Introduction
Glossary of Symbols
This section explains various symbols and warnings found in the owner's manual and on the vehicle.
Warnings
PRECAUTION! These warnings indicate procedures that must be followed precisely or contain information that must be heeded to avoid injury.
ATTENTION! These precautions indicate procedures that must be followed precisely or contain information that must be heeded to avoid damage to the vehicle.
Symbols
- A recycling symbol indicates that components should be disposed of properly to avoid environmental pollution.
- A symbol indicates parameters that can be adjusted, deactivated, or activated by contacting a dealer or service center.
Location of Warning Labels
Warning labels are affixed to the vehicle in several locations. They draw attention to important details such as tire pressure, the use of a towing device, airbags, the risk of tipping over, and hazards in the engine compartment.
Labels with the following symbols may also be found:
- A warning label with this symbol attached to the vehicle means: do not touch or adjust components until you have read the corresponding instructions in the manual.
- Labels with this symbol indicate that the ignition system is operating under high voltage. Do not touch ignition system components while the starter switch is on.
The following are specific locations for warning labels:
- Hood latch panel: air conditioning data, VIN plate (China).
- Top of the battery: warning symbols on the battery.
- Lower left of the windshield: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
- Edge of the instrument panel (passenger side): passenger airbag warning label.
- Sun visor: airbag warning label. Vehicle handling warning label. Disposal information.
- Right B-pillar: tire pressure/load warning label. Airbag warning label.
- Left B-pillar: airbag warning label, vehicle VIN plate.
- Rear of the fuel filler flap: fuel specification label.
It is necessary to familiarize yourself with these labels to ensure safe operation of the vehicle and use of its functions. Refer to the index at the end of this manual for relevant topics for more detailed information.
Health Protection and Precautions
Warnings
Your vehicle has increased ground clearance and, consequently, a higher center of gravity than conventional passenger cars. This provides broad off-road capabilities. The advantage of increased ground clearance is improved road visibility, allowing you to anticipate difficult situations.
The vehicle is not designed for cornering at speeds typical of conventional passenger cars, just as low-slung sports cars are not designed for off-road driving. Whenever possible, avoid sharp turns and abrupt maneuvers. As with other vehicles of this type, improper handling can lead to loss of control or rollover.
Do not park the vehicle on tall dry grass or other flammable materials, especially in dry weather. The heat generated by the exhaust system and the catalytic converter can cause a fire.
Before exiting the vehicle, ensure the selector is in the P (Park) position and the parking brake is engaged. When exiting the vehicle, check that you have not left the remote control inside.
Vehicle Stability
Warnings
Off-road vehicles, compared to vehicles in other categories, have a significantly higher tendency to roll over. Because these vehicles are designed for off-road use, they have increased ground clearance and, consequently, a higher center of gravity. This results in a higher risk of vehicle rollover.
Another factor that significantly increases the risk of rollover is unauthorized modification of the structure, such as installing tires with incorrect specifications, oversized tires, lifting the body, incorrect springs/shock absorbers, improper loading of the vehicle, and towing a trailer.
However, accident statistics also show that driver behavior is a more significant factor in determining the rollover coefficient of a vehicle than the center of gravity. The most effective driver behavior for reducing the risk of injury or fatality in an accident, including rollovers, is to ALWAYS WEAR SEAT BELTS and properly seat children in child safety seats installed in the rear passenger seats. In the event of a rollover, the risk of death for an unbelted person is significantly higher.
Vehicle rollovers often occur when the driver attempts to return the vehicle to the road after some or all of the wheels have gone off the edge or shoulder of the road. In such a situation, do not make any sudden or abrupt steering wheel movements or braking maneuvers to return to the road. Instead, before attempting to return to the road, slow down the vehicle as much as safety allows, and keep the wheels in the most straight position possible.
In the event of a rollover, the lives of people not wearing seat belts are at significantly greater risk than those who are wearing seat belts.
Data Recording
Parameter Recording
The onboard control system registers and stores current diagnostic parameters of your vehicle. This includes data on the operation and condition of various systems and components, such as the engine, accelerator pedal position, steering, and brakes.
For proper diagnosis and subsequent servicing of your vehicle, Land Rover specialists and licensed technical centers can access diagnostic information by directly connecting to the vehicle.
Event Recording
Your vehicle is equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR). The primary function of the EDR is to record data that can help understand the behavior of vehicle systems in specific collision or near-collision situations, such as airbag deployment or impact with a road obstacle.
The EDR is designed to record data related to the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle and its safety systems for a short period, typically 30 seconds or less. The EDR system installed in your vehicle is designed to record the following data:
- Operating parameters of various vehicle systems;
- Whether the driver and passengers were wearing seat belts;
- How much the accelerator and brake pedals were depressed, if at all;
- The vehicle's speed;
- The position of the steering wheel.
This data helps to better understand the circumstances that cause collisions and injuries.
Note: The EDR system records data only if the vehicle enters an unusual situation; data is not recorded during normal driving conditions; no personal data is recorded (e.g., name, gender, age, and location of the collision). However, third parties, such as law enforcement agencies, may use EDR data in conjunction with personally identifiable information obtained during a routine accident investigation.
Reading EDR data requires special equipment and access to the vehicle or EDR. In addition to the vehicle manufacturer, other entities with specialized equipment can read EDR data, such as law enforcement agencies, if they have access to the vehicle or EDR.
Land Rover does not take action to obtain information from event recorders without the owner's consent, except when authorized by a court order, at the request of law enforcement agencies, or by the decision of other authorities or by a legally valid request from a third party.
Other interested parties must obtain access to the mentioned information without involving Land Rover.

Components and Optional Equipment
PRECAUTIONS
Warning! It is particularly dangerous to install or replace parts or equipment if it requires disassembly or installation of new components of the electrical system or fuel system.
Before installing any optional equipment, be sure to consult your dealer or service center.
Installing low-quality parts or equipment can be dangerous and may void the warranty.
Before installation, you should consult your dealer or service center regarding the approval, suitability, installation, and use of any components or optional equipment.
Land Rover strongly advises against modifying the suspension and steering system. This can seriously affect the vehicle's handling and stability and lead to loss of control and rollover.
Electrical Equipment

Airbag System
PRECAUTION!
Warning! Components of the airbag system are sensitive to electrical and mechanical influences that can damage the system and cause improper operation or failure of the airbag control unit.
To prevent malfunction of the airbag system, always consult your dealer or service center before performing the following work:
- Installing electronic equipment, such as a mobile phone, transceiver, or automotive multimedia system;
- Installing devices that attach to the front of the vehicle;
- Any modifications to the front of the vehicle;
- Any modifications, including removal or repair of wiring or components near airbag system components, including the steering wheel, steering column, instruments, and instrument panel;
- Any modifications to the instrument panel or steering wheel.

Traveling Abroad
In some countries, it is legally required to install parts manufactured to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications. Owners should ensure before returning to their country that all parts and equipment installed on the vehicle in foreign countries comply with the requirements of domestic legislation.
