Attaching the Arm Cuff:
Ensure the monitor is powered off. Insert the air tube connector firmly into the air socket on the monitor unit. Wrap the arm cuff snugly around the bare upper arm, approximately 1-2 cm above the elbow. The artery marker on the cuff should align with the brachial artery. Fasten the cuff securely.
Powering On:
Insert batteries or connect the AC adapter (if applicable). Press the START/STOP button. The display will illuminate, and the device will perform a self-check.
Taking a Blood Pressure Measurement
Preparation:
- Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
- Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
- Ensure your arm is relaxed and at heart level. Avoid talking or moving during the measurement.
Measurement Process:
- Wrap the cuff as described in "Getting Started".
- Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will begin to inflate automatically.
- Remain still and quiet while the cuff deflates and the measurement is taken.
- The systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
Understanding the Results:
The display shows three main values: Systolic (top number), Diastolic (bottom number), and Pulse Rate. An irregular heartbeat indicator ? may appear if the device detects a pulse rhythm that is 25% or more slower or faster than the average pulse rhythm during the measurement.
Memory Function
