JBL Charge Essential 2 Quick Start Guide

What's in the Box

The package contains the JBL Charge Essential 2 speaker and a USB-C charging cable.

Bluetooth Pairing

To pair your device with the JBL Charge Essential 2:

Turn on the speaker.
On your device, go to Bluetooth settings and turn Bluetooth ON.
Select "JBL Charge Essential 2" from the list of available devices.
Once connected, the device will show as "Connected".

Play

Press the Play/Pause button (▶️/⏸️) once to play or pause music.
Press the Volume Up (+) button to increase volume.
Press the Volume Down (-) button to decrease volume.
Press the Next Track button (⏩) twice to skip to the next track.
Press the Previous Track button (⏪) twice to go to the previous track.

Charging

Connect the USB-C charging cable to the speaker and a power source. The battery indicator will show the charging status (20%, 50%, 100%). A full charge takes approximately 4 hours (using a 5V/3A charger).

Powerbank

The JBL Charge Essential 2 can also function as a power bank to charge your other devices. Connect your device to the speaker's USB output port using a USB cable.

Waterproof IPX7

The JBL Charge Essential 2 is waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Ensure all ports are dry and sealed before exposing to water. Rinse with fresh water after exposure to salt water or pool chemicals.

Important Safety Information

To protect battery lifespan, fully charge at least once every 3 months. Battery life will vary due to usage patterns and environmental conditions.

Do not expose the JBL Charge Essential 2 to liquid without removing the cable connection and ensuring the charging port lid is tightly closed. Do not expose JBL Charge Essential 2 to water while charging, as it may result in permanent damage to the speaker or power source.

Chemicals, salt, or foreign particles in pools or the ocean can damage waterproof seals or the connector surface over time if not rinsed off after use. After a liquid spill or rinse, do not charge your speaker until it is completely dry and clean. Charging when wet might damage your speaker.

When using an external adapter, the output voltage/current of the external adapter should not exceed 5V/3A.
