Kwikset Smart Lock Setup Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up Kwikset Halo Touchscreen/Keypad and Aura smart locks using the Kwikset mobile app.
General Setup Process

Step 1: Initiate Add Lock
Tap the ➕ icon in the upper right corner of the app, then select 'Add Lock'.

Step 2: Select Your Lock Model
Swipe through the available lock models and select the one you wish to add.

Step 3: Choose Guide and Language
Select your preferred guide experience (Interactive Guide or PDF Guide) and language. Tap 'Continue' to begin installation.

Note: If the lock is already installed, tap 'Skip Installation Guide'.

Step 4: Enable Bluetooth Pairing
Follow the on-screen instructions to enable Bluetooth Pairing mode on your lock. Tap 'Continue' once complete.

Note: The lock will exit Bluetooth Pairing mode after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Step 5: Search and Pair Lock
The app will automatically search for the lock and start pairing once detected.

Note: If no lock is detected, tap 'Scan Again' or repeat Step 5.

Step 6: Confirm Lock Identification
If the correct lock is identified, a flashing blue status light and a long beep will occur. Tap 'Yes' to confirm, or 'No' if unsuccessful.

Note: If a flashing red status light appears, the lock may already be paired. Remove it from your phone's Bluetooth settings and repeat Step 4.

Step 7: Complete Pairing Request
Your phone will display a Pairing Request message. Tap 'Pair' to complete lock pairing.

Note: If you tap 'Cancel', pairing will fail, and you'll need to repeat Step 4.

Step 8: Name Your Lock
Once pairing is complete, you will be prompted to name your lock. This name can be changed later in the Lock Settings menu.

Note: You may see lock names like 'HALO LOCK: ####' or 'AU: ####'.

Step 9: Update Firmware
You may be prompted to update the lock's firmware. Tap 'Update' to begin this process.

Note: Firmware updates can take 3-6 minutes. Keep the phone within Bluetooth range and the app in the foreground.

Step 10: Set Up Access Code or Fingerprint
For Halo Series (Touchscreen/Keypad/Touch): Add the first access code to your lock. You can modify or remove this later from the Access Codes menu.

For Aura Series: Follow the on-screen instructions to add your fingerprint to the lock.

Step 11: Connect to Wi-Fi Network
Follow on-screen instructions to connect the lock to your home Wi-Fi network. Tap 'Continue' to scan for networks.

Note: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz and WPA2 protected.

Step 12: Select Wi-Fi Network
Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.

Note: If your Wi-Fi doesn't appear, use 'Scan Again' or 'Manual Setup'.

Step 13: Enter Wi-Fi Password
Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network and tap 'Continue'.

Step 14: Finalize Lock Activation
Once connected to Wi-Fi, the lock will contact the Kwikset cloud server for activation. This process may take 2-3 minutes.

Step 15: Complete Setup
Tap 'Continue' to complete the setup and return to the main screen.

Step 16: Lock Ready
Congratulations! Your new lock is now ready to use.
