This readme provides information on the Dell Server Performance and Resource Optimization (PRO) Management Pack version 3.0. This pack can be imported into Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (Operations Manager) 2007 R2 and Microsoft System Center 2012 Operations Manager.
Dell Server PRO Pack integrates with Operations Manager 2007 R2 and System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) to manage Dell physical devices and their hosted virtual machines, utilizing health information from Dell Hardware devices.
When monitored objects transition to an unhealthy state (e.g., virtual disk failure or predictive drive error), Dell PRO Pack recommends remedial actions by leveraging the monitoring and alerting capabilities of Operations Manager and the remediation capabilities of VMM 2012.
What's New
- Support for Dell OpenManage version up to 7.0 on x9xx to yx2x systems.
- Added support for SCVMM 2012, which includes Virtual Machines Live Migration capabilities.
- Added support for additional Open Manage alerts and NIC alerts.

Notes
This section provides information to enhance your experience with Dell Server PRO Management Pack for SCVMM 2012.
- Dell Server PRO Management Pack does not monitor informational alerts. You must take appropriate action by examining the system health in Operations Manager's State view after implementing PRO Tips.
- Dell Server PRO Management Pack does not provide multiple alerts for sensors (inclusive of current, voltage, fan, and temperature). Only one sensor event is reported for any sensor state transition on a given system. After an alert is cleared, any subsequent alert is reported.
- Dell Server PRO Management Pack has a default discovery cycle of 24 hours. This discovery cycle time can be overridden.
- The "Management Station Action Account" requires Administrator privileges for system discovery and PowerShell execution.
- After a system is discovered, if Dell OpenManage Server Administrator is uninstalled or its services are stopped, the health of the Dell PRO Pack discovered system will display as "healthy." However, no alert or PRO Tip will be displayed in Operations Manager and SCVMM, respectively.
- All Unit Monitors are disabled by default in Dell Server PRO Management Pack.
- You can override any of the following recovery actions:
- Override the remedial action of restricting a server from hosting new virtual machines when migrating virtual machines.
- Override the remedial action of migrating virtual machines when restricting a server from hosting new virtual machines.
