Safety Precautions

Please read these "Safety Precautions" carefully before installing or operating the remote controller. This manual classifies precautions into WARNINGS and CAUTIONS.

WARNING

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.

  • Installation: Installation work must be carried out by your dealer or qualified personnel. Do not attempt self-installation, as improper installation may cause electric shocks or fire.
  • Relocation/Reinstallation: Consult your local dealer for relocation and reinstallation. Improper procedures may lead to electric shocks or fire.
  • Installation Compliance: Install the remote controller according to this manual and applicable legislation. Improper installation may cause electric shocks or fire.
  • Accessories: Use only specified accessories and parts. Failure to do so may result in the controller falling, electric shocks, or fire.
  • Mounting: Install on a foundation that can withstand its mass to prevent falling and injury.
  • Electrical Work: Ensure all electrical work is performed by qualified personnel according to applicable legislation and this manual, using a separate circuit. Use wiring with sufficient length; do not connect additional wiring. Insufficient capacity or improper construction may lead to electric shocks or fire. (Note 1 defines applicable legislation).
  • Power: Turn off the power before installation. Touching live parts can cause electric shocks.
  • Repair: Do not disassemble, reconstruct, or repair. Doing so may cause electric shock or fire.
  • Wiring Security: Ensure all wiring is secured, using specified wirings, and that external forces do not act on terminals. Improper connections may cause overheating or fire.
  • Standards: Material choice and installation must comply with applicable national and international standards.

CAUTION

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices.

  • Water/Insects: To prevent electric shocks from water or insects, fill wiring through holes with putty.
  • Wet Hands: Do not operate with wet hands to avoid electric shocks.
  • Washing: Do not wash the remote controller with water. This may cause electric shock or fire.
  • Interference: Install the air conditioner, power supply wiring, remote controller wiring, and transmission wiring at least 1 meter away from televisions or radios to prevent image interference or noise. (1 meter may not be sufficient depending on radio waves).
  • Unsuitable Locations: Do not install in:
    1. Areas with oil mist, oil spray, or vapor (e.g., kitchens), as resin parts may deteriorate.
    2. Areas where corrosive gas (e.g., sulphurous acid gas) is produced.
    3. Areas with machinery emitting electromagnetic waves, which may disturb the control system and cause malfunctions.
    4. Areas where flammable gas may leak, or where flammable dust or volatile flammables (thinner, gasoline) are handled, as this may result in fire.
    5. High temperature areas or near heat sources, which may cause overheating or fire.
    6. Moist areas or places exposed to water, as water ingress can cause component failure, electric shocks, or fire.
  • Thermostat Sensor Location: When using the thermostat sensor, select a location that:
    • Detects the average room temperature.
    • Is not exposed to direct sunlight.
    • Is far from heat sources.
    • Is not affected by outdoor air (e.g., door opening/closing).

Maintenance

Maintaining the Unit and LCD Display

  • Wipe the LCD and surface of the remote controller with a dry cloth when dirty.
  • If dirt is stubborn, dampen a cloth with neutral detergent diluted in water, squeeze it tightly, clean the surface, and then wipe with a dry cloth.
  • Do not use non-neutral detergents or organic solvents (alcohol disinfectant, benzene, paint thinner, etc.), as they may cause cracking, electric shocks, or fire.

NOTICE

Do not use any paint thinner, organic solvent, or strong acid.
