USER GUIDE AND INSTRUCTIONS

Dear Customer

Thank you for purchasing the VK 102 or VK 103 Air Purifier. This product utilizes advanced clean air technology to provide fast and efficient clean air. We hope you enjoy using your new unit!

The Viruskiller technology has been tested against major airborne viruses including Poliovirus, Influenza Virus, Adenovirus, and Coronavirus DF2 by the Institute of Medical Sciences, School of Medicine National Kangwon University. Testing proves a near 100% reduction for these viruses. The results for these airborne pathogens are consistent across the entire Viruskiller range.

Radic8's Viruskiller range (Hextio, VK 401, VK 102, and VK 103) is not FDA-cleared / FDA-approved.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING THE PRE-FILTER

VK 102

The plastic pre-filter is reusable. To clean it, follow this procedure:

  1. Pull out the filter case ①.
  2. Remove pre-filter ② from filter case and separate from carbon filter ③ and HEPA filter ④.
  3. Clean the pre-filter with a vacuum cleaner.
  4. Place the filter back into the filter case.
VK 103

The plastic pre-filter is reusable. To clean it, follow this procedure:

  1. Pull out the bottom filter case ①.
  2. Remove pre-filter ② from filter case and separate from carbon filter ③ and HEPA filter ④.
  3. Clean the pre-filter with a vacuum cleaner.
  4. Place the filter back into the filter case.
  5. Repeat the process for the top filter case ⑤.

Replacing the HEPA filter

When the Filter LED light changes to RED, it is time to replace the HEPA and Carbon filters. The HEPA and Carbon filters are not reusable and should be replaced. Please contact your distributor to purchase replacement HEPA and Carbon filters. Depending on the levels of pollution, the lifetime of the HEPA filter may be longer or shorter than the recommended use times below:

Procedure:

  1. Pull out the bottom filter case ①.
  2. Separate the carbon filter ③ and HEPA filter ④ from the pre filter ②.
  3. Replace them with new filters.
  4. Place them back into the filter case.
  5. For the VK 103: Repeat the process for the top filter case ⑤.
  6. Press the UP button on the Display for at least 5 seconds, to reset the Filter timer to zero.

Replacing the Reactor Cell

In order for the VK 102 and VK 103 to remain functional, the reactor chamber must be replaced every 8000 hours. Your unit will indicate that a change is required by displaying a "-0001" code on the LED Display.

  1. From the top PCB board ⑪, disconnect the 2 cables connecting the reactor cell to the back of the unit ②.
  2. On the side, you will see 2 long cables connecting the reactor cell to the bottom right of the unit. One cable is red and yellow, while the other one is black and white. Disconnect these cables and bring them to the front of the unit.
  3. Remove the 2 screws on the top ⑤ and 3 screws on the bottom ⑥, which attach the reactor cell to the unit.
  4. You can now remove the old reactor cell, making sure no wires are still connected to the main unit.
  5. You must now separate the top white part ④, holding the PCB board, from the old reactor cell and move it to the new reactor cell. First, unscrew the top 4 screws ⑤, that attach the white, metal box to the old reactor cell.
  6. Unscrew the 2 screws holding the component marked with ⑥, and disconnect the wires.
  7. Now carefully lift the top part, holding the PCB, and mount it on the new reactor cell in reverse order. Then place the new reactor cell inside the unit and assemble in reverse order.
  8. Now switch your VK 102 or VK 103 back on, press and hold the down button for 14 seconds, to reset the warning timer. Your VK 102 or VK 103 is ready for the next 8000 hours.

Cleaning the Air Quality Sensor (IAQ Sensor)

The IAQ sensor is a very delicate instrument that uses light scattering to detect pollution. It therefore needs a clean lens to work effectively. Regular maintenance (every 6 months) should be carried out to keep the lens clean.

Important - Only use pure water and allow to dry completely before replacing. To avoid damage to the plastic lens, do not use chemicals such as benzene or alcohol etc.

Procedure to maintain and clean the IAQ Sensor:
