Fuel Specifications
The grass trimmer features an air-cooled 2-cycle motor requiring a mix of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle synthetic oil with fuel stabilizer.
- Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 ([R+M]/2) or higher.
- Do not use pre-mixed gasoline from service stations (e.g., for motorcycles) or automotive oil.
- Use only oil specifically designed for 2-cycle air-cooled engines.
- Mixing Ratio: 40 parts gasoline to 1 part oil (40:1).
- Prepare the mixture in an approved container and mix thoroughly before filling the tank.
- CAUTION: Do not use fuel mixture stored for more than 7 days. Prepare small quantities.
- WARNING: Never smoke near fuel, during fueling, or while preparing or operating the trimmer.
- WARNING: Starting the trimmer without oil in the fuel mix will damage the engine.
Fuel Mixing Guide:
Use the TRUPER® ACT-2T OIL cap as a measure. Mix 5 capfuls of oil per liter of gasoline for a 40:1 ratio.
WARNING: An incorrect mix can cause severe engine damage.
To prolong engine life, use TRUPER® two-cycle synthetic motor oil.

Safety Warnings for Motor Tools
- Keep your work area clean, tidy, and well-lit. CAUTION: Cluttered or dark areas can lead to accidents.
- Never use the trimmer in explosive areas or near flammable liquids. DANGER: Keep at least 9 meters (30 ft) from fueling areas before starting.
- Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance. WARNING: Distractions can cause loss of control and accidents.
- Avoid contact with power lines and circuits. DANGER: Locate and avoid all electrical lines and circuits, especially hidden wiring and grounded objects.
- Stay alert, use care, and common sense. CAUTION: Familiarity can lead to distraction and accidents.
- Do not use if tired, or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. DANGER: Momentary distraction can cause severe injury.
- Operate with guards and protection devices in place and in good condition. WARNING: Failure to do so risks severe personal injury.
- Do not force the trimmer. CAUTION: Working within its design limits ensures better and safer operation.
- Store the trimmer in a safe place, out of reach of children. WARNING: Motorized tools are dangerous for inexperienced users.
- Wear appropriate clothing. WARNING: Loose clothing, jewelry, or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
- Keep hands away from rotating or moving parts. WARNING: Failure to do so risks severe personal injury.
- Do not operate in enclosed areas. DANGER: Avoid inhaling carbon monoxide, a potentially fatal odorless gas.
- Wear adequate protective safety accessories: eye protection, dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, helmet, and ear protection. These reduce the risk of injury.
- Turn off the trimmer before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing it. WARNING: Ensure the switch is in the OFF position.
- Never operate if the switch is not working or properly assembled. WARNING: Failure to comply risks personal injury; seek immediate repair at an Authorized Service Center.
- Do not overreach. CAUTION: Good balance and support improve control in unexpected situations.
- Avoid unintentional starts. WARNING: Ensure the motor is off before maintenance or storage.
- Remove adjustment tools before starting the trimmer. DANGER: Tools left on rotating parts can cause severe injury.
- Maintain the trimmer and ensure it is in optimal working condition before use. CAUTION: Periodically check moving parts, alignment, and assembly. Repair any damaged or malfunctioning parts immediately at an Authorized Service Center.
- Use only TRUPER-certified accessories.
- Never leave a running trimmer unattended. DANGER: Turn off and disconnect after use. Store safely to prevent injury.
- Never smoke near fuel. DANGER: Do not smoke near fueling areas or while operating.
- Do not touch hot parts. Engine and exhaust surfaces become very hot during operation.
Safety Warnings for Grass Trimmers
Fuel Handling
- Never smoke near fuel, fueling areas, or while operating the trimmer.
- Handle fuel with care to reduce fire/burn risk; fuel is highly flammable.
- Avoid skin contact with gasoline or oil.
- Protect eyes from gasoline/oil splashes. If contact occurs, wash immediately with clean water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
- Mix and store fuel in a container designed for this purpose.
- WARNING: Mix fuel outdoors, away from flames or sparks.
- Before refueling, turn off the motor, place the trimmer on a clear surface, and let it cool down.
- CAUTION: Clean any spilled fuel before operating.
- CAUTION: Verify there are no fuel leaks before use to prevent fire or burns.
- Move the trimmer at least 30 feet (9 meters) away from the fueling site before starting the motor.
- Never burn spilled fuel.
- Never use any fuel other than that specified in this manual.
Before Operating the Grass Trimmer
- Wear appropriate clothing: snug-fitting clothes, heavy pants, anti-skid safety boots, heavy-duty gloves, and safety glasses with side protection (ANSI Z87.1).
- WARNING: Remove any loose clothing or accessories that could be caught by the moving cutter head. Tie back long hair above shoulder level.
- Ensure the trimmer is in perfect working condition. Do not operate if it's not properly adjusted, assembled, or if the fuel tank leaks or has loose screws.
- Verify the cutter head stops moving when the throttle trigger is released. If it doesn't stop, turn off the trimmer and contact a TRUPER Authorized Service Center.
- Ensure the trimmer is clean, dry, and free of oil or fuel.
- Ensure the work area is open and well-ventilated.
- Clear the work area of stones, broken glass, nails, wire, or rope, as they can be ejected or get tangled.
- In extreme temperatures, check for ice formations or condensation.
- Ensure visibility and lighting are adequate. Do not operate if they are not.
- Do not use the trimmer without guards, or with damaged or missing guards.
When Operating the Grass Trimmer
- CAUTION: Keep bystanders, children, and animals at least 15 meters (50 ft) away.
- Ensure the cutter head is not in contact with any object before starting the motor.
- WARNING: Keep both feet firmly on the ground and both hands on the handles. Never operate with one hand, as it can cause injury to the operator and others.
- Keep all body parts away from the cutter head when the motor is running.
- Always keep the cutter head pointed downwards, below waist level, and no more than 75 cm (2.4 ft) from the ground.
- Keep body parts away from the muffler to avoid severe burns.
- Keep the trimmer away from flammable materials.
- Blades are designed for grass and vines up to 13 mm (0.5") in diameter. Use the circular saw for woody brush.
- Be alert to surrounding risks; the trimmer's noise may prevent you from noticing them.
- DANGER: If working near traffic, stop cutting when vehicles are present. The trimmer could eject particles towards moving vehicles, causing a severe accident.
After Operating the Grass Trimmer
- WARNING: Do not try to stop the cutter head rotation by any means other than releasing the switch. Wait for it to stop on its own after turning off the motor.
- CAUTION: Always transport the trimmer with the motor off and the muffler away from your body. Drain the fuel tank before placing it in a vehicle.
- WARNING: Turn off the motor before idling. Do not leave the motor running unattended. Let it cool before storing.
- CAUTION: Service and repairs should only be performed by TRUPER Authorized Service Center personnel.

Assembly
Handle
- Separate the hinge bracket from the straight axis frame by loosening the easy adjusting knob (a).
- Set the handle in the straight axis frame.
- Secure the handle by firmly tightening the easy adjusting knob.
- To rotate the handle 90° for storage or transport, loosen the easy adjusting knob (b).
Guard
- Fasten the guard to the cutting head using the bracket and bolts (A).
- If using the line spool, use the guard with the included protection (B).
- If using the blade or circular saw, remove the screw in the rear of the guard (C), press the two clips (D), and remove the protection.
Blade or Circular Saw Installation
- Set the turntable onto the cutter head (1).
- Set the blade or circular saw onto the turntable, ensuring the direction of rotation matches the marking on the guard (2).
- Set the flange onto the blade (3).
- Set the cover and lock nut (4).
- Insert the Allen key into the side of the turntable to block the axis (5). Tighten the lock nut counter-clockwise using the included wrench (6).
- Use the guard without the protection (refer to Guard section).
Note: The trimmer can also be used with circular saws (not included) that do not exceed the diameter of the included blade.
Line Spool Installation
- Set the turntable onto the cutter head (7).
- Set the flange onto the turntable (8).
- Insert the Allen key into the turntable side to block the axis.
- Place the threaded spool onto the axis and tighten counter-clockwise by hand (9).
- Use the guard with the protection (refer to Guard section).
Balancing the Grass Trimmer
- Wear the harness and adjust it for a firm and comfortable fit.
- Attach the harness to the harness ring on the straight axis of the trimmer.
- Adjust the harness ring height until the trimmer is balanced, with the cutter head pointing downwards, below your waist, and no more than 75 cm (30 inches) from the ground.
- When using the line spool, the cutter head should lightly touch the ground (A).
- When using a blade or circular saw, the cutter head should be approximately 20 cm (8 inches) from the ground (B).
Fuel Supply
- Follow safety standards for fuel handling (page 5).
- Wait for the motor to cool completely before refueling.
- Place the grass trimmer on a flat surface.
- Clean around the fuel tank cap to prevent contamination.
- Slowly loosen the fuel tank cap.
- Pour the fuel mixture into the tank carefully, avoiding spills. Follow fuel specifications (page 3).
- Check and clean the tank cap joints before closing.
- Immediately replace and tighten the fuel tank cap by hand.
- Clean any spilled fuel.
- CAUTION: Smoke emissions from a new motor are normal during and after the first use.
Turning On
Start Up with a Cold Motor
- Place the trimmer on level ground where the blade or spool will not contact any obstacle.
- Set the switch to the ON position (A).
- Press and release the primer bulb 10 times (B).
- Move the choke lever upwards (C).
- Simultaneously press the trigger release (D) and the throttle trigger (E), keeping the trigger depressed.
- Pull the starter handle (G) to start the motor. Do NOT pull more than 4 times to avoid flooding the motor.
- If the motor does not start, move the choke lever downwards (H). Pull the starter handle (I) again up to 6 times (or more in cold climates) until the motor starts.
- If the motor still does not start, repeat steps from (B).
- Once the motor starts, let it run for a few seconds.
- Press and release the throttle trigger to set the motor to idle (K).
- The trimmer is now ready to operate. Hold both handles and lift it to begin work.
Start Up with a Hot Motor
Follow the same steps as for a cold start, but do not use the choke lever (or ensure it is in the down position).
Turning Off
Press and hold the switch in the OFF position (E) until the motor stops.
Operation
CAUTION: As the operator, you are responsible for your safety and the safety of those nearby. Follow all safety warnings (pages 4 and 5) before operating.
- Maintain a balanced stance with both feet firmly on the ground.
- Hold the trimmer firmly in front of you, with one hand on the handle and the other on the auxiliary handle. Align the trimmer with your body, pointing the cutter head 30° downwards, away from your feet.
- DANGER: Do not start the trimmer in any other position.
- Turn the trimmer ON and cut from left to right, rotating your waist while maintaining the trimmer's position.
- As the cutting line wears, it will detach. To release more line, press the trimmer slightly downwards; the ground will depress the spool retention cap, releasing more line. The guard's blade will cut the excess line. Stop pushing the trimmer into the ground to conserve line.
- Cut brush or grass gradually. Do not attempt to cut from the base in a single pass, as residues can clog the cutter head or cause loss of control.
Maintenance
Before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing, turn off the motor, wait for all moving parts to stop, disconnect the spark plug cable, and keep it away from the spark plug. Failure to do so may result in severe burns or damage to the tool.
General Cleansing
- Use a brush or compressed air to clean ventilation slots on the starter unit as needed.
- Periodically clean motor cylinder and fan blades to remove debris. Failure to do so can cause motor damage due to overheating.
Air Filter Cleansing
- Remove the air filter cover by loosening the knob.
- Remove the air filter.
- Depending on usage, tap the filter lightly against a flat surface to dislodge particles.
- You can also blow compressed air through the filter from both sides.
- For a more thorough cleaning, wash the filter in warm, soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
- Reinstall the filter, ensuring it sits flush.
- Clean the air filter frequently to maintain motor efficiency.
Fuel Filter
- Check the gasoline filter regularly.
- Replace the filter if it is dirty.
- If the fuel tank is dirty inside, rinse it with gasoline.
Carburetor Adjustment
- It is recommended to have carburetor adjustments performed by a TRUPER Authorized Service Center.
- Incorrect adjustment can damage the motor and void the warranty.
Blade
- Check and maintain the blade in optimal condition.
- Sharpen with a flat file if necessary. Be careful not to alter the blade profile or sharpness to ensure best performance.
Spark Plug Replacement
- The motor uses an NGK BPMR7A spark plug with a 0.025" (0.63 mm) electrode gap. Replace the spark plug annually with an identical one.
- With the motor completely cold, loosen the worn spark plug counter-clockwise with a wrench and remove it.
- Insert the new spark plug and tighten it clockwise by hand.
- DANGER: Be careful not to damage the spark plug threads, as this can severely damage the motor.
- Tighten an additional half turn with the included spark plug wrench.
Muffler and Exhaust Cleansing
- Carbon deposits can clog the muffler and exhaust, depending on fuel type, oil usage, and operating conditions. If power loss occurs, deposits must be removed to restore performance. Contact a TRUPER Authorized Service Center for this service.
- The muffler contains a spark-arrest screen. After prolonged use, the screen may become dirty and require replacement. Contact a TRUPER Authorized Service Center for replacement.
- DANGER: Regularly check that muffler fasteners are secure and that there is no damage or corrosion. If a leak is found, stop the trimmer and take it immediately to a TRUPER Authorized Service Center for repair.
Lubrication
- The cutting head gearbox is lubricated with lithium-based multi-purpose grease. Add grease every 25 hours of use.
- To add grease, place the grease gun on the nipple (A) and apply 2 pumps.
Troubleshooting
Grass Trimmer Storage (1 month or longer)
- Drain the fuel tank into an approved container. Reuse remaining fuel in other 2-stroke engines (40:1 ratio).
- Run the motor until it stops to eliminate residual fuel and prevent gum formation that can damage the fuel system.
- Clean the trimmer thoroughly.
- Store the unit in a ventilated area, away from corrosive agents (garden chemicals, de-icing salt), and out of children's reach.
- Comply with all government regulations regarding fuel handling and management.
Problem Solving
