Main Functions

The device features a PTT switch, programmable side keys, a microphone/speaker jack, and a Li-ion battery.

Getting Familiar

The radio includes an Antenna, LED indicator light (red for transmit, green for receive), Speaker, Microphone, Channel-selecting knob (for 16 channels), and a Power/volume knob.

Power/Volume Knob: Rotate clockwise to power on, indicated by a "KADA" sound and welcome message. Continue rotating to adjust volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to power off.

LED Indicator: Turns red when transmitting, green when receiving.

Channel-Selecting Knob: Selects the working channel, with a total of 16 channels.

Side Keys: Can be programmed for various functions like Radio activate, Radio check, High/low power, Monitor, Scan, VOX, PTT, etc.

Unpacking and Checking Equipment

Carefully unpack the radio and check the supplied accessories: Antenna, Li-ion battery pack, Belt clip, Charger, Verification card, and User's manual. Contact us immediately if any item is missing or damaged.

Installing and Uninstalling of Supplied Accessories

Installing/Removing the Battery: Align battery grooves with the radio's guide rail and push until it locks. To remove, push the battery latch down and slide the battery out.

Installing and Removing the Antenna: Align the antenna's threaded end with the radio's top hole and rotate clockwise to tighten. Rotate counter-clockwise to remove.

Installing and Removing the Belt Clip: Align belt clip holes with radio holes and secure with the provided M2.5 X 5 screw. Loosen the screw set to remove.

Installing External Headset: Reveal the mic/speaker jack cover and insert the headset.

Launch and Receive Calls

Zone Selection: Zones are channel groups. Each radio can have up to 64 zones, with each zone supporting up to 16 channels. Navigate to Settings > Zone to select or change zones.

Selection of Channels, User ID, or Group ID: After selecting a zone, use the channel knob to select the desired channel, user name, or group ID.

Receive and Reply Group Call: The radio must be in a group to receive group calls. The LED indicator will be green. The screen will show RSSI, "group call", and the caller's name.

Receive and Reply Single Call: Single calls are for individual communication. The LED indicator will be green. The screen will show RSSI, "private call", and the caller's name.

Receive All Calls: This function allows broadcasting important notices to all users on a channel. The LED indicator will be green. The screen will show RSSI, "all call", and the group name or ID.

Launch a Radio Call: You can initiate calls using the Channel Knob, pre-programmed keys, or contact lists for group, private, or all calls.

Using Single Key to Launch a Group Call or Single Call: A programmable key can be set for quick group or single calls to a predefined contact.

Emergency Function

This function is for emergency situations and can be activated anytime. It supports three types of emergency calls: Emergency call, Call follow emergency alarm, and Voice follow emergency alert.

Receive the Emergency Call: Upon receiving an emergency call, an alert sound will play, and the LED indicator will turn red. The radio may automatically confirm the alarm if activated.

Reply the Emergency Call: Press the PTT key to stop the alarm and initiate a call. Hold the radio at a specific distance for clear transmission.

Emergency Alarm: This function allows sending a speech signal as an emergency alarm to another radio.

Logout Emergency Mode: The radio exits emergency mode after confirming the received call, reaching the maximum emergency call limit, pressing a pre-programmed call key, or pressing the PTT key. The radio will not remain in emergency mode after powering off and on again.

Menu Operation

Character Input: The alphanumeric keypad supports English, Chinese, and Digital input modes for entering user aliases, IDs, or text messages.

English Typing: Press a key multiple times to cycle through characters.

Chinese Typing: Input Pinyin and select characters. The interface shows Pinyin input and Chinese character suggestions.

Numeral Typing: Use number keys to input digits. Press '#' to switch input modes.

Menu Application: Press the Menu key (usually represented by a gear or similar icon) to access the menu, then use navigation keys to select functions.

Radio Check: Determine if other radios are active on the system without disturbing them. This function is typically for private calls.

Send Radio Check: Navigate to Contacts, select a user or ID, and initiate a radio check.

Monitor

Start Monitor: Use the menu to select Contacts, then choose a user or ID, and initiate a remote monitor. The radio will indicate when monitoring is successful or failed.

Contacts Setting

The radio's contact list stores aliases or IDs for initiating calls. Entries can be categorized as group calls, single calls, or all calls.

Group Call with Contacts: Select a group from the contact list and initiate a group call.

Private Call with Contacts: Select a contact and initiate a private call.

Call Log

The radio records recent dialed, received, and missed calls. You can check call details and delete entries from the Call Log.

Checking New Call's Number: Access the Menu > Call Log to view recent calls.

Deleting Calling Log's Record: Navigate through the menu to select and delete specific call records or all records.

Message Function

The radio supports sending and receiving text messages, with a maximum length of 144 characters.

Edit and Sending Message: Use the menu to compose, edit, send, or save messages. You can select recipients from your contact list.

Send Quick message: Utilize pre-programmed text messages for faster communication.

Send Quick Text with A Key: Assign a quick text message to a programmable key for instant sending.

Forward Message: Forward existing messages to other users or group IDs.

Editing message: Modify existing messages before sending.

Manage the Sent SMS: The "Outbox" stores sent messages. If the outbox is full, older messages are replaced.

Check the sent message: View messages in the "Outbox" and choose options like Resend, Forward, Edit, or Delete.

Send the sent message: Resend previously sent messages.

Receive Message: Incoming messages are displayed with sender information. Options include Reading, Backing, and checking message details.

Check the Message: Access the inbox to read messages. If the message is from an email program, a subject line will be displayed.

Manage Received Message: The inbox stores up to 20 text messages. Options include Reply, Forward, Delete, and storing messages.

Check and Read the Inbox Message: View messages in the inbox. Options to reply, delete, or forward are available.

Reply the Inbox Message: Respond to received messages using the menu.

Deleting the Inbox Message: Delete individual messages from the inbox.

Deleting all Messages in the Inbox: Clear all messages from the inbox.

Encryption

This feature prevents unauthorized eavesdropping by encrypting transmissions. The radio must be enabled for channel encryption to send encrypted data.

Basic encryption: Requires matching "encryption keys" on both transmitting and receiving radios.

DTMF

Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) allows radio operation during interference. It supports setting coding sequences for DTMF calls and can be disabled.

Secrecy

Activate or deactivate radios in the system, useful for lost or stolen devices.

Radio Kill

This function, applicable to private calls, allows disabling a radio remotely. It requires programming the function to a side key.

Radio Activate

This function, applicable to private calls, allows enabling a previously disabled radio.

Scan List

Create and manage scan lists (up to 16 lists, each with 16 members) to monitor channels. Supports mixed analog and digital channels.

Scanning Instructions and Methods

Auto Scan: Scans activated auto scan channels/contact groups.

Start and Stop Scanning: Use a pre-programmed key or menu function to start/stop scanning. The LED indicator shows scanning status.

Scanning Reply: The radio stays in the active channel/contact group during scanning for a pre-programmed time ("Scan hang time").

Settings

Radio Attributes: Includes Serial Number and Version Number.

Radio Configuration: Covers Transmitting frequency, Receiving frequency, and Channel Name.

Transmitting Frequency: Set the transmitting frequency within the allowed range.

Receiving Frequency: Set the receiving frequency.

Channel Name: Adjust the channel name. Squelch level can also be adjusted here to filter noise.

Transmitting Limit Time: Set the maximum transmission duration.

Color Code: Set color codes for digital channels.

Repeater Time Slot: Set repeater time slots for digital channels.

Power-on display Select: Choose the display content when the radio powers on (None, Picture, Word, All).

Radio Setting: Includes Language, Lock Key, LED, Converse LyAnn, Power, Zone, Data & Time, and Tone settings.

Language Selection: Supports Chinese and English.

Lock Key Setting: Manually or automatically lock the keypad to prevent accidental input.

Turn on or off LED: Control the screen backlight.

Conversely Ann Setting: Triggers an alarm when the radio is dropped horizontally.

Set The Power Level: Switch between high and low power for communication range adjustment.

Zone Setting: Change the active zone as needed.

Date & Time Setting: Set the date, time, and date format.

Tone Setting: Configure Profiles, Keypad tone set, Power tone set, and Message Tones.

GPS Setting: Enable or disable GPS functionality.

GPS Information: Displays latitude and longitude after GPS lock.

RX GPS Information: Shows GPS positioning information sent from other radios.

Warranty Service: The warranty period begins from the purchasing date. For failures under normal use within the warranty period (12 months for radio, 6 months for accessories), please bring the warranty card and purchase invoice to a designated TYT authorized repair station. Paid service applies in cases of improper use, accidents, unauthorized repairs, or force majeure.
