WaveLinx CORE is an on-site Smart Spaces Platform that moves real-time monitoring and processing to the edge of the network. It makes collected data--such as light level, and occupancy status--available to third-party systems through BACnet IP and the Published API.
What You Will Need
· Chrome 87+ or MS Edge 88+ on your computer · A list of IP addresses for the WaveLinx CORE, WaveLinx
Area Controllers (WAC), and/or WaveLinx Wired Ethernet Gateways (EG2) · Latest WaveLinx CORE and WAC firmware versions
Port Selection for WaveLinx CORE Enterprise
The Ethernet port noted below must be used for WaveLinx CORE Enterprise installations.

WaveLinx CORE IP Address Assignment
1. Connect WaveLinx CORE a) Power the WaveLinx CORE. b) Connect your laptop to the WaveLinx CORE using an
Ethernet cable, directly or via a standalone network switch.
NOTE: The WACs/EG2s must be on the same LAN or subnets connected by the router.

2. Connect to Device Setup a) Set the IP address of your laptop to a value in the
192.168.2.nnn range (e.g., 192.168.2.200) with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway blank. b) Use your Web browser to connect to WaveLinx CORE IP address (https://192.168.2.100 by default). c) Log in to the WaveLinx CORE as "Admin" (the default password is "BXLinx!5"). This will trigger a password change and require you to log in to WaveLinx CORE with the new password. The Wizard will be launched, but only the Network phase will be used at this point.
d) Enter (Manual or DHCP) the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway values from the Site Administrator. NOTE: Record the WaveLinx CORE IP address for later. IP ADDRESS: __________________________________
e) OPTIONAL: If you are setting up dual network interfaces with CORE Enterprise, enter the separate IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway values for the Corporate Network (typically Network Interface Card 2). IP ADDRESS: __________________________________
f) Click Next, then close the Web browser.
WaveLinx CORE LAN Setup
1. Connect WaveLinx CORE to Network a) Disconnect the Ethernet connection from your laptop to
the WaveLinx CORE. b) Connect the WaveLinx CORE to the LAN switch using an
Ethernet cable. c) Connect your laptop to the LAN.
NOTE: If you are using a static IP address on the LAN, please change your laptop's IP address to one that can access WaveLinx CORE.

1. Connect WaveLinx CORE to Network (continued) d) Use your Web browser to connect to WaveLinx CORE at
the IP address recorded earlier (STEP 2d: WaveLinx CORE IP Address Assignment). e) Log in to WaveLinx CORE as "Admin" (using the new password). f) When the Wizard starts, click Next, then click New System, to move on to the Date Time phase.
2. Set the Date and Time a) Select the Time Zone in which WaveLinx CORE
will be operating, and then select the desired Date Format. b) Select NTP Synchronization, then enter the NTP Server address. IMPORTANT: NTP Synchronization must be set up and enabled to obtain reliable data.

3. Discover Controllers (continued) d) Repeat the Controller selection in Step c) until
all Controllers have been imported. e) Click Next to move to the Building phase, and then
configure one or more buildings (use Add Building when setting up multiple Buildings).
NOTE: Be sure to set the time zone for each Building so that Schedules will function properly.
f) Click Next to move to the Floor phase, and then configure one or more floors (use Add Floor when setting up multiple Floors).
g) Click Next to move to the Area Controllers phase.
4. Set Up Area Controller a) Under Please select a floor, choose the
Building and Floor combination for the first Area Controller.

c) Click Next, and then confirm the WaveLinx CORE reboot required to apply the Date Time changes.
d) Wait for WaveLinx CORE to reboot, then log in, and then proceed to the Organization page.
e) Enter the Organization name, then optionally set the Working Hours (under Additional Details), and then click Next to proceed to the Discover phase.
3. Discover Controllers a) Click Automatic, and then click Discover Now. b) Verify that all Controllers are discovered. If any are
missing, ping each IP address (or telnet to port 8081) to test its network status. c) Once all connected Controllers are discovered, select the checkbox for each Controller you want to connect to WaveLinx CORE (10 at a time on larger sites is recommended).

b) Repeat Step a) for each Area Controller. c) Click Finish to apply your configuration, and then log in to
WaveLinx CORE when the system is available again.
Change Default Passwords
a) While logged in to the WaveLinx CORE as "Admin", click  (upper right), then click Admin, and then click Users. NOTE: The "Admin" password was changed earlier but if you decide to change it again, do so after the rest are complete to avoid being automatically logged out.
b) For each default account, click the Username, and then click Change Password in the User Details sidebar.
c) Enter and confirm a new, valid password, then optionally select Password Expires, and then click Save.
Verify Installation and Setup
Confirm that the WaveLinx CORE alarm and event monitoring is working. For example, disconnect one of the WaveLinx Area Controllers and check that an alarm is generated within 10 minutes.

Use a BACnet explorer, such as CAS BACnet Explorer from http://chipkin.com or BACnet Explorer NG from https://sierramonitor.com, to discover the WaveLinx CORE and it's associated BACnet objects. b) Set up the WaveLinx CORE Published APIs by referring to "Configuring the Published APIs". c) Set up the demand response interfaces by referring to "Configuring Demand Response". d) Review the applications of the Enterprise Dual Network Interface Card by referring to the following sections: - Enterprise Dual Network Interface Card Configuration (located in the Appendix) - Setting Up BACnet - Setting Up the Email Server
