Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Cybex Sirona Zi. Please read this user guide carefully before installing the car seat in your vehicle and keep it in the designated compartment for future reference.
Important Information and Warnings
- The car seat must not be modified or added to without the approval of the Type Approval Authority.
- For optimal protection, use the car seat exactly as described in this user guide.
- Do not use forward-facing until the child is at least 15 months old and has reached a height of 76 cm.
- Install the car seat only on vehicle seats approved for child restraint systems, as per your vehicle manual.
- Do NOT install on the front passenger seat if the front airbag is activated.
- Only use load-bearing contact points described in this guide and marked on the restraint.
- The Newborn inlay is for protecting your child and should be used until they reach a height of 60 cm.
- Lap belts should be positioned as low as possible across the child's groin for maximum effectiveness in an accident.
- Ensure the five-point harness is correctly adjusted and fits snugly against the child's body before each journey. Never twist the belts.
- An optimally adjusted headrest ensures maximum protection and proper shoulder belt fit.
- The car seat must always be correctly installed and secured in the vehicle, even when not in use.
- The load leg must make direct contact with the vehicle floor. If your vehicle has footwell storage compartments, consult the manufacturer to ensure the floor can support the load leg.
- The car seat must always be locked in the rearward or forward-facing position while driving.
- Always use the Linear Side-Impact Protection (L.S.P.) for the best possible protection.
- The L.S.P. must not be folded out when using the car seat on the middle seat of the vehicle's back bench.
- The car seat has been tested and approved for use without the L.S.P. folded out.
- Ensure the car seat is not jammed against any surface when closing the vehicle door or adjusting the back seat.
- Secure all luggage and objects in the vehicle to prevent them from becoming projectiles in an accident.
- Never use the car seat without its seat cover. Only use an original CYBEX seat cover.
- Never leave your child unattended in the vehicle.
- Car seat parts can become hot in direct sunlight. Protect your child and the car seat from direct sun exposure.
- Replace the car seat after an accident, as damage may not be visible. Consult your dealer or the manufacturer if in doubt.
- Do not use this car seat for more than 8 years, as material quality may degrade over time due to stress and environmental factors.
- Clean plastic parts with a mild cleaning agent and warm water. Do not use harsh cleaning agents or bleaches.
- To prevent marks or discoloration on sensitive vehicle seats, place a blanket or towel under the car seat.

Different Uses of the Seat
45 - 105 cm, 0 M - approx. 4 Y, max. 18 kg: Use with Newborn inlay (1) and/or Comfort insert (2) until child reaches 60 cm. Size indicator (3) shows when to switch to forward-facing.
76 - 105 cm, > 15 M - approx. 4Y, max. 18 kg: Forward-facing use after child reaches 76 cm and is at least 15 months old.
45-60 cm: Use with Newborn inlay (1). [Note: Newborn inlay should be removed when child exceeds 60 cm.]
> 60 cm: [Warning: Do not use Newborn inlay.]
Installation in the Vehicle
Always ensure that:
- Vehicle backrests are locked in their upright position.
- When installing on the front passenger seat, adjust the vehicle seat as far back as possible.
- Fold out the Load leg (4) until it locks into its foremost position.
- Release the ISOFIX-Release buttons (5) to extend the ISOFIX-Locking arms (6). The buttons can be released independently.
- Push the ISOFIX-Locking arms (6) out to their furthest extent.
- Place the car seat on an appropriate seat in the vehicle.
- Push the ISOFIX-Locking arms (6) into the ISOFIX-Anchorage points (7) until they audibly "CLICK". The ISOFIX-Indicators (8) will turn from RED to GREEN.
- Ensure the car seat is secure by trying to pull it out of the ISOFIX-Anchorage points (7).
- Push the car seat towards the backrest of the vehicle seat until it is fully aligned with the backrest. Moving the car seat side-to-side will also brace it against the backrest.
- Press the Load leg adjustment button (9) and extend the leg until it touches the vehicle floor.
- Pull the Load leg (4) out to the next locking position to ensure optimal force transmission.
- The Load leg indicator (10) switches to GREEN when the load leg is correctly positioned on the vehicle floor.
- To activate the Linear side-impact protection (12), press the L.S.P. Release button (13) on the side facing the vehicle door. The L.S.P. can be deactivated if space is limited.
Securing the Child
- Rotate the seat to the boarding position.
- Press the Belt adjustment button (17) and pull both Shoulder belts (18) simultaneously to loosen them.
- Press the red button firmly on the Belt buckle (19) to release it.
- The Buckle tongues (20) can be attached to the integrated magnets on the cover.
- Place your child in the car seat with their buttocks against the back.
- Place the Shoulder belts (18) directly over your child's shoulders.
- Bring both Buckle tongues (20) together and lock them into the Belt buckle (19) with an audible "CLICK".
- If using a SensorSafe Clip, close the clip until it clicks and slide it down towards the Belt buckle (19).
- Tighten the Lap belts (21) and then pull the Central adjustment belt (22) to tighten the Shoulder belts (18) until they fit snugly against your child's body. The harness should be tight enough that you cannot fold any part of the strap.
- When using the SensorSafe clip, position it directly below the shoulder pads.
Removal from the Vehicle
- Unlock the ISOFIX-Locking arms (6) by pressing the ISOFIX-Release buttons (5) and pulling them back simultaneously.
- Pull the car seat out from the ISOFIX-Anchorage points (7).
- Remove the car seat and slide the ISOFIX-Locking arms (6) completely back into their transport positions.
- Push the Load leg (4) back into its original position and fold it in to save space.
Adjusting the Headrest
Use the Headrest adjustment handle (15) at the back of the Headrest (14). Ensure no more than 2 cm (approx. 2 finger's width) of space remains between the child's shoulders and the headrest.
Rotation Function
Pull the Position adjustment handle (16) on the front of the seat and turn the seat to the desired position (upright or rotated). It is recommended to deactivate the L.S.P. before turning the seat. Ensure the seat is locked into place before driving.
Adjusting the Lying Position
Press the Position adjustment handle (16) on the front of the car seat to adjust the lying position. The flattest lying position is recommended for children who cannot yet sit upright independently. Ensure the seat audibly clicks into place when adjusting the position.
Removing and Reattaching the Seat Cover
The car seat cover consists of 6 parts and is fastened at several points. Remove the parts by unfastening them. Reattach in reverse order. Remove foam from the Newborn inlay (1) and Comfort insert (2) before washing. The cover can be washed at 30°C on a delicate cycle. Wash separately and do not tumble dry or expose to direct sunlight, as this may cause discoloration.
