Operating Instructions

  • Insert battery: Rotate the battery cap (8) counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment. Insert a new 9V battery, observing polarity.

  • Metal detection signal: A metal object is signaled by increasing sound and vibration as the pinpoint tip (1) and side scan area (3) approach it.
  • Switch modes: Switch between tone+vibration, tone-only, or vibration-only modes by pressing the lower button (6) multiple times.
  • Adjust sensitivity: Change the sensitivity level by holding the lower button (6) and pressing the upper button (5) simultaneously. The sound indicates the current sensitivity level: 1 to 3 sounds correspond to sensitivity levels 1 to 3, and a permanent sound indicates level 4.
  • Alerts: If the XPointer has not been used for 3 minutes or the battery runs low, an alarm tone will play.
  • Maintenance: Keep the O-ring clean and greased.
