2. HARDWARE SETUP
2.1 ATTACHING TO DESKTOP/HOME COCKPIT SETUP
OPTION A: Using a Clamp
Secure your YOKO/YOKO+ to your desk using the included clamp (C). Position the YOKO/YOKO+ on the surface and tighten the knob (a) until firm resistance is felt. A diagram illustrates this procedure.
If your desk surface is thicker than 30mm (approximately 1.1 inches), Virtual Fly recommends using the "Extra Clamp," sold separately on their website: https://www.virtual-fly.com/shop/controls/yoko-plus#accessories.
OPTION B: Using Clamping Knobs
For custom home cockpit setups, attach your YOKO/YOKO+ using the included clamping knobs (D) to screw it into your support base. This requires a cutout matching the dimensions shown in the blueprint. All measurements are in millimeters.
For detailed measurements and customized setups, download blueprints from: https://downloads.virtual-fly.com/docs/yoko+/latest/yoko+_blueprint.zip.
2.2 CONNECTING TO PC
Connect the USB cable (B) to the back of the YOKO/YOKO+ and to the computer running your flight simulation software.
3. SOFTWARE SETUP
The YOKO/YOKO+ functions as a joystick (HID) on any computer, ensuring compatibility with all flight simulation software. Below are setup options for popular simulators: MSFS, Prepar3D, and X-Plane 11/12.
OPTION A: Using VFHub (Windows Only) - Recommended
VFHub is Virtual Fly's software designed to simplify the setup of their products, making it the recommended choice for your YOKO/YOKO+. VFHub allows you to fly without manual configuration of your Virtual Fly flight controls.
Download the latest VFHub version from: https://www.virtual-fly.com/setup-support. The installer includes VFHub and all necessary modules. VFHub is compatible with MSFS, Prepar3D_V4-V5, and X-Plane 11/12.
After installing VFHub, ensure your YOKO/YOKO+ is connected. Run VFHub and confirm the YOKO status in the Dashboard reads "Connected".
VFHub manages the compatibility of your YOKO/YOKO+ with MSFS, Prepar3D_V4-V5, and X-Plane 11/12. It must remain running while you use the YOKO/YOKO+.
For YOKO non-PLUS versions, calibration within VFHub is necessary. Refer to the "USER'S MANUAL" button within the VFHub software for detailed instructions.
Ensure a blank profile is set up for the YOKO/YOKO+ in the controls or joystick menu of your simulation software. Detailed steps are available at: https://downloads.virtual-fly.com/docs/vfhub/latest/setting_up_a_blank_profile.pdf.
To customize your YOKO/YOKO+ functionality, access the device's options button (⚙️) in VFHub's Dashboard. For comprehensive tuning and customization details, consult the "USER'S MANUAL" within VFHub.
OPTION B: In-game Configuration
This section provides a general guide for setting up your YOKO/YOKO+ with MSFS, Prepar3D, and X-Plane 11/12.
If you have a YOKO non-PLUS version, you must calibrate your device using Windows Calibration.
MSFS
For YOKO PLUS versions, the device is ready for MSFS. For YOKO non-PLUS versions, open MSFS, navigate to the options menu, select the controls menu, choose the YOKO from the device list, and assign buttons and axes as desired.
Prepar3D
Open Prepar3D, go to the "Options" menu, then "Key Assignments" and "Axis Assignments." Select the "YOKO/YOKO+" from the Controller list and assign buttons and axes. Follow the instructions in "Control Calibration" for device calibration.
Ensure the "Enable Controllers" option is checked in Options/Controls.
X-Plane 11/12
Calibration is required within X-Plane 11/12 for the YOKO/YOKO+ as roll/pitch axes and buttons are automatically assigned. Open X-Plane, go to Settings \ Joystick, select the YOKO/YOKO+ from the device list, and follow the calibration steps.
