Our Bone Conductive accessories are built to endure the daily challenges of the Fireground and can be seamlessly integrated with existing breathing apparatus (BA) and helmets.
Entel offers two advanced bone conduction accessories:
- Throat mic
- Skull mic
Both models interface with Entel's quick-release submersible PTT unit.
These bone conductive accessories are approved for use with HT500 IECEx and HT800/900 ATEX series portable radios. Entel's Intrinsically Safe radios and accessories comply with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations for firefighters, specifically SOLAS 2012 MSC.338(91) Regulation II-2/10.10.4.
Skull mic CXR5/950
The CXR5 is a high-performance, low-profile bone conductive skull microphone that delivers clear audio transmission even in the most challenging environments. Unlike traditional headsets, the bone conductive skull mic is unaffected by external noise. The integrated high-quality earpiece ensures loud and clear reception. The fully adjustable Skull Mic is designed to fit most helmet types and connects to a Submersible PTT via a quick-release Nexus connector. The PTT features a rugged revolving clip for secure attachment to a belt or other suitable positions. Its large PTT switch is designed for easy operation, even when wearing gloves or under clothing.

Throat mic CXR16/950
The CXR16 features a high-performance bone conductive throat vibration microphone, providing clear audio transmission in noisy environments. Similar to the skull mic, it is not adversely affected by external sounds. The bone conductive microphone is positioned on the neck near the throat and secured with a soft Velcro band. Audio is transmitted to a soft 'D' shape earpiece. The CXR16 connects to a large, rugged Submersible PTT via a robust cable and quick-release Nexus connector. The PTT includes a revolving clip for versatile attachment to belts or other surfaces. The large PTT switch is optimized for use with gloved hands or under clothing.
