Introduction

This appliance is designed for straightening human hair only. It is not intended for use on artificial hair or animals. Results may vary depending on hair type. A trial on a hidden spot is recommended before first use. This hair straightener is not recommended for damaged or bleached hair.

Kmart Australia Ltd warrants your new product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period stated above, from the date of purchase, provided that the product is used in accordance with accompanying recommendations or instructions where provided. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Kmart will provide you with your choice of a refund, repair, or exchange (where possible) for this product if it becomes defective within the warranty period. Kmart will bear the reasonable expense of claiming the warranty. This warranty will no longer apply where the defect is a result of alteration, accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect.

Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase and contact our Customer Service Centre on 1800 124 125 (Australia) or 0800 945 995 (New Zealand) or alternatively, via Customer Help at Kmart.com.au for any difficulties with your product. Warranty claims and claims for expenses incurred in returning this product can be addressed to our Customer Service Centre at 690 Springvale Rd, Mulgrave Vic 3170.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

For New Zealand customers, this warranty is in addition to statutory rights observed under New Zealand legislation.

Important Safety Information

Parts Identification

The appliance consists of the following parts:

  1. Heat plates
  2. Temperature Up button
  3. Temperature Down button
  4. On/Off switch
  5. LCD display
  6. Swivel cord

Operation

WARNING! Never touch the hot heating plates. Always use the handle to hold the hair straightener.

ATTENTION! The heating plates cool down slower than they heat up.

  1. Fully unwind the supply cord. Make sure the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Place the appliance on a smooth, flat, dry surface.
  3. Connect the power plug to a mains power outlet socket.
  4. Press the ON/OFF switch; the LCD display will light up.
  5. Use the temperature setting buttons (2)/(3) to increase ('^') or decrease ('v') the plate temperature. Set the desired temperature in a range between 130°C and 230°C.
  6. The set temperature will keep flashing while heating up. "Ready" will be displayed when the device has reached the temperature you had set.

ATTENTION! The heating plates heat up very fast. It takes approximately 3 minutes to reach maximum temperature.

  1. When the appliance is ready, you may start hair styling.
  2. To begin straightening hair, take a section no more than 4 to 5cm wide. Place the hair between the two flat plates, as close as you can near the scalp.
  3. Hold the plates tight for a couple of seconds and slide the straightener in an even motion towards the ends. For best results, hold the hair while smoothing the section.
  4. CAUTION! Do not hold the hair between the plates for more than a couple of seconds, as this may damage your hair.
  5. When you have finished one section, move to another area of hair and repeat the process. Allow the hair to cool before combing through.
  6. After using, turn OFF the appliance. Make sure the power indicator has gone off.
  7. Unplug the appliance and put it on a table to allow for cooling.
  8. CAUTION! Allow to cool before putting it down or storing away.
  9. CAUTION! Always unplug the appliance immediately after use in case of malfunction or before cleaning.
  10. IMPORTANT! The appliance may provide different results depending on the hair type. Therefore, we recommend doing a trial on a hidden area of your hair before first use.
  11. This hair straightener is not recommended for use on damaged or bleached hair.

Keylock

After turning on the hair straightener for 10 seconds, it will go into the KEY LOCK state. The LCD will display the ? icon.

To unlock the buttons, press and hold the Temperature Setting button for 3 seconds. The ? icon will go off, denoting that the lock is now released.

Cleaning and Maintenance

ATTENTION! Turn off the appliance before cleaning and disconnect the plug from the power outlet.

ATTENTION! Do not use any alcohol, acetone, gasoline, abrasive cleaning agents, etc., to clean the plastic components. Do not use hard brushes or metal objects for cleaning.
