Getting Started
- Powering Your Radio: Choose from the included AC adapter, 4 AA alkaline batteries, or 4 rechargeable AA batteries. Rechargeable batteries can be charged using the AC adapter; set charging time with the F7 button and TUNING DIAL.
- Understanding Buttons: Familiarize yourself with the key buttons including POWER, FM/AIR BAND, LW/MW BAND, METER BAND, SYNC/SSB/RDS, PAGE TIME, ARROW buttons, and F1-F7 buttons.
- Basic Functions: The radio conserves battery by entering standby mode while still playing. Press any button to wake the display.
Operation
- Turning On/Off: Press the POWER button once to wake the display, then press it again to turn the radio on. Repeat to turn it off.
- Selecting Bands: Cycle through FM, AM, VHF (Air), and Shortwave (SW) bands using the dedicated buttons. SSB mode can be activated on the shortwave band.
- Selecting a Station: Tune to stations using auto-tuning with ARROW buttons, manual tuning with the TUNING DIAL, or direct frequency entry via the numeric keypad.
- Auto-Tune (FM): Scan and save FM stations by holding ARROW buttons. Use ARROW buttons to scroll presets and F1-F7 buttons to select stored stations.
- Setting Time: Turn off the radio. Press and hold PAGE/TIME to set hours, then minutes. Further presses allow RDS mode selection and 12/24 hour format.
- Sleep Timer: Enter desired sleep time (e.g., 30 minutes) using the numeric keypad, then press POWER. The sleep icon and time will appear.
- Using RDS: On FM stations with RDS support, an icon will appear. Press SYNC/SSB/RDS to view station name, program type, radio text, and time/date information.
