  • All other maintenance must be performed by a specialised technician.
  • When drilling, avoid damaging electrical connections or pipes.
  • Ventilation openings must always face the open air.
  • The manufacturer is not responsible for damage from improper use or incorrect settings.
  • Proper maintenance and cleaning ensure correct operation. Regularly remove stubborn dirt to prevent grease build-up. Clean or change filters regularly as per the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section.
  • Do not cook food over an open flame ('flambé') under the appliance, as this can cause fire.

Check the hob manual for specific minimum distances.

Installation

The hood is designed for 'suction' or 'recirculation' mode.

Suction Version

Steam is sucked in and conveyed outdoors via an exhaust pipe (not supplied) connected to the hood's steam outlet. Ensure the exhaust pipe is correctly installed in the air outlet using a suitable connection system. Important: If a carbon filter is already installed, remove it.

Air Recirculation Version

Air is filtered through one or more filters and returned to the room. Important: Ensure correct air circulation around the hood. Important: If the hood is not supplied with carbon filters, they must be ordered and installed before use. Filters are available at IKEA stores. Install the hood away from dirty areas, windows, doors, and heat sources.

Wall mounting accessories are not included as wall materials vary. Use fastening systems suitable for your walls and the appliance's weight. Contact a specialist dealer for details. Keep these instructions for future reference.

Environmental Protection Advice

Packaging Material: The packaging is 100% recyclable and marked with the recycling symbol ♻️. Dispose of packaging parts according to local regulations, not into the environment.

Product Disposal: The symbol ♺ on the product or documentation indicates it should not be treated as domestic waste. It must be taken to a suitable collection site for recycling electrical and electronic appliances.

Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING: Disconnect the hood from the electrical power supply before cleaning.

  • Clean surfaces with a damp cloth. For heavy dirt, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid to water. Dry with a dry cloth.
  • Do not use tools or other cleaning instruments.
  • Avoid steam jet cleaners.
  • IMPORTANT: Do not use corrosive or abrasive detergents. If contact occurs, clean immediately with a damp cloth. Use specific detergents as per manufacturer instructions.
  • Do not use abrasive sponges, scouring pads, or metal scrapers, as they can damage the surface over time.
  • IMPORTANT: Clean grease filters at least once a month to remove oil/grease residues.

Washing the Grease Filter

The metal grease filter has an unlimited service life. Wash it monthly by hand or in a dishwasher at low temperatures on a short program. Dishwasher washing may cause slight discolouration, but filtering properties remain unchanged.

Carbon Filter Maintenance

The odour filter should be washed and regenerated monthly. It retains odour-absorbing capacity for three years, then requires replacement.

Regeneration Procedure:

  • Wash in a dishwasher at maximum temperature with normal detergent. To prevent food particles or dirt settling, wash the filter alone.
  • Dry in an oven at 100°C for 10 minutes.

Light Bulb Maintenance

The hood features an LED lighting system. LEDs provide optimal illumination, last up to 10 times longer than conventional lamps, and save 90% electricity. Contact the Authorised Service Centre for replacement.

Manufacturer and Electrical Connection

Manufacturer: Ikea of Sweden AB, SE-343 81 Älmhult, Sweden.

Electrical Connection:

WARNING: All electrical connections must be made by an authorised installer. Verify that the voltage on the product plate matches the mains voltage. This information is inside the hood, beneath the grease filter.

WARNING: If the hood has a plug, connect it to an accessible, compliant wall socket. The hood comes with a special power cable (type H05VV-F); request replacement from technical assistance if damaged.

If the hood does not have a plug (direct mains connection) or the nearest socket is inaccessible, install a standardised double-pole switch for complete mains isolation in case of category III overvoltage, following wiring regulations.

WARNING: Do not weld the cables!

Data Plate

Technical specifications are indicated on the plate inside the appliance.

Control Panel

The control panel typically includes knobs for fan speed and lighting. (Diagrams show control knobs with settings for fan speed and light, and a motor ON/OFF button).

IKEA Warranty

Warranty Duration: 5 years from purchase/delivery date from an IKEA store. Proof of purchase (receipt) is required. Servicing during the warranty period does not extend it.

Service Provider: IKEA-authorised assistance service and its network of Service Partners.

Warranty Coverage: Covers manufacturing defects (functional defects) from purchase/delivery date for domestic use only. Exceptions are detailed under "What is not covered by the warranty?". Repair costs (parts, labour, travel) are covered, provided access for repair is not unduly costly. Conditions comply with EU directives (No. 99/44/EC) and local regulations. Replaced components become IKEA property.

Problem Resolution: The appointed assistance service will examine the product and, at its discretion, determine warranty coverage. The IKEA Assistance Service or its authorised Partner will repair or replace the defective product with an equivalent one.

What is Not Covered by the Warranty:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage caused deliberately, by failure to follow instructions, incorrect installation, or incorrect voltage connection.
  • Damage from chemical/electro-chemical reactions, rust, corrosion, or water (including limescale).
  • Damage from weather and natural events.
  • Consumables, including batteries and light bulbs.
  • Damage to non-functional/decorative parts (scratches, colour differences) that do not affect normal use.
  • Accidental damage from foreign bodies, or damage from cleaning filters, drainage systems, or detergent trays.
  • Damage to specific components like glass ceramic, baskets, pipes, light bulbs/covers, grilles, knobs, coating, unless proven to be manufacturing errors.
  • Cases where functional defects are not found by the technician.
  • Repairs not performed by authorised IKEA services or with non-original parts.
  • Repairs due to incorrect installation or non-compliance with specifications.
  • Improper use or non-domestic (e.g., professional) use.
  • Transport damage if the customer arranges transport. IKEA covers damage during delivery.
  • Costs of the first installation. Subsequent reinstallations by authorised services are covered.

Application of National Laws: The warranty does not affect customer rights under national laws (e.g., Italian Legislative Decree no.206/2005). IKEA warranty terms do not limit these rights.

Area of Validity: Services for appliances purchased in one EU country and moved to another will be provided according to the new country's warranty conditions, provided the appliance complies with and is installed according to that country's technical specifications and safety information.
