Important Health & Safety Precautions

When using the headset, basic health and safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE VIRTUAL REALITY HEADSET.
  2. The headset is not to be used by children under the age of 14 years old. For children older than 14 or the infirm, the headset should only be used with adult supervision.
  3. If experiencing irregular vision, or prone to headaches or earaches, consult a doctor before using the headset.
  4. If there is any history with epilepsy, seizures, or symptoms linked to an epileptic condition, consult a doctor before using the headset. Approximately 1 in 4000 people may experience seizures triggered by flashing lights or patterns seen while watching video content, even without prior history of epilepsy or seizures.
  5. Avoid using the headset if under the influence of drugs or alcohol, suffering from illness, or under intense emotional distress.
  6. If frequently suffering from motion sickness, take extra precaution when using the headset and take frequent breaks.

⚠ CAUTION: DO NOT USE FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME

If this is the first time using a virtual reality headset, only use the headset for a short period of time (3-4 minutes maximum) to get accustomed to the virtual reality experience. As users become more experienced, the headset can be used for longer periods. It is recommended to take frequent breaks. All users, regardless of experience, should take a break after using their headset for thirty minutes. Additionally, take an immediate break if feeling any discomfort or strain.

⚠ CAUTION: DISCONTINUE USE IF YOU EXPERIENCE DISCOMFORT

If experiencing seizures, dizziness, eye strain, disorientation, or any general illness or discomfort while using the headset, stop using it immediately. Do not drive a car, use heavy machinery, or participate in any activities that require balance or dexterity until fully recovered. Contact a doctor if these symptoms persist.

⚠ CAUTION: ONLY USE IN A SAFE, STABLE ENVIRONMENT

Only use the virtual reality headset in a secure environment. Never use the headset near windows, stairs, or steep heights. Never use the headset in a moving vehicle or in an environment with moving people or objects that could pose a danger due to lack of focus on surroundings.

Downloading VR Content Onto Your Smartphone

To use the headset for games or video content, suitable VR content must be downloaded onto a smartphone. VR content can be downloaded from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (Apple iPhones). A quick search for 'VR' or 'Virtual Reality' games, movies, or videos will yield results. Examples of popular free VR applications include:

Disclaimer: This list is for highlighting available selections. Sakar International is not the developer of these apps and does not vouch for their content or performance. Some apps may have in-app purchases. For app issues, contact the app development team directly.

Charging Your Headset

The headset has a built-in, rechargeable lithium-ion battery. To avoid damage, do not attempt to remove the battery. Full battery performance is achieved after a few charging-discharging cycles. Charge the battery fully before first use:

  1. Connect one end of the included USB charging cable to the charging port on the headset. Plug the other end into a USB port on a computer or a suitable power adapter to recharge the internal battery.
  2. The internal battery takes approximately 2-3 hours to charge when completely drained.
  3. When charging, the LED indicator light will turn red. It will turn off when the battery is fully charged. Unplug when charging is complete.

Note: Overcharging can reduce battery life. A charged battery will lose capacity if not used regularly. To avoid complete discharge, charge the speaker at least once every six months.

Pairing Your Headset with Your Smartphone

To use the attached headphones for audio, the headset must be paired with a smartphone. The headset is compatible with most iPhones and Android phones with Bluetooth capabilities. To pair:

  1. Press and hold the power button to power on the headset. The LED indicator light will alternately flash red and blue, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Go to the Bluetooth Manager on the smartphone.
  3. Search for Bluetooth devices and select the headset (often listed as “VIVITAR HEADSET”) to connect.
  4. Enter “0000” if a PIN code is requested.
  5. Once paired, the LED indicator light will slowly blink blue every few seconds.

Inserting Your Smartphone Into Your Headset

After downloading VR content and pairing the headset, insert the smartphone into the headset:

  1. On the smartphone, open the VR video content to be watched.
  2. On the headset, press the OPEN button to flip out the front cover.
  3. Insert the smartphone inside the headset. Align the center line on the smartphone's screen to the midpoint mark of the Front Cover. (Diagram shows 'L' for Left, 'R' for Right, and 'O' for Center alignment marks on the front cover.)
  4. Flip the front cover back up so it fits securely in place.

Viewing VR Content On Your Headset

Once VR content is downloaded and the smartphone is inserted, immersive video viewing can begin:

  1. Use the Adjustable Strap to secure the headset to the head. Ensure it is tight enough not to fall off, but not uncomfortable.
  2. Note: It is not advised to use the headset while wearing glasses or other eyewear. Remove glasses before putting on the headset; contact lenses are preferred if possible.
  3. Rotate the diopter adjustment knobs on the sides of the headset to adjust image sharpness for optimal eyesight.
  4. Turn the interpupillary distance adjustment dial on top of the headset to adjust the distance between the lenses, matching the distance between the pupils for best results. (Diagram shows two eyes with lines indicating interpupillary distance adjustment.)
  5. While viewing video, tilt the head left and right to enhance viewing angles, utilizing the phone's motion sensor.

Listening to Audio Using Your Headset

To listen to audio via the headset's attached headphones, ensure the headset is powered on.

Powering Your Headset On and OFF

  1. Press and hold the power button to power on the headset. If already paired with a smartphone, they will automatically re-pair each time the headset is powered on.
  2. To power off the headset, press and hold the power button until it powers off.

Adjusting the Volume

  1. While watching a video, turn the volume dial left or right to increase or decrease volume.

Answering Incoming Calls

  1. If a phone call is received while using the headset, tap the power button to accept the call. The built-in microphone allows the caller to hear the user.
  2. To reject an incoming call, press and hold the power button.
  3. To end a phone conversation, tap the power button.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Video is Not Displaying Properly When Viewed Through the Headset

Possible Solutions:

  1. Ensure the content on the smartphone is actual VR content, not a standard video file. VR content can be downloaded from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (Apple iPhones). A quick search for 'VR' or 'Virtual Reality' games, movies, or videos should yield results.
  2. When inserting the phone into the headset, ensure it is aligned properly.
  3. Ensure the front cover is properly attached.
