Installation and Wiring
The XTM controller is for 12V systems. Connect the battery first, then the controller recognizes the voltage.
Connection Procedure:
- Connect the battery first.
- Connect the loads to the controller's load output terminals (current must not exceed rated current; larger loads connect directly to the battery).
- Connect the solar panel (PV). The solar panel indicator lights up if there is sunlight.
Warning: Incorrect connection will damage the controller.
Terminal Identification:
- ① Solar Module Terminals With Fuse
- ② Battery Terminals With Fuse
- ③ Load Terminals With Fuse
- ④ Temperature Sensor
- ⑤ Charging Status LED Indicator
- ⑥ Battery Status LED Indicator
- ⑦ Load Indicator
- ⑧ Mode Display
- ⑨ Key Press Switch
- ⑩ Aluminum Housing
Battery Type Selection:
Step 1: Long press the key for 3 seconds; the mode number will flash.
Step 2: Press the key to select the mode number corresponding to the battery type:
- Mode 1: 12V Sealed lead-acid battery
- Mode 2: 12V Gel lead-acid battery
- Mode 3: 12V Flooded lead-acid battery
- Mode 4: 12V LiFePO4
Step 3: Press the key for 3 seconds to confirm.
Step 4: The controller will restart automatically.
Mounting
It is recommended to place the battery and controller in the same environment.
Mount the controller to a solid platform. Dimensions:
- Overall dimension: 82x100x20(mm)
- Installation dimension: 86x75(mm)
- Installation hole diameter: 3.5(mm)
Suggestion for Use
- When powered on, the controller automatically recognizes the battery voltage. Connect the battery first to ensure a sound connection.
- Install the controller in a well-ventilated area as it generates heat during operation.
- The controller measures ambient temperature for battery charging compensation.
- Cable size depends on conductor type and distance from the solar panel. Consult a cable size chart.
- Fully charge the battery regularly (recommended monthly) to maintain performance.

Troubleshooting
Symptoms | Causes and solutions |
---|---|
While sunlight is present, the solar panel (PV) indicator does not light up. | Check solar panel connection and contact. |
The solar panel (PV) charging indicator is flashing quickly. | System overvoltage. Check battery voltage. |
The solar panel (PV) indicator is off and battery voltage is normal, but there is no output. | The load will be switched on automatically after one minute. The battery may be failing to supply power. Check battery connection. |
The battery indicator does not light up. | Check battery connection. |
The battery indicator is flashing quickly and there is no output. | The battery is over-discharged; it will recover when recharged adequately. |
The load indicator is flashing slowly and there is no output. | Load power exceeds rated power. Reduce power-consuming devices and long press the key to recover. |
The load indicator is flashing quickly and there is no output. | The load is short-circuited. After resolving the issue, long press the key to recover. |
The load indicator is steady on and there is no output. | Check power-consuming device connections and reliability. Check wiring and system voltage recognition. |
