4 What is New in 4.3

Overview What is New

5 Checked Tunnel Infrastructure – Wriggle Survey & Best Fit Center

Tunnel Reports

Checked Tunnel Axis (CTA) results, also known as Wriggle Surveys, from Leica Captivate are now supported in Leica Infinity.

Best fit tunnel rings are available in 3D and can be exported to CAD as best fit circles. The Inspector provides results such as Best Fit Centre (BFC), best fit radius, and deviation for each measured point. Results can be viewed and saved to a PDF as a printable report with statistics and each cross-section for each ring. A tunnel design layer can be used for reference or context when generating cross-sections in the report.

Image: A 3D visualization showing a tunnel cross-section with data points, best fit circles, and associated measurement data. A table displays detailed results for points like P250 and P268, including Chainage, Northing, Easting, Ortho. Height, Best Fit Radius, Radius Std. Dev., and various offset values.

Checked Tunnel Axis Report

Results imported to Infinity from Captivate Check Tunnel Axis will be listed under the Checked Infrastructure group in Inspector. To generate a report, select the BFC measured points, choose 'Reports', then 'Checked Tunnel Axis', and finally select the tunnel layer for reporting.

Export Tunnel to CAD

The Infinity Tunnel Feature can be exported in DXF, DWG format for simplified data sharing. This allows users to view the tunnel feature, including tunnel layers and material surfaces generated in Infinity, in other software.

6 Surfaces

Texture Surface

Add texture to a surface using color from a point cloud. When a point cloud covers the surface area, its RGB values are used to drape the texture. Using point cloud textures enhances surface work in Infinity and can be exported for realistic representations in applications like VR or CAD software.

Optimise Mesh

A new option in Surface settings allows reducing the number of triangles when creating a new surface. This is beneficial for surfaces covering large areas or with high detail, optimizing by preserving geometric changes and simplifying flat areas.

7 Services – 12d Synergy

12d Synergy

Graphic: The 12d Synergy logo, featuring a stylized 'S' within a circle.

12d Synergy is a Common Data Environment (CDE) that provides project stakeholders access to necessary information, compliant with ISO 19650 standards and used in major Civil Infrastructure projects. Connect to the service via Backstage Services using user credentials and an application key to import and export data for listed jobs.

8 General Application Improvements and Fixes

Import Captivate

Captivate Quick-Stake application results are now supported. Import, view, and create staked reports summarizing all staked data.

Import Surfaces

Added support for OBJ, PLY, GLB, and glTF2.0 surface/model formats.

Export CAD

CAD files now include all Thematic Layers from the project Code Table, even if no features use those layers. CAD files also include all Blocks from the project Code Table, even if no point features use those blocks.

Code Manager

GNSS Post Processing

Design to Field

The Design to Field application is no longer included with the Infinity installation.
