Read and follow these instructions carefully to ensure the best performance of your new LG washer. For professional installation, contact an authorized service center.
Moving and Installation
Consider the product size and perform the installation at the designated site.
Unpacking
- Remove all shipping materials, including the plastic bag and packing supports. Retain all instructions for future reference.
- Carefully lift the washer off the foam packing base. Ensure the plastic tub is correctly seated and not loose.
- Note: Store the foam packing for future use. If the washer needs to be moved, the foam block will help prevent damage. Do not remove the foam block until the washer is in its final location.
Inlet Hose Connection
- Inspect the fittings on each hose and ensure a rubber washer is present at both ends of each hose.
- Connect the water supply hoses to the HOT and COLD water inlets on the washer.
- Verify that the fittings and rubber washers are correctly positioned.
- Tighten each hose connection by hand, then use a wrench to tighten an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
- Run a gallon or two of water through each inlet hose to flush out any air or debris from the water lines. This helps prevent future issues.
- If the water supply is not at the final location, use the provided hose to connect to the hot and cold water sources.
- Connect the hot water hose to the hot water inlet on the back of the washer.
- Connect the cold water hose to the cold water inlet on the back of the washer.
- Check all connections for leaks. Ensure hoses are securely tightened and not cross-threaded, as this can damage the valve.
Drain Hose Connection
To prevent the drain hose from coming off, leaking, or causing water backup, follow these instructions:
- Form the outlet end of the drain hose into a U-shape.
- Insert the end of the drain hose into a drainpipe. If the drainpipe is large enough for the hose flange to fit inside, do not insert the flange more than 1-3 inches into the drain.
- Use the provided tie or a screw to secure the drain hose to the installation site to prevent it from coming out of the drain.
- If the water valves and drain are not properly installed, ensure the drain hose is securely positioned to prevent contact with other components.
- If your drain line is higher than 1-3 mm, secure the drain hose to the installation site using the provided cable tie.
Leveling Washer
- Position the washer in its final location, ensuring it is near the water and drain connections. Place a level across the top of the washer.
- Adjust the leveling feet by turning them clockwise to raise a corner or counterclockwise to lower it.
- To confirm the washer is level, open the water fill and then close it. Observe the tub. If the tub is not centered (i.e., it leans to one side), readjust the leveling feet until the tub is centered.
- If the washer is not properly leveled, it may vibrate excessively during operation.
- Repeat the leveling check by opening and closing the water fill until the tub is centered.
