Wireless Battery Monitor Setup Guide

This guide provides instructions for setting up your Wireless Battery Monitor using the Deltran Connected app.

Getting Started with the Deltran Connected App

  1. Install the App: If you haven't already, download the 'Deltran Connected' app from the App Store. Search for "Deltran Connected" and install it.
  2. Open the App: Launch the Deltran Connected app to begin the setup process.
  3. Log In or Register:
    • If you have an existing account with the Battery Tender® app, you can use the same username and password. Devices previously added to the Battery Tender® app will automatically sync and appear in the Deltran Connected app.
    • Accounts created on the BatteryTender.com website are not linked to the Battery Tender® app or the Deltran Connected app. To use these apps, please create a new account by selecting "New Account".
  4. Add Your Device: After logging in, tap the '+' icon in the top right corner or the center of the screen to start connecting your Wireless Battery Monitor.

Connecting the Wireless Battery Monitor

  1. Power Cycle the Monitor: Plug in the Wireless Battery Monitor. If it's already plugged in, unplug it for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
  2. Check the LED Indicator: Ensure the blue Wi-Fi LED light on the Wireless Battery Monitor is illuminated.
    • If a red LED light is on, verify that the cable connected to your battery is plugged into the black side of the Wireless Battery Monitor.
    • If the cable is connected correctly and the red LED is still on, confirm that the cable harness is attached to the correct battery terminals.
  3. Initiate Wi-Fi Setup: Tap on "GO TO WI-FI SETTINGS" to begin the configuration.
    • If the app does not automatically navigate to Wi-Fi settings, manually tap on the Wi-Fi tab.
    • Look for a network name in the format BM_XXXXXX. This indicates the monitor is ready for configuration if it hasn't been set up previously in the Battery Tender app.
    • If prompted for a password, the default is "12345678" (without quotation marks).
    • If you are connecting to a device that has already been configured, select the network name it was previously set up with.
  4. Confirm Connection: Once you have selected the Wireless Battery Monitor's network and see a checkmark next to it, return to the Deltran Connected app.
  5. Verify Configuration Mode: The blue Wi-Fi LED on the Wireless Battery Monitor should now be flashing rapidly (approximately 4 flashes per second), indicating it is in configuration mode.
    • If the flashing rate slows down before setup is complete, tap the back button in the Deltran Connected app until you reach the Dashboard. Then, repeat steps 5 through 10.
  6. Name Your Device: You have the option to rename your Wireless Battery Monitor during this step.
  7. Select Your Wi-Fi Network: If your wireless network was not automatically selected, tap on "SELECT ANOTHER NETWORK" at the bottom of the screen.
    • Choose a 2.4GHz network for the Wireless Battery Monitor to connect to.
    • Note: The monitor will not connect to a 5GHz network. If your router broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz with the same network name (SSID), you must temporarily disable the 5GHz band until setup is finished.
    • Connection strength may vary based on your router's distance and any obstructions between the router and the monitor.
    • In rare cases, the monitor may time out, and setup may appear to fail. If this happens, tap "Cancel", and the monitor will update every 10 minutes. If you do not see your battery's voltage, remove the device and repeat steps 1-12.
    • To remove a device, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the Deltran Connected app and select "Remove This Device."

Confirmation

Your Wireless Battery Monitor should now appear on the Dashboard screen within the Deltran Connected app, displaying the battery's voltage.
