Configuring Multiple VLANs with Internet Access
In this article we are going to show how to configure a DHCP reservation for a device on VLAN10.

A DHCP reservation allows you to configure the DHCP server to always provide the same IP address for a specific device based on the MAC address that is requesting an IP address.

For this scenario we have already configured a VLAN with a DHCP server on the core switch.

Router IP: 192.168.77.1 SM: 255.255.255.0 DHCP: 192.168.77.100-200

Engage Controller

IP:

192.168.77.12

SM: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.77.1

Core

VLAN 1

IP:

192.168.77.254

SM:

255.255.255.0

VLAN 10

IP:

192.168.10.1

SM:

255.255.255.0

DHCP POOL: 192.168.10.100 - 192.168.10.200

Lobby VLAN 1 IP: 192.168.77.106 SM: 255.255.255.0 VLAN 10

Conference1 VLAN 1 IP: 192.168.77.103 SM: 255.255.255.0 VLAN 10

Open Engage and go to "Site Settings."

Go to the "VLAN Routing and DHCP Server" tab.

Go to "Advanced" and "DHCP Address Reservation."

Click on the drop-down for "VLAN Routing" and select the VLAN you want to create a DHCP reservation for.

Click on "Add."

There are 2 ways to add a DHCP reservation: 1. If the device has already connected to the VLAN and has already received an address, it will show up on the list where we can select it and assign the address we want to it. 2. If the device has not yet connected to the network, you can manually input the information for the device. We are going to go through both ways starting with adding the discovered device.
Check the box for the device that you want to create the reservation for.

Click on "Add."

NOTE: you will have to renew the IP address on the device for it to receive the new address.

Enter the IP address you want to assign for the device. We are going to assign "192.168.10.50."

Click on "Confirm."

Here we can see the DHCP reservation that we just created. We are now going to create a reservation for a device that has never been connected to the network, and manually enter the information.
Click on "Add."

Click on "Others."

Enter a name for the device, the MAC address, and the IP address you want for the device.

Here we can see the reservation that we just created has been added to the list.
In this module we have gone through how to create a DHCP reservation by discovering the device on the network and by manually entering the information for the device.
