Safety Instructions
This document contains important instructions and warnings for the safe use of the Mobile Connector. Always follow these guidelines to prevent fire, electric shock, and serious injury or death.
General Warnings
- Read this document carefully before using the Mobile Connector.
- Use the Mobile Connector only within specified operating parameters.
- The Mobile Connector is designed exclusively for charging Tesla vehicles (excluding Tesla Roadster) that do not require ventilation during charging.
- Do not use or immediately discontinue use if the Mobile Connector is defective, cracked, chipped, broken, or otherwise damaged, or if it is not functioning correctly.
- Do not attempt to open, disassemble, repair, tamper with, or modify the Mobile Connector. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Contact Tesla for any repairs.
- Do not use extension cords, power strips, multi-adapters, or adapters to connect the Mobile Connector.
- Do not disconnect the Mobile Connector from the wall outlet while the vehicle is charging.
- Do not connect the Mobile Connector to a damaged, loose, or worn wall outlet. Ensure the Mobile Connector pins insert precisely into the wall outlet.
- Do not connect the Mobile Connector to an inadequately grounded outlet.

General Information
Specifications
Use exclusively a 230-volt (single-phase) or 230/400-volt (three-phase) AC wall outlet with a dedicated, properly grounded circuit and a 50 Hz frequency. The minimum single-phase current is 13A.
If possible, use a dedicated single-socket connector. If the connector has two sockets, do not connect any device to the other socket.
The Mobile Connector cable is 6 meters long. Use an existing outlet or install a new one approximately 4 meters from the vehicle's charging port, at least 45 cm above the ground. The vehicle's charging port is located on the driver's side, covered by a flap integrated into the rear light cluster.
Warning: Do not use extension cords, power strips, multi-adapters, or adapters to connect the Mobile Connector.
Charging Time
Charging times vary based on available voltage and current, ambient temperature, and vehicle battery temperature. The vehicle may pre-condition the battery (heat or cool it) if it is outside the optimal temperature range for charging.
For the latest information on Tesla vehicle charging times, visit www.teslamotors.com.
Adapters
The Mobile Connector comes with various adapters for connecting to most common outlets. Specific adapters included vary by country. High-power adapters for faster charging include:
- IEC 60309 5-pin adapter (red): Three-phase charging from 230/400 VAC at 16A.
- IEC 60309 3-pin adapter (blue): Single-phase charging from 230 VAC at 32A.
Additional adapters can be purchased. Visit www.teslamotors.com/en_EU for details.

Charging Modes
Connecting
- Before each use, verify the Mobile Connector is not damaged.
- Ensure the Mobile Connector adapter is compatible with the outlet you intend to use. Refer to the "Adapter Replacement" section for instructions on changing adapters.
- Connect the Mobile Connector to the power outlet. The adapter must be fully inserted into the outlet.
- With the vehicle unlocked, press the button on the top of the Mobile Connector. The charging port door will open.
- Note: The vehicle unlocks when it detects the key nearby. You can also open the charging port door via the touchscreen (Controls > Charge Port) or by pressing the trunk button on the key fob for 1-2 seconds.
- Connect the Tesla vehicle.
- Once connected, the light next to the charging port will flash green, and the instrument cluster will display charging information. The light turns off shortly after the vehicle is locked.
- Note: The Mobile Connector is designed to interrupt power if the charging cable is subjected to excessive tension.
Disconnecting
After charging is complete, the light next to the charging port stops flashing and turns solid green.
- With the vehicle locked, press and hold the button on the Mobile Connector. Wait for the safety lock to retract, then pull the Mobile Connector out of the charging port.
- Note: To prevent unauthorized removal of the charging cable, you must unlock the vehicle or approach it with a recognized key. Alternatively, you can stop charging and unlock via the touchscreen (Battery icon > Charging > Stop Charging > Unlock).
- Note: When the vehicle's charging port latch retracts, the Mobile Connector interrupts charging and can be disconnected from the vehicle.
- Disconnect the mobile connector from the wall outlet.
- Close the charging port door by applying light pressure.
- Note: If the charging port door is motorized, removing the cable will close it automatically.
- Store the Mobile Connector in an appropriate location.

Local consumer rights may provide additional rights and remedies. Refer to "Country-Specific Consumer Rights" for details.
The warranty does not cover damage or malfunction caused by:
- Normal wear and tear, abuse, misuse, negligence, accident, improper use, maintenance, storage, or transport.
- Failure to follow instructions, maintenance guidelines, and warnings in the provided documentation.
- External factors such as impacts, electrical wiring faults, junction boxes, circuit breakers, connectors, outlets, environmental conditions, or force majeure events (fire, earthquake, flood, lightning).
- Cosmetic damage like scratches, chips, dents, and cracks.
- Failure to report a defect to Tesla promptly.
- Unauthorized repair, alteration, or modification of the Tesla connector or adapter.
- Improper or inadequate repair or maintenance, or use of non-original parts or accessories.

While Tesla does not require all service to be performed at a Tesla Service Center, failure to perform adequate maintenance may void the warranty. Tesla recommends using authorized service centers for all maintenance, service, or repair work.
Limitation of Liability
This Limited Warranty for Charging System is the sole express warranty provided. Implied warranties and conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or those arising from course of dealing or usage of trade are excluded to the extent permitted by local law. Tesla's liability is limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, not exceeding the manufacturer's suggested retail price. Replacement may be with equivalent parts, including non-original or refurbished parts.
Tesla is not responsible for defects that exceed the market value of the connector or adapter at the time of discovery. The total benefits under this warranty will not exceed the purchase price of the covered Tesla connector or adapter.
Tesla does not authorize any other person or entity to assume additional obligations or liabilities. Tesla reserves the right to repair or replace parts at its discretion, using new or refurbished parts.
Tesla is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the connector or adapter, including but not limited to, transportation costs, loss of the connector or adapter, loss of vehicle value, loss of time, lost profits, inconvenience, or emotional distress. These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory or whether Tesla was aware of the possibility of such damages.
No provision of this warranty will exclude or limit Tesla's liability for death or personal injury caused solely by Tesla's negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, to the extent such liability cannot be excluded or limited by local law.
