Important Safety Instructions
Please read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Use only manufacturer-approved accessories. Install the instrument properly according to the device connection section. Recommended operating environment: 0-35°C. To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not expose the product to rain or moisture. Do not use near water or immerse the product in any liquid. Do not install or use near heat sources. Do not place liquid-filled objects or open flames on the product. Do not block ventilation openings or insert objects into them. Maintain sufficient clearance (minimum 5 cm) around the product for good ventilation. Do not force plugs into jacks; check for blockages and correct orientation. Keep accessories and small parts away from children. Do not open or remove the housing yourself; refer servicing to authorized professionals. Turn off and disconnect the power plug before cleaning with a dry cloth. Use only neutral solvents or clear water for cleaning; avoid strong chemicals.
Excessively loud music may lead to hearing loss. Please keep the volume in a safe range.
Correct Disposal of this Product
This marking indicates that the product should not be disposed of with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased.
Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
Power Warning

Symbol Descriptions:
- [High Voltage Symbol]: Alerts the user to the presence of un-insulated dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure that may constitute a risk of electric shock.
- [No Disassembly Symbol]: Warns the user not to disassemble the enclosure as there are no user-replaceable parts inside. Take the product to an authorized service center for repair.
- [Indoor Use Symbol]: Indicates that the product is for indoor use only.
- [Double Insulation Symbol]: Indicates that the product is a CLASS II or double insulated electrical device with no earth requirement.
The MAINS plug is used as the disconnect device and shall remain readily operable.
For Wireless Products
- Wireless products may generate shortwave radio frequencies and interfere with other electronic devices or medical equipment.
- Turn off the product when disallowed. Do not use in medical facilities, on airplanes, at gas stations, near automatic gates, fire alarm systems, or other automated devices.
- Do not use the product within a 20 cm range of a pacemaker, as radio waves may affect its normal operation or that of other medical devices.

Battery Loading
Open the battery compartment, insert the CR2032 battery, and close the compartment.
WARNING!
- Do not swallow the battery; risk of chemical burn.
- The product contains a coin battery. Swallowing can cause severe injury or death. Keep batteries away from children.
- Do not use the product if the battery cover is missing or not closed. Keep the remote inaccessible to children.
- Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed.
Note:
- Do not place the remote in hot or humid locations.
- Do not charge batteries.
- Remove batteries when not in use for extended periods.
- Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat.
- Danger of explosion if battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Connecting the Speakers
The diagram shows the connection of the active and passive speakers, audio sources (DVD player, laptop, tablet, smartphone), and power supply.
Line In Mode
To switch to Line In 1 or Line In 2 mode:
- Press the volume/input dial on the side panel of the active speaker. The indicator light will flash green once for Line In 1 and twice for Line In 2.
- Alternatively, press the "LINE1" or "LINE2" button on the remote control.
Bluetooth Mode
To connect via Bluetooth:
- Press the volume/input dial on the side panel of the active speaker, or press the Bluetooth button [Bluetooth Icon] on the remote control. The indicator light will flash blue.
- Set your Bluetooth device to search for and connect to "EDIFIER R1700BTs". The indicator light will turn solid blue upon successful connection.
- To disconnect Bluetooth, press and hold the volume/input dial on the active speaker or the Bluetooth button [Bluetooth Icon] on the remote control for 2 seconds.
Note:
- Ensure your audio source device supports the A2DP profile for full Bluetooth functionality.
- Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility may vary depending on the source device and its software version.

Troubleshooting
No Sound
- Check if the speaker is powered ON.
- Increase the volume using the master volume control or remote control.
- Ensure audio cables are securely connected and the correct input is selected.
- Verify that the audio source is outputting a signal.
Cannot Connect via Bluetooth
- Ensure the speaker is in Bluetooth input mode. Disconnect from any existing Bluetooth device by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button [Bluetooth Icon] and try connecting again.
- Maintain a distance within the effective Bluetooth transmission range of 10 meters.
- Attempt connection with a different Bluetooth device.
The R1700BTs Does Not Turn On
- Check if the main power cable is connected and the wall outlet is switched on.
Noise Coming from Speakers
- Edifier speakers produce minimal noise. If background noise from audio devices is high, unplug audio cables and turn the volume up. If no sound is audible from 1 meter away, the product is functioning correctly.
