8. Operating Instructions

8.1 Device Button Icons

8.2 Record Video

8.2.1 Normal Video Recording

With a MicroSD memory card inserted, the device automatically starts recording with default settings each time the vehicle engine is turned on. The camera stops recording automatically when the engine is turned off. Normal video files are saved in the "NORMAL" folder (viewable in the GoSure app) with the system time (hour, minute, second) as a prefix.

8.2.2 Emergency Video Recording

An emergency file is automatically generated when the emergency button is pressed or when the device detects a collision above a certain force threshold. This file is stored in the "EMGREC" folder (also viewable in the GoSure app).

9. Additional Functions

9.1 Driver Fatigue Alert

The device includes a fatigue alert system to help drivers monitor their tiredness. It considers physiological and journey-related parameters, such as time of day and duration of driving. The device alerts the driver every two hours to remind them of potential fatigue.

A fatigue indicator is displayed on the device screen. A rating below 60 is green. Between 60 and 80, the indicator is yellow, and a warning alert sounds. When the rating reaches 80, the indicator turns red, accompanied by three warning beeps.

When activating this feature, ensure the system time is set correctly for accurate monitoring. If the feature is switched off, the fatigue rating will not be displayed.

10. Updating the Device's Firmware

10.1 Firmware Download

To update the device's firmware, download the latest file version from Philips.com or contact Philips Consumer Care for assistance.

10.2 How to Update Firmware

  1. Copy the firmware file (ADR820.bin) to your SD memory card's root folder.
  2. Insert the memory card into the device. Press the emergency button before plugging in the power cable.
  3. A green LED will blink, indicating the device is updating automatically.
  4. When the device restarts, the update is successful. Enter the menu and check the firmware version in "About".
