Preface

Varmilo is transliterated as "阿米洛" (Āmǐluò), derived from the Esperanto word "Via" "armilo", meaning your customized exclusive equipment. Varmilo, while ensuring excellent workmanship, hopes to meet customers' personalized customization needs. In addition, Varmilo also insists on creating within the limited keyboard space, trying to make users' desktops more rich and colorful.

Product Feature

The brand-new Varmilo mechanical keyboard series all adopt Varmilo electrostatic capacitive mechanical switches or high-quality brand mechanical switch cores, with stable internal structures and tactile feel.

Daily Maintenance

To clean a keyboard, pull out the keycaps using a key puller, then invert the keyboard and gently pat the back of the keyboard to pour out debris. Then use a brush to clean the debris and dust adhered to the keyboard. If residuals remain, wipe them with a clean cloth dipped in alcohol until clean. Then place it in a cool, ventilated place to dry. During use, do not frequently plug, unplug, drag, or bend the keyboard cable, especially for keyboards with separate cables, as this can cause the keyboard's port to loosen or detach.

Layout

A detailed diagram shows the layout of a 68-key mechanical keyboard. Key sections include the function row (F1-F12), the number row with associated symbols, the alphanumeric keys, modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Fn), the Enter key, Backspace, and arrow keys. Specific keys like CapsLock are also indicated.

Key Callouts:

• 1: Indicates various keys such as Esc, Backspace, Insert, PgUp, Delete, PgDn.
• 2: CapsLock key.
• 3: Function keys (F1-F12).
• 4: Number row with associated symbols.

Version Distinction

Two versions of the keyboard are illustrated:

• Classic Black (标准款): Features a charging indicator light (充电指示灯).
• Ariel (主题款): Features three-dimensional decorative pieces (正面立体装饰) and a nameplate (正面铭牌).

Matters Need Attention

• Bluetooth devices must be Bluetooth 5.0 or above.
• All operations combined with the Fn key must first press Fn and then press the combined function key to perform the function; the key release order does not matter.

Charging Indicator Light

• [Classic Black] Charging Indicator Light: When charging, the red light on the side of the nameplate is steady. After full charge, it returns to normal backlights. When the battery is low, the red light flashes, indicating the need to charge.
• [Ariel] Charging Indicator Light: When charging, the red light on the CAPSLOCK indicator is steady. After full charge, it returns to normal backlights. When the battery is low, the red light flashes, indicating the need to charge.
• CAPSLOCK Indicator: White light when capitalized, returns to normal backlight when lowercase.
• Bluetooth Indicator: Q, W, E key indicators corresponding to the channel light blinking blue indicate waiting for pairing; after successful connection, the blue light turns off.
• 2.4G Indicator: The R key indicator blinks green to indicate waiting for pairing; after successful connection, the green light turns off.

Wired, Wireless (Bluetooth & 2.4G) Channel Switching

The wireless mode switch is located underneath the CAPSLOCK key. You need to remove the keycap to toggle the switch.

• Flip the switch upward for wireless mode.
• Flip the switch downward for wired mode.
• When in wireless mode, you can choose Bluetooth or 2.4G to connect.
• When the keyboard is in wireless mode, connecting the charging cable is for charging the keyboard.

Bluetooth Mode Connection Operation

• Flip the switch upwards to switch to wireless mode. On the device you need to connect to, turn on Bluetooth to search.
• The Bluetooth name of the keyboard is "Varmilo S68".
• Bluetooth searchable time is 2 minutes.
• Press Fn+Q/W/E to switch Bluetooth channels. Upon initial switching, the Q/W/E key blue light flashes, entering pairing mode. After connecting the device, it returns to the previous backlight mode.
• After successful setup, switching Bluetooth channels will automatically match the configured devices.
• Long press Fn+Q/W/E for three seconds to reset the corresponding Bluetooth channel and re-enter pairing mode.
• Long press Fn+X for 3 seconds; the backlight (white) flashes 3 times to clear previous Bluetooth pairing records (this can only be done in Bluetooth mode).

2.4G Pairing Operation

• Flip the switch upwards to switch to wireless mode. Long press Fn+R for 3 seconds for 2.4G pairing. The green light under the R key flashes, indicating pairing mode. Plug in the 2.4G receiver to use.
• The code matching time is 20 seconds, and the backlight mode will be restored after successful code matching. (The factory has been paired; simply plug in the receiver to use.)

Light Effect

• Light effect switching: Fn+Left Shift or Right Shift switches to the previous or next light effect mode under the current light effect.
• Color switching: Fn+ "{" or "}" switches to the previous or next color under monochrome light effects.
• Lighting Speed: Fn+ "←" or "→" reduces or increases the dynamic speed of the current RGB light effect.
• Lamp Brightness: Fn+ "↓" or "↑" reduces or increases the light effect brightness of the current RGB light effect.
• Light effect restore: Long press Fn + "D" for 3 seconds to restore factory settings.

Tap Layer Function Introduction

• The Tap layer function can be enabled or disabled in Driver-Global Settings.
• When the Tap function is enabled, a long press on the Tap key triggers the Tap layer function, and a short press on the Tap key triggers the original key value.
• The higher the sensitivity, the shorter the key press time required to trigger the Tap function.
• Switch to the Tap layer in the driver software's key settings to modify the Tap layer function.

Multimedia Function

Hibernation and Shutdown

After 6 minutes of no key operation, the keyboard backlight turns off. After 30 minutes of no operation, it enters sleep mode. Press any key to exit sleep mode. (The dormancy time can be adjusted in the driver software).

Flip the switch under the CAPSLOCK key to turn off Bluetooth/2.4G mode. In wired mode, unplugging the cable will shut down the device.

Mac Mode - Multi-Media Keys

System Switching

Long press Fn + Tab for 5 seconds to switch between Win or Mac system. The charging indicator (for Ariel, it's the CAPSLOCK light) flashes white for 3 seconds and then turns off.

Driver Function Description

• Global Settings: View device information, modify driver language, boot up, toggle Tap layer on/off, sleep mode, delay, reset.
• Key Setting: Modify key assignments for Base Layer, Fn1 Layer, Fn2 Layer, and Tap Layer. You can set keys to other keys, macros, shortcuts, and mouse functions.
• Light Mode settings: Switch light modes, change light colors, and customize light effects.
• Music Rhythm: Enable music rhythm and switch music rhythm light effects.
• Macro Settings: Type and record custom macros.
• Delay adjustment: Adjust the keyboard's response speed.

Visit the Varmilo website (https://keyboard.varmilo.com), go to Technical Support, search for the model number in the search bar, or click the Driver button to find the corresponding model driver.

Hold down Fn + Tab key for 5 seconds to switch between Win or Mac mode.

• When the keyboard is used for the first time, the default mode is Win mode.
• [Lalic and Black]: The indicator on the nameplate flashes white for three seconds, indicating the switch is successful.
• [Ariel]: The CAPSLOCK key indicator blinks white for three seconds, indicating the switchover is successful.

Varmilo Warranty Service Information

• Varmilo provides a one-year free warranty service for keyboards and a three-month warranty for accessories from the date of order receipt.
• The warranty period is based on this card and the date of purchase. Please keep it properly. If you lose this card, you can still use the purchase voucher (invoice, receipt) and e-commerce purchase information as proof of warranty.
• Free warranty service is only applicable to non-human quality issues under normal use. If the product is damaged due to human factors or force majeure, free warranty service cannot be provided. Human factors include external damage (impact, scraping, etc.), liquid ingress (water, beverages, etc.), unauthorized disassembly, removal of product serial numbers or warranty stickers, etc. Force majeure includes damage caused by floods, dampness, rodent damage, and other natural disasters.
• For products with printed patterns on the cases, please avoid cleaning with alcohol and use clean water or alcohol-free cleaning products.

Maintenance Instructions

• During the warranty period, you can enjoy free warranty service. If the free warranty period is exceeded, Varmilo will still provide paid maintenance service.

Certificate of Approval

A certificate of approval is included, confirming the product is a mechanical keyboard, inspected and approved for factory release according to standard GB/T 14081-2010.
