The red LED light can certainly be seen in the dark.
What kind of battery does the Zacurate pulse oximeter use?
The Zacurate fingertip pulse oximeter uses 2x AAA alkaline batteries.
Does this pulse oximeter provide blood pressure readings?
The pulse oximeter measures the SpO2 (blood oxygen level) and the pulse rate. It does not measure blood pressure.
Does this pulse oximeter measure heart or pulse rate?
The pulse oximeter measures both the heart/pulse rate.
What is highest beats per minute (bpm) that this monitor can measure?
The display range for the Zacurate oximeter pulse rate is between 25 bpm to 250 bpm.
What type of batteries can be used to replace the batteries that come with the product?
The pulse oximeter requires 2x AAA alkaline batteries. Zacurate does not suggest the use of rechargeable batteries as some may not work with the device.
Does this unit record data for long periods of time?
The pulse oximeter simply gives real-time readings of the pulse rate and blood oxygen level (SpO2). It does not record data.
What is the real accuracy deviation of this Zacurate Oximeter?
The pulse oximeter has an accuracy level of +/-2%.
Are Zacurate pulse oximeters latex free?
Zacurate pulse oximeters are latex free. The hypoallergenic finger chamber is made of medical-grade silicone.
What are normal oxygen saturation levels?
The normal reading for blood oxygen is typically in the 95-100 range. However, there are certain conditions where this may not apply. Consult your doctor for advice specific to your situation.
Can I wear the pulse oximeter around my neck while on the treadmill to keep track of my oxygen and heart rate?
Zacurate advises users to keep their hand still while taking a reading, as movement can cause the device to reset its reading. For exercise, take readings during resting phases when the body is not mobile.
Will this device show irregular heart rate like in a person with A-fib or A-flutter?
The pulse oximeter simply provides readings for your pulse rate and blood oxygen level (SpO2). Consult your physician for advice regarding irregular heart rhythms like A-fib or A-flutter.
Will this work at higher altitudes (approximately 8,000 to 12,000 feet elevation)?
The pulse oximeter is calibrated to work at sea level. While it can be used at high elevation, it is important to know the normal range of your SpO2 at that elevation. Consult your doctor for the most accurate answer, as individual responses can vary.
How do I know if I have full battery capacity?
When the battery indicator is full and the red lights are all lit up, it is an indication that the batteries are full.
What is the battery life of Zacurate pulse oximeters?
The batteries usually last approximately 30-40 hours of active use, depending on the model purchased.
Does this product ever need recalibration?

Can I use your Zacurate pulse oximeter during sleep?
The pulse oximeter does not have a memory function and does not save readings. It provides a reading as long as your finger is inside the chamber. Once your finger is removed, the pulse oximeter turns off after 10 seconds. It is not designed for overnight use or sleep tracking.
Does the pulse oximeter take a reading on pets/animals?
This pulse oximeter is developed specifically for human beings and may not be suitable for animals. Consult your veterinarian for a suitable device for pets.
