Speed Cameras
The TomTom Speed Camera Alerts service warns about hazards and traffic enforcement cameras, including:
- Fixed and mobile speed cameras
- Mobile speed camera hotspots
- Average speed cameras
- Speed enforcement zones
- Red light cameras
- Traffic restriction cameras
- Accident blackspot locations
Access this service via an internet connection. Note that availability may vary by country. In France, the service warns about Danger and Risk Zones. In Switzerland and Germany, speed camera alerts are deactivated due to local laws but can be reactivated for use outside these countries. Use of this service is at your own risk.
Reporting a speed camera location: If you miss an alert, report the location via the guidance view by tapping the speed camera symbol. A confirmation message will appear.
Note: Tap Cancel to delete a report.
Updating location information for cameras and hazards: After passing a mobile speed camera location, you may be prompted to confirm its presence. Tap Yes or No.
Danger and Risk Zones
TomTom's Danger and Risk Zone Warnings service is configured for France. Since January 3, 2012, warnings about speed cameras in France are illegal. Your device will warn you about danger zones and risk zones instead. Danger zones are permanent; risk zones are reported by motorists and are considered temporary.
Danger zones can contain multiple speed cameras. The minimum length of these zones varies by road type: 300m for urban roads, 2000m for secondary roads, and 4000m for motorways. Warnings may merge if zones are close together. Outside France, you will receive speed camera alerts.
