Minelab F3 Detector Field Guide
Operation
Switch On
Activate the Minelab F3 detector. Allow approximately 12 seconds ⏱️ for the unit to initialize and stabilize.
Ground Balance
Perform ground balance by holding the search coil approximately 15 cm (6 inches) ? from the ground. Sweep the coil smoothly and listen for consistent audio feedback. Adjust as needed to achieve a stable tone.
Test Piece
Use a known target (test piece) to verify detector performance. Sweep the coil over the target. The detector should produce a clear, positive audio signal ✔️ when the target is correctly identified, and no signal ❌ when it is not.
Audio Reset
If the audio becomes unstable or undesirable, use the audio reset function to return to a neutral state.
Noise Cancel
If the detector is picking up unwanted interference, such as from electrical sources or power lines, engage the noise cancel feature. Hold the detector steady and allow approximately 45 seconds ⏱️ for the process to complete and stabilize the audio.
F3 Configuration and Components
The Minelab F3 detector package includes essential components for operation and transport. The detector's sensitivity can be adjusted using different endcaps:
- Black Endcap: High Sensitivity (Default)
- Red Endcap: Reduced Sensitivity
- Yellow Endcap: Detector Settings Customizable Via PC
