Getting Started - MX Mechanical Mini

DETAILED SETUP

  1. Make sure the keyboard is turned-on. The channel 1 key on the keyboard should be blinking fast. If not, perform a long press (3 seconds).
  2. Choose how you want to connect:
    • Use the included wireless receiver: Plug the receiver into a USB port on your computer.
    • Connect directly using Bluetooth: Open the Bluetooth settings on your computer to complete the pairing. Click here for more details on how to do this on your computer. If you experience issues with Bluetooth, click here for Bluetooth troubleshooting.
  3. Install Logitech Options+ Software: Download Logitech Options to use all the possibilities this keyboard has to offer. To download and learn more about the possibilities go to logitech.com/optionsplus. The software is compatible with Windows and Mac.

PAIR TO A SECOND COMPUTER WITH EASY-SWITCH

Your keyboard can be paired with up to three different computers using the Easy-Switch button to change the channel.

  1. Select the channel you want and press and hold the Easy-Switch button for 3 seconds. This will put the keyboard in discoverable mode so that it can be seen by your computer. The LED will start blinking fast.
  2. Choose between two ways to connect your keyboard to your computer:
    • Bluetooth: Open the Bluetooth settings on your computer to complete the pairing. More details here.
    • USB receiver: Plug the receiver to a USB port, open Logitech Options, and select: Add devices > Setup Logi Bolt device, and follow the instructions.
  3. Once paired, a short press on the Easy-Switch button will allow you to switch channels.

Operating System Compatibility

Your keyboard is compatible with multiple operating systems (OS): Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.15 or later, iOS 14 or later, iPadOS 14 or later, Linux, ChromeOS and Android 8 or later.

For Windows, Linux, and Android users: Special characters are located on the right side of the keys.

For MacOS or iOS users: Special characters and special keys are located on the left side of the keys.

Battery Notification

Your keyboard will alert you when the battery is running low. The LED indicator will be green when the battery is between 100% and 11%. Below 10%, the LED will turn red. You can continue typing for more than 500 hours without backlighting even with a low battery.

To charge your keyboard, plug the USB-C cable into the top right corner. You can continue typing while it is charging. NOTE: The cable is for charging purposes only.

Smart backlighting

Your keyboard features an embedded ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the backlighting level based on the surrounding light conditions.

Vertical light reading under specific conditions

Light Condition Backlight Level
Low light - under 100 lux L2 - 25%
Mid light - between 100 and 200 lux L4 - 50%
High light - over 200 lux L0 - no backlight*

*Backlight is turned OFF.

You can manually change the backlight levels at any time. However, the backlight cannot be turned ON in the following situations:

Change backlighting effect

The MX Mechanical keyboard offers six different backlighting effects. By default, the effect is static. To change the effect, press Fn + the lightbulb icon ? on your keyboard, or use the Logi Options+ software.

Software notifications

Install the Logitech Options software to maximize your keyboard's functionality. You can find more information here.

Backlight level notifications

Visual indicators show the current backlight level.

Backlighting disabled

Backlighting may be disabled under two conditions:

Low battery

When your keyboard battery reaches 10%, backlighting turns OFF, and a notification appears on your screen.

F-keys switch

You can toggle between Media keys and F-Keys by pressing Fn + Esc. A notification will appear to confirm the swap.

NOTE: By default, the keyboard provides direct access to Media Keys.

Logitech Flow

Logitech Flow allows you to work seamlessly across multiple computers with your MX Mechanical keyboard. When paired with a Flow-enabled Logitech mouse, such as the MX Master 3S, you can control both devices on different computers using Logitech Flow technology.

You can move the mouse cursor from one computer to the next, and the MX Mechanical keyboard will follow, switching computers automatically. You can also copy and paste text and files between computers. To use this feature, install the Logitech Options+ software on all computers involved and follow these instructions.
