Power requirements

WARNING Tools with double insulation and reinforced insulation are equipped with a polarized plug (one prong is wider than the other). This plug will only fit in the right way into a polarized outlet. If the plug cannot be introduced into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, call a qualified electrician to install for you a polarized outlet. Do not alter the plug in any way. Both insulation types eliminate the need of both a grounded third power cord with three prongs or a grounded power connection

WARNING When using an extension cable, verify the gauge is enough for the power that your product needs. A lower gauge cable will cause voltage drop in the line, resulting in power loss and overheating. The following table shows the right size to use depending on cable's length and the ampere capability shown in the tool's nameplate. When in doubt use the next higher gauge.

General power tool safety warnings

WARNING! Read carefully all safety warnings and instructions listed below. Failure to comply with any of these warnings may result in electric shock, fire and / or severe damage. Save all warnings and instructions for future references.

Work area Keep your work area clean, and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas may cause accidents.

Remove any wrench or vice before turning the power tool on. Wrenches or vices left attached to rotating parts of the tool may result in personal
injury.

Never use the tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Sparks generated by power tools may ignite the flammable material.
Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating the tool. Distractions may cause loosing control.
Electrical Safety The tool plug must match the power outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with grounded power tools. Modified plugs and different power outlets increase the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, electric ranges and refrigerators. The risk of electric shock increases if your body is grounded.
Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions. Water entering into the tool increases the risk of electric shock.
Do not force the cord. Never use the cord to carry, lift or unplug the tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Using an adequate outdoor extension cord reduces the risk of electric shock.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables a better control on the tool during unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothes and gloves away from the moving parts. Loose clothes or long hair may get caught in moving parts.
If you have dust extraction and recollection devices connected onto the tool, inspect their connections and use them correctly. Using these devices reduce dust-related risks.
Power Tools Use and Care Do not force the tool. Use the adequate tool for your application. The correct tool delivers a better and safer job at the rate for which it was designed.
Do not use the tool if the switch is not working properly. Any power tool that cannot be turned ON or OFF is dangerous and should be repaired before operating.
Disconnect the tool from the power source and / or battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing. These measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the tool.
Store tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons that are not familiar with the tool or its instructions to operate the tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

If operating the tool in a damp location cannot be avoided, use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Using a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of distraction while operating the tool may result in personal injury.

Service the tool. Check the mobile parts are not misaligned or stuck. There should not be broken parts or other conditions that may affect its operation. Repair any damage before using the tool. Most accidents are caused due to poor maintenance to the tools.
Keep the cutting accessories sharp and clean. Cutting accessories in good working conditions are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as safety glasses, anti-dust mask, non-skid shoes, hard hats and hearing protection used in the right conditions significantly reduce personal injury.

Use the tool, components and accessories in accordance with these instructions and the projected way to use it for the type of tool when in adequate working conditions. Using the tool for applications different from those it was designed for, could
result in a hazardous situation.

Prevent unintentional starting up. Ensure the switch is in the "OFF" position before connecting into the power source and / or battery as well as when carrying the tool. Transporting power tools with the finger on the switch or connecting power
tools with the switch in the "ON" position may cause accidents.

CAUTION · Select the adequate blade for the material. Reduce the risk of severe personal injury and make the job faster.
WARNING · Do not use dull or damaged blades. Bent blades may break easily and could cause kickback.
CAUTION · Handle blades with care. The teeth are very sharp.
Before operating the jig saw
DANGER · Double-check wall, floors, and ceilings to prevent making contact with power wires and / or pipes.
CAUTION · Before starting to cut verify there are no nails or screws along the cutting line. · Clamp and secure the work piece if possible to prevent it from moving. · This jig saw is intended for manual use. Do not fix it.
After operating the jig saw
WARNING · Metal parts and accessories may get very hot if the tool is used for long periods of time.
CAUTION · Remove the Jig saw from the work piece only when it stops moving.

While operating the jig saw
CAUTION · Hold the tool by the insulated griping parts when there is risk of making contact with hidden wiring or the tools cable. Contact with "live" wiring will electrify the exposed metal parts of the tool and send and electric shock to the operator. · Use a bench vice or other practical way to support and secure the work piece onto a firm platform. Holding the work piece with your hand against your body makes it unstable and could cause loosing control.
WARNING · Keep your hands away from the cutting area. Do not overreach over the material to be cut. The distance of your hand with the blade is out of sight.
CAUTION · Never stop the blade by applying force on its side. · When operating the jig saw always assure it is firmly held. · When operating the jig saw sit it firmly against the material. It reduces vibration, stops the tool from jumping or breaking the blade.

Preparation
Blade set up
· The opening of the blade support should be free of sawdust. · Turn the lever to the right to open the blade support. · Insert the blade all the way in the blade support. The backside of the blade should be set into the roller guide slot. · Turn the lever to the left to close the blade support.

This jig saw uses T-shank blade. To get better cutting results make sure to use the
adequate blade for the material and cut to be made.

Preparation
Parallel guide installation
· Loosen the fixing screws with the Hex key (included) and insert the parallel guide through the base of the guide. · Set the width of the desired cut according to the scale on the inside of the base. · Tighten the fixing screw.
Extraction dust hose
· Connect the extraction hose to the dust extraction port of the machine with an internal diameter of 1 3/8" (35 mm) (not compatible with Truper brand vacuums). · Connect the dust extraction hose to a dust extractor or vacuum cleaner.
Adjusting the cutting angle
· Disconnect the unit from the power source. · Loosen the 2 screws on the base plate with the Allen key included. · Move the shoe forward in order to release it from the locking pin of the toothed guide of the shoe. · Adjust the base plate into the desired angle using the serrated guide in the base plate. · Tighten the screws back. · Set the Allen key back in its holder in the power cable protector immediately after use.

Start up
Start up and operation control
· Intermittent Operation: Connect the plug to the electrical outlet. Press the switch (A) to start the jig saw operating. To interrupt its use, simply release the switch. · Continuous Operation: Connect the plug to the electrical outlet. Press the switch (A) and lock it by pressing the Lock-on button (B). To interrupt its operation, press and then release the switch.

Balancing action control (C)

The balancing action varies the blade cutting angle to

increase the cutting efficiency.

It shall be adjusted with the jig saw unloaded. Do not apply

excessive force on the blade when cutting with the balancing

action. The blade cuts only upwards.

Speed control
· The tool can be operated at different speeds. These are selected by adjusting the speed control (D) located on the top of the tool. · The number of coats required depends on the material and working conditions, and it is advisable to determine it by testing. It is advisable to reduce the number of strokes when applying the saw blade while it is in operation against the workpiece, as well as when sawing plastic and aluminum. · Refer to the speed guide to select the appropriate one for the job to be done.
WARNING · When working for an extended period of time with a limited number of blades, the power tool may heat up strongly. Remove the saw blade and let the power tool run for about 3 minutes at maximum speed to allow it to cool down.

· When cutting most wood sheets or very thin wood use a blade with fine teeth. Reduce splinters in the edges. · Clamp scrap pieces of wood onto both faces of the work piece and start cutting.
CAUTION · Do not use the balancing action when cutting much closed circles or angles.

Straight cut
· To make more accurate straight cuts, use the parallel guide provided with the tool by resting it against the edge of the workpiece. · The parallel guide is inserted through the slots on the saw's shoe. To adjust the width, loosen the Allen head screws and move the parallel guide to the desired position. · Straight cuts can also be made with a good finish by cutting slowly along a previously marked cutting line.

Circular cut
· Circular cuts can also get a fine finish if cutting slowly over a line previously marked similar to the straight cut. With a circular guide (not included) the jig saw can make perfect circular cuts.

Maintenance

WARNING Disconnect the tool from the power source before making adjustments, service o maintenance to the jig saw.
Cleaning and care
· Keep the tool free of dust. Never use water or chemical-based cleansing materials. Clean only using a clean and dry cloth. · Keep the ventilation slots always clean and free of obstructions to guarantee the right cooling of the motor. · Check the feeding cable regularly to look for any damages. In case the cable is damaged change it in a
Authorized service center.

Carbon brush replacement

· Carbon brushes need to be checked regularly and when

worn, replaced in a

Authorized

Service Center. After the carbons have been replaced, ask

the technician to inspect if they run freely in the carbon

housing and to let run the machine 5 minutes to make

even the contact of carbon and commuter.

· Use only

original spare carbon

brushes, designed specifically with the strength and electric

resistance fit for each type of motor. Carbon brushes that

are out of specifications may damage the motor.

· When replacing carbon brushes always change both pieces.

Service
· The tool shall only be serviced in a Authorized service center. Service and maintenance carried out by non-qualified people may be dangerous and could cause severe personal injury. It also makes the product warranty void.

Lubrication
· Regularly apply a drop of lubricant to the roller guide for proper blade slippage when cutting.

Mantenimiento

ADVERTENCIA Desconecte el cable de alimentación del tomacorriente antes de hacer cualquier servicio o mantenimiento a la sierra caladora.
Limpieza y cuidados
· Mantenga la sierra caladora libre de polvo. Nunca utilice agua o limpiadores químicos para limpiar la sierra caladora. Servicio
· El servicio de las sierras caladoras debe ser realizado únicamente en un centro de servicio autorizado
. El servicio y mantenimiento realizado por personas no calificadas puede resultar peligroso y llegar a ocasionar daños personales además de invalidar la garantía del producto.

Cambio de carbones

· Los carbones deben revisarse periódicamente, y ser

reemplazados siempre por un centro de servicio

autorizado

cuando se hayan

desgastado. Después de que hayan sido reemplazados,

pida que se inspeccione si los nuevos carbones pueden

moverse libremente en el porta-carbón y solicite que

enciendan la sierra caladora durante 5 minutos para

emparejar el contacto de los carbones y el conmutador.

· Sólo se deben de usar carbones de repuesto originales, diseñados específicamente
con la dureza y la resistencia eléctrica adecuadas para cada tipo de motor. Los carbones fuera de especificaciónes pueden dañar el motor.

· Cuando se haga el cambio de carbones siempre deben reemplazarse los dos carbones.
Lubricación
· Aplique regularmente una gota de lubricante al rodillo guía para un adecuado deslizamiento de la segueta mientras corta.

Puesta en marcha

Corte de laminados
Utilice una segueta de dientes finos cuando corte la mayoría de materiales laminados o madera delgada. Para reducir el astillado de las orillas, sujete piezas de madera de desecho por ambas caras de la pieza de trabajo y realice el corte.
ATENCIÓN No utilice la acción pendular cuando corte círculos muy cerrados o ángulos.

· Para realizar cortes rectos más exactos use la guía paralela provista con la herramienta apoyándola al canto de la pieza de trabajo. · La guía paralela se inserta por las ranuras que tiene la zapata de la sierra. Para ajustar el ancho afloje los tornillos cabeza allen y recorra la guía paralela a la posición deseada. · Los cortes rectos también se pueden realizar con un buen acabado cortando lentamente sobre una línea de corte previamente marcada.

Cortes circulares
· Los cortes circulares se pueden realizar con un buen acabado cortando lentamente sobre una línea de corte previamente marcada al igual que los cortes rectos. Con la ayuda de una guía circular (no incluida) la caladora puede hacer cortes circulares perfectos.

Puesta en marcha

Encendido y control de operación
· Operación intermitente: Conecte la clavija al tomacorriente. Presione el interruptor (A) para hacer que la sierra caladora empiece a funcionar. Para interrumpir su uso, simplemente suelte el interruptor. · Operación continua: Conecte la clavija al tomacorriente. Presione el interruptor (A) y bloquéelo, apretando el botón de uso continuo (B). Para interrumpir su funcionamiento, presione y después suelte el interruptor.

Control de acción pendular (C)

La acción pendular varía el ángulo de corte de la segueta

con el fin de aumentar la eficiencia del corte. Se debe ajustar

con la sierra caladora sin carga. No ejerza fuerza excesiva

sobre la segueta cuando corte con la acción pendular. La

segueta corta solamente cuando va hacia arriba.

Control de velocidad
· La herramienta puede operarse a distintas velocidades que se seleccionan ajustando el selector de velocidad (D) ubicado en la parte superior de la herramienta. · El número de carreras precisado depende del material y condiciones de trabajo, siendo conveniente determinarlo en material de prueba. · Es recomendable reducir el número de carreras al aplicar la hoja sierra en funcionamiento contra la pieza de trabajo, así como al serrar plástico y aluminio. Consulte la guía de velocidades para seleccionar la adecuada para el trabajo a realizar.
ADVERTENCIA · Al trabajar prolongadamente con un número de carreras reducido, puede que la herramienta eléctrica se caliente fuertemente. Retire la hoja de sierra y deje trabajar la herramienta eléctrica durante aprox. 3 min a las revoluciones máximas, para que se refrigere.

Preparación
Instalación de guía paralela
· Afloje los tornillos de fijación con la llave allen (incluida) e inserte la guía paralela por la guía de la base. · Ajuste el ancho de corte deseado según la escala en el canto interior de la base. · Apriete el tornillo de fijación.

Manguera de extracción de polvo
· Conecte manguera de extracción de polvo al puerto para extracción de polvo de la máquina con diámetro interno de 1 3/8" (35 mm) (No compatible con aspiradoras de la línea Truper). · Conectar la manguera de extracción de polvo a un extractor de polvo o aspiradora.
Ajuste del ángulo de corte
· Desconecte el cable de alimentación. · Afloje los 2 tornillos que se encuentran en la base de la zapata con la llave Allen incluída. · Desplace la zapata hacia el frente con el fin de liberarla del pin de bloqueode la guia dentada de la zapata · Ajuste la zapata al ángulo deseado de acuerdo a la guía dentada de la base de la zapata. · Apriete nuevamente los tornillos. · Regrese la llave Allen a su soporte en el protector del cable de alimentación inmediatamente después de haberla utilizado.

Instalación de la segueta
· La abertura del soporte de la segueta debe estar libre de aserrín. · Gire la palanca a la derecha para abrir el soporte de la segueta. · Introduzca la segueta en el soporte hasta el tope. La parte trasera de la segueta debe entrar en la ranura del rodillo guía. · Gire la palanca a la izquierda para cerrar el soporte de la segueta.

Esta caladora utiliza seguetas con zanco tipo "T". Para obtener
mejores resultados de corte asegúrese de utilizar la segueta
designada para el material y calidad de corte deseada.

ATENCIÓN · Elija la segueta apropiada para el material a trabajar, esto reduce el riesgo de lesiones graves y agiliza el trabajo.
ADVERTENCIA · No utilice seguetas sin afilar o que estén dañadas. Las seguetas dobladas se pueden romper con facilidad y pueden ocasionarle un contragolpe.
ATENCIÓN · Maneje las seguetas con precaución, sus dientes son muy filosos.
Antes de operar la sierra caladora
PELIGRO · Revise siempre las paredes, pisos y techos para evitar entrar en contacto con cables eléctricos y/o tubería.
ATENCIÓN · Antes de empezar el corte verifique que la línea de corte no tenga clavos, tornillos, etc. · De ser posible, la pieza de trabajo debe ajustarse firmemente, para prevenir que se mueva. · Esta caladora es para uso manual. No la fije.
Después de operar la sierra caladora
ADVERTENCIA · Las partes metálicas y los accesorios pueden estar calientes si se utiliza la herramienta por periodos prolongados.
ATENCIÓN · Retire la segueta del corte únicamente cuando haya dejado de moverse.

Mientras opera la sierra caladora
ATENCIÓN · Sostenga la herramienta por las partes de agarre aisladas cuando lleve a cabo operaciones en las que exista el riesgo de que la herramienta de corte pueda entrar en contacto con el cableado oculto o su propio cable, El contacto con un cable "vivo" hará que las partes expuestas de metal se electrifiquen y den una descarga eléctrica al operador. · Utilice tornillos de banco u otro medio práctico para asegurar y sostener la pieza de trabajo sobre una plataforma estable. Sostener el trabajo con la mano o contra su cuerpo lo deja inestable y puede ocasionar que usted pierda el control.
ADVERTENCIA · Mantenga las manos lejos del área de corte. No se estire sobre el material que va a cortar ya que la cercanía de su mano con la segueta queda oculta a su vista.
ATENCIÓN · Nunca detenga la segueta aplicándole fuerza de lado. · Siempre que opere la sierra caladora, asegúrese de sostenerla firmemente. · Al operar la sierra caladora la placa base debe fijarse siempre con firmeza sobre el material que se va a cortar, con el fin de reducir la vibración producida, evitar que la sierra brinque o se rompa la segueta.

Advertencias generales de seguridad para herramientas eléctricas

¡ADVERTENCIA! Lea detenidamente todas las advertencias de seguridad y todas las instrucciones que se enlistan a continuación. La omisión de alguna de ellas puede dar como resultado un choque eléctrico, incendio y/o daño serio. Conserve las advertencias y las instrucciones para futuras referencias.

Área de trabajo Mantenga el área de trabajo limpia y bien iluminada. Las áreas desordenadas y obscuras son propensas a accidentes.
No maneje la herramienta en ambientes explosivos, como en presencia de líquido, gas o polvo inflamables. Las herramientas eléctricas producen chispas que pueden encender material inflamable.
Mantenga alejados a los niños y curiosos cuando opere la herramienta. Las distracciones pueden hacer que pierda el control.
Seguridad eléctrica La clavija de la herramienta debe coincidir con el tomacorriente. Nunca modifique una clavija. No use ningún tipo de adaptador para clavijas de herramientas puestas a tierra. Clavijas modificadas y enchufes diferentes aumentan el riesgo de choque eléctrico.
Evite el contacto del cuerpo con superficies puestas a tierra como tuberías, radiadores, cocinas eléctricas y refrigeradores. Hay un mayor riesgo de choque eléctrico si el cuerpo está puesto a tierra.
No exponga la herramienta a la lluvia o condiciones de humedad. El agua que ingresa en la herramienta aumenta el riesgo de choque eléctrico.

Retire cualquier llave o herramienta de ajuste antes de arrancar la herramienta eléctrica. Las llaves o herramientas que quedan en las partes rotativas de la herramienta pueden causar un daño personal.
No sobrepase su campo de acción. Mantenga ambos pies bien asentados sobre el suelo y conserve el equilibrio en todo momento. Esto permite un mejor control de la herramienta en situaciones inesperadas.
Vista adecuadamente. No vista ropa suelta o joyas. Mantenga su pelo, su ropa y guantes alejados de las piezas en movimiento. La ropa o el pelo sueltos o las joyas pueden quedar atrapados en las piezas en movimiento.
En caso de contar con dispositivos de extracción y recolección de polvo conectados a la herramienta, verifique sus conexiones y úselos correctamente. El uso de estos dispositivos reduce los riesgos relacionados con el polvo.
Uso y cuidados de la herramienta No fuerce la herramienta. Use la herramienta adecuada para el trabajo a realizar. La herramienta adecuada hace un trabajo mejor y más seguro cuando se usa al ritmo para el que fue diseñada.

No fuerce el cable. Nunca use el cable para transportar, levantar o desconectar la herramienta. Mantenga el cable lejos del calor, aceite, orillas afiladas o piezas en movimiento. Los cables dañados o enredados aumentan el riesgo de choque eléctrico.
Cuando maneje una herramienta en exteriores, use una extensión especial para uso en exteriores. El uso de una extensión adecuada para exteriores reduce el riesgo de choque eléctrico.

No use la herramienta si el interruptor no funciona. Cualquier herramienta eléctrica que no pueda encenderse o apagarse es peligrosa y debe repararse antes de ser operada.
Desconecte la herramienta de la fuente de alimentación y/o de la batería antes de efectuar cualquier ajuste, cambiar accesorios o almacenarla. Estas medidas reducen el riesgo de arrancar la herramienta accidentalmente.

Si el uso de la herramienta en un lugar húmedo es inevitable, use una alimentación protegida por un interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra (GFCI). El uso de un GFCI reduce el riesgo de choque eléctrico.

Almacene las herramientas fuera del alcance de los niños y no permita su manejo por personas no familiarizadas con las herramientas o con las instrucciones. Las herramientas eléctricas son peligrosas en manos no entrenadas.

Seguridad personal Esté alerta, vigile lo que está haciendo y use el sentido común cuando maneje una herramienta. No la use si está cansado o bajo la influencia de drogas, alcohol o medicamentos. Un momento de distracción mientras maneja la herramienta puede
causar un daño personal.

Déle mantenimiento a la herramienta. Compruebe que las partes móviles no estén desalineadas o trabadas, que no haya piezas rotas u otras condiciones que puedan afectar su operación. Repare cualquier daño antes de usar la herramienta. Muchos accidentes son causados por el escaso mantenimiento de las
herramientas.

Use equipo de seguridad. Use siempre protección para los ojos. El uso de equipo de seguridad como lentes de seguridad, mascarilla antipolvo, zapatos antideslizantes, casco y protección para los oídos en condiciones apropiadas, reduce de manera significativa los daños personales.
Evite arranques accidentales. Asegúrese de que el interruptor está en posición "apagado" antes de conectar a la fuente de alimentación y/o a la batería o transportar la herramienta. Transportar herramientas eléctricas con el dedo sobre el interruptor o conectar herramientas eléctricas que tienen el interruptor en posición de "encendido" puede causar accidentes.

Mantenga los accesorios de corte afilados y limpios. Los accesorios de corte en buenas condiciones son menos probables de trabarse y más fáciles de controlar.
Use la herramienta, sus componentes y accesorios de acuerdo con estas instrucciones y de la manera prevista para el tipo de herramienta, en condiciones de trabajo adecuadas. El uso de la herramienta para aplicaciones diferentes para las que está diseñada podría causar una situación de peligro.

Requerimientos eléctricos

ADVERTENCIA Las herramientas de doble aislamiento y aislamiento reforzado están equipadas con una clavija polarizada (una pata es más ancha que la otra). Esta clavija cabe en cualquier enchufe polarizado y sólo puede conectarse de una forma. Si la clavija no cabe en el enchufe, voltéelo. Si aún así no cabe, póngase en contacto con un electricista calificado o instale un enchufe polarizado. No altere la clavija en forma alguna. Ambos tipos de aislamiento eliminan la necesidad de un cable de corriente de tres partes con conexión a tierra o de un sistema de corriente eléctrica con conexión a tierra.

ADVERTENCIA Al usar un cable de extensión, asegúrese de usar el calibre suficiente para transportar la corriente que consumirá su herramienta.
