Product Features

The new series of Varmilo mechanical keyboards utilize high-quality mechanical switches and Varmilo's own EC (Electrostatic Capacitive) switches, ensuring stable internal structures and tactile feedback.

Daily Maintenance

To clean the keyboard:

  1. Use a keycap puller to remove keycaps.
  2. Turn the keyboard upside down and gently pat the back to dislodge debris.
  3. Use a brush to clean any remaining residue or dust.
  4. For stubborn residue, wipe with a clean cloth dampened with alcohol until clean.
  5. Allow the keyboard to air dry in a cool, ventilated place.

Caution: During use, avoid frequently plugging, unplugging, pulling, or bending the keyboard cable, especially for keyboards with detachable cables, as this can loosen or damage the keyboard's port.

Layout

The keyboard features a standard QWERTY layout with a full numeric keypad. The following elements are highlighted in the layout diagram:

  • 1: Escape (Esc) key.
  • 2: Function keys (F1 through F12).
  • 3: System control keys: Scroll Lock, Print Screen (PrtSc), Pause/Break.
  • 4: Multimedia keys: Music playback, Mail, Calculator.
  • 5: Bluetooth channel indicator lights (corresponding to channels 1, 2, and 3).
  • 6: Keyboard status indicator (e.g., power, charging).

The layout includes standard keys such as alphanumeric keys, modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Fn), navigation keys (Arrow keys, Home, End, PgUp, PgDn), and a numeric keypad.

Indicator Lights

The keyboard features several indicator lights:

  • 1. Charging Indicator: Solid white light indicates charging. Light turns off when fully charged. Blinks rapidly when the battery is low.
  • 2. Bluetooth Indicators (Number Keys 1, 2, 3): Blinks when waiting for pairing. Solid white light when successfully connected.
  • 3. 2.4G Indicator: Blinks when waiting for pairing. Solid white light when successfully connected.
  • 4. Num Lock Indicator: Lights on when Num Lock is off; light off when Num Lock is on.
  • 5. Caps Lock Indicator: Lights on for uppercase letters; lights off for lowercase letters.
  • 6. Scroll Lock Indicator: Lights on when Scroll Lock is engaged; lights off when unlocked.

Additional Indicator Functions:

  • Pressing Fn + Right Alt allows checking the status of Bluetooth or 2.4G indicators. Number keys 1, 2, and 3 correspond to Bluetooth channels 1, 2, and 3 respectively. In this mode, the indicator blinks when searching and stays solid when connected.
  • Number key 4 indicates the 2.4G channel. It blinks slowly when unconnected, blinks rapidly during pairing, and stays solid when connected.

Connectivity: Wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4G Modes

Switching Modes

  • With the USB cable connected, press Fn + Delete to switch between Bluetooth, 2.4G, and Wired modes.
  • When in Wired mode, pressing Fn + Delete switches to Bluetooth or 2.4G mode and connects to the last paired device. (On first wireless use, the default is Bluetooth channel 1.)
  • In Wired mode, press Fn + F1, F2, F3 (for Bluetooth channels 1, 2, 3) or F4 (for 2.4G) to quickly switch to the respective device.
  • When in Wired mode, unplugging the USB cable automatically switches to the last paired Bluetooth or 2.4G device.
  • If Bluetooth and 2.4G modes are off, plugging in the USB cable automatically switches to Wired mode.

Bluetooth Pairing

  • Press Fn + F1/F2/F3 (corresponding to channels 1, 2, and 3). The indicator light on the respective number key (1/2/3) will blink slowly, and the keyboard will start Bluetooth pairing for 3 minutes. The Bluetooth name will appear as "Varmilo VS-1", "Varmilo VS-2", or "Varmilo VS-3" depending on the channel.
  • A solid white light indicates a successful connection.
  • To disconnect a paired device and initiate re-pairing, hold Fn + F1/F2/F3 for 5 seconds.

Turn On/Off Bluetooth and 2.4G

  • To turn on the keyboard, hold Fn + Insert for 3 seconds. An indicator light for a successfully connected channel (1, 2, 3, or 4) will remain solid.
  • To turn off the keyboard, hold Fn + Insert for 3 seconds. All lights will turn off.
  • Memory Function: When turned off while connected, the keyboard will memorize the last connected channel and reconnect to it upon next power-on.

Power Saving Mode (Bluetooth or 2.4G)

  • Hold Fn + 1 for 3 seconds. The Caps Lock light will blink three times. The keyboard will enter power saving mode after 5 minutes of inactivity.
  • Hold Fn + 2 for 3 seconds. The Caps Lock light will blink three times. The keyboard will enter power saving mode after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Hold Fn + 3 for 3 seconds. The Caps Lock light will blink three times. The keyboard will not enter power saving mode.

Multimedia Functions

Light Effects

  • Brightness Adjustment: Press Fn + ↑ to increase backlight brightness. Press Fn + ↓ to decrease backlight brightness.
  • Breathing Effects: Press Fn + → to turn on/off the breathing effects. Press Fn + ↑ to increase breathing speed. Press Fn + ↓ to decrease breathing speed. (Note: Backlight brightness is not adjustable in breathing mode.)

Other Functions

  • Win Key Lock/Unlock: Press Fn + Alt + Win to lock the Win key. Press Fn + Win to unlock the Win key.
  • Fn/Win Key Swap: Hold Fn + Left Win for 3 seconds to swap the functions of the Fn and Left Win keys.
  • Fn/Ctrl Key Swap: Hold Fn + Left Ctrl for 3 seconds. The Caps Lock indicator will blink three times, and the functions of Fn and Left Ctrl will be swapped.
  • To swap back, hold Fn + Caps Lock for 3 seconds.
  • Application Key: Press Fn + Right Ctrl to activate the Application Key, which functions as a right-click menu for the current window.

Reset to Factory Settings

Hold Fn + Esc for 5 seconds to reset the keyboard. This action will clear all Bluetooth connections and restore keyboard settings to their factory defaults.

Attention and Compliance

General Attention: For all operations involving Fn key combinations, press and hold the Fn key first, then press the other combination key to execute the function. The release order of the keys does not matter.
