Product Overview
The Braun TexStyle 5 is a powerful steam iron designed for efficient and effective garment care. It features a 2600W motor for rapid heating, a FreeGlide 3D soleplate for smooth gliding, and delivers up to 210g of steam for tackling tough creases. Key features include anti-drip, anti-calc, and an auto-off function for safety and convenience.
Operation
Steam Settings
The iron offers adjustable steam output. Use the steam regulator dial, typically located on the top of the iron, to select your desired setting:
- Dry Ironing: No steam is produced.
- Continuous Steam (eco/normal): Moderate steam output for everyday ironing.
- Continuous Steam (turbo): High steam output for stubborn wrinkles.
For an extra burst of steam, press the steam shot button [steam shot button]. The vertical steam function [vertical steam icon] is useful for refreshing hanging garments.
Auto-Off Function
For enhanced safety, the TexStyle 5 includes an auto-off feature. If the iron is left stationary in a horizontal position, it will automatically switch off after 30 seconds. If left vertically, it switches off after 8 minutes. A flashing indicator light [auto-off indicator light] signals when the auto-off function is active.
Rest Position
When not actively ironing, place the iron upright on its heel in the designated rest position [rest position icon]. Ensure the soleplate does not touch any surfaces.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Descaling
Regular descaling is essential for maintaining the iron's performance and longevity. Follow these steps:
- Fill the water tank [water tank] to the 'max' level.
- Heat the iron to the appropriate temperature setting. Wait until the 'iron ready' indicator [iron ready indicator] is lit.
- Activate the self-cleaning function by pressing the self-clean button [self-clean button].
- Allow the iron to cool down completely [allow to cool down] after the descaling process.
It is recommended to perform descaling periodically, especially if using tap water, to prevent mineral buildup.
Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues encountered with the Braun TexStyle 5:
- Dripping from steam vents: Adjust the steam regulator to the desired position or turn off steam. Increase the time intervals between pressing the steam shot button. Select a higher temperature setting. Check if the model has the anti-drip feature [anti-drip icon].
- Low or no steam: Check the water level in the tank. Perform the self-cleaning procedure. Ensure the temperature selector is set to at least the minimum steam setting (typically indicated by ••). Make sure the dry setting is not selected.
- White particles in steam vents: Perform the self-cleaning procedure.
- Soleplate not heating: Unplug the iron from the power outlet and plug it back in. Rotate the temperature selector from 'min' to 'max', then select the desired temperature.
