WIRELESS ACCESS CONTROL SUPPORT
Application Note
Introduction
DMP offers support for access control solutions in wireless door applications. This includes connecting the DMP 1134 Wireless Access Control Module to an XR Series or XT75 panel or using Assa Abloy wireless hubs and locks with DMP products. Each application can be designed to fit specific installation needs. This application note explains use cases for wireless door support and provides information on how to choose the best option for specific installation scenarios.
DMP 1134 WIRELESS SUPPORT
This application allows you to wire the 1134 module to the magnetic lock or door strike, then wirelessly connect the 1134 to the panel.
This setup works well in installation locations where it is difficult to run long lengths of wire from the module to the panel. This option is beneficial when doors can be easily modified to run cable or when you need to use wired locks for reliability or code compliance. Refer to Figure 1.
You can then connect a reader to the 1134 so users can use their access cards, credentials, or Digital Keys to unlock doors.
Components Required:
- DMP XT75 Control Panel or XR Series Control Panel
- DMP 1134 Series Wireless Access Control Module
- Wired door lock or strike
- Reader
Figure 1: 1134 Wireless Support illustrates a setup where a wired door strike or magnetic lock connects to the DMP 1134 Module, which then establishes a wireless connection to the DMP Panel.
ASSAY ABLOY WIRELESS SUPPORT
This application allows you to wire the DMP 734 Access Control Module or DMP X1 Series Controller to the panel and Aperio Communication Hub, then wirelessly pair the hub and door lock together.
This setup works well in installation locations where it is difficult to run wire from the module to the door, such as installations where doors are older or have frameless glass. This option provides centralized wiring with no wiring at the door when doors cannot be easily modified to run cable. Refer to Figure 2.
Users can then use their access cards, credentials, or Digital Keys to scan the reader and unlock doors. To use NFC compatible readers with this application, download and use the Aperio Programming Application.
Components Required:
- DMP XT75 Control Panel or XR Series Control Panel
- DMP X1 Series Controller or DMP 734 Series Access Control Module
- Aperio AH20/AH30 (Gen5) Hub
- Assa Abloy wireless door lock and reader
Figure 2: Aperio Wireless Support depicts a system where an Assa Abloy Wireless Door Lock connects wirelessly to an Aperio Communication Hub, which is wired to a DMP 734 Module, which in turn connects wirelessly to the DMP Panel.
