FW Check
Check FW version via:
- OSD Menu: [Status] > [FW version] on the last page.
- [USB PTZ Camera Controller] software: [Advance] > [FW version]

1 Device and Tool Preparation
Please prepare the following devices and tools before FW upgrade:
- VC Model: The VC camera unit.
- PC with a RS232 port or Laptop: For running the firmware update software.
- Mini Din-RS232 cable: Connects the VC camera to the PC/Laptop. (Description: 9Pin D-Sub Female to 8P in Mini Din Male)
- RS232-USB cable: Required if connecting with a laptop that lacks a serial port.
- Monitor: To view the camera output.
- Power adapter and power cord: To power the VC camera.

2 Connections for FW Upgrade
Note: Supported Operating Systems: Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10. The VC FW cannot be upgraded through MAC OS.
2.1 Connect the VC camera (RS232 Port) with a PC

2.2 Connect the VC camera (RS232 Port) with a laptop

3 FW Update
3.1 Download Firmware Tool
Please download the [Firmware Download Tool] from the Lumens website.
3.2 Launch the Application
Launch the [VC-B30U_Download_AP].

3.3 Browse and select proper FW file
- Check the box for each component you wish to update. (Uncheck the box if no update is needed for a specific FW file.)
- Refer to section 3, 'Current FW version check', to verify the FW in the unit and ensure you are upgrading with the same FW identified code.

3.4 Select ComPort and Start Process
Select the correct [ComPort] from the dropdown menu, and then press [Process] to start the firmware update.

3.5 FW Update in Progress
The FW update will start. This process typically takes around 5 minutes for all five FW components.

3.6 Restart the Unit
After the FW update is complete, please unplug and reconnect the power cord to restart the unit.
3.7 Apply Factory Reset
Apply the factory reset to the camera:
- Via Menu: Navigate to [System] > [Factory Reset].
- Via Software: In the [USB PTZ Camera Controller] software, go to [Advance] > [Factory Reset].
