SiriusXM Universal Boombox Quick Start Guide
Getting Started: Installation Guide
Step 1: Install the Radio Dock Adapter
Select the appropriate dock adapter for your Sirius or XM radio. Adapter 1 is for Sirius radios, and Adapter 2 is for XM radios. Locate the adapter name imprinted on its underside. Align the chosen adapter with the slot in the Universal Boombox and gently press it until it snaps into place.
Removing the Radio Dock Adapter
To remove the adapter, carefully insert a coin or your fingernail into the slot at the back of the adapter and pull it straight up. Handle with care to avoid stressing the plastic or breaking the retaining tabs.
Step 2: Install Batteries or Home Power Adapter
The Universal Boombox can be powered by batteries or the included Home Power Adapter.
For Portable Use (Batteries):
Open the two battery compartments on the bottom of the boombox. Insert eight "D" cell alkaline batteries (four in each compartment). Replace both battery compartment doors.
Tip: It is recommended to remove batteries when the boombox is not in use for extended periods.
Indicator Light: The light surrounding the Power/Volume knob is blue when the boombox is powered on. It turns red to indicate low battery power, requiring battery replacement.
For Home Use (Home Power Adapter):
Plug the Home Power Adapter into the "12 V DC" connector at the rear of the Universal Boombox. Plug the other end into a standard wall outlet.
Step 3: Install the Indoor/Outdoor Home Antenna
Plug the antenna cable into the "ANTENNA" connector at the rear of the Universal Boombox. Wrap the cable into the designated storage area. Place the antenna into its storage area at the rear of the boombox. Align the antenna's mounting holes with the four mounting brackets on the boombox's rear, push the antenna over the brackets, and slide it down to secure it. Open the antenna clamshell so the top faces the sky.
Tip: For indoor antenna placement, consult the User Manual.
Step 4: Insert Radio and Turn On
Ensure the Universal Boombox is powered off. Align your radio with the Radio Dock Adapter. Gently press the radio down until it is fully seated on the connector. Press the Power/Volume knob on the front of the boombox to turn it on. If your radio does not power on automatically, press its power button.
Audio Level Adjustment: If your radio has an Audio Level or Line Out Level setting, adjust it to the maximum volume without distortion for optimal audio quality. Refer to your radio's user guide. Some radios adjust this automatically.
Your installation is complete. Enjoy your SiriusXM programming.
