This document provides instructions for the ProtoArc KM100-A, a backlit Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo designed for Mac devices. It covers product functions, Bluetooth connectivity for macOS and iOS, charging, mode switching, multimedia keys, and technical specifications.
Product Function
The keyboard and mouse feature several indicator lights and controls:
Keyboard Features:
- Bluetooth Indicator Lights (1, 2, 3): Indicate connection status for Bluetooth channels.
- Mode Switch Button: Used to switch between connected Bluetooth devices.
- Power Switch: Turns the device ON or OFF.
- Type-C Charging Port: For charging the device.
- Charging Indicator / Caps Lock Indicator: Shows charging status and Caps Lock status.
- Backlight Control Keys: Adjust backlight brightness (30%, 60%, 100%) and turn it off. The backlight automatically turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity and can be woken up by pressing any key. It enters hibernation after 30 minutes of inactivity, requiring any key press to wake up and the backlight to be turned on again.
Mouse Features:
- Power Switch: Turns the mouse ON or OFF.
- Mode Switch Button: Used to switch between connected Bluetooth devices.
- Bluetooth Indicator Lights (1, 2, 3): Indicate connection status for Bluetooth channels.
- Type-C Charging Port: For charging the device.
- Power Indicator Light / Charging Indicator Light: Shows power status and charging status (red to green).
Bluetooth Connection - Mouse
General Steps:
- Switch the mouse power switch to ON.
- Press the Mode Switch Button on the bottom of the mouse until the 1/2/3 light is on, indicating Bluetooth mode.
- Long press the Mode Switch Button for 3-5 seconds until the 1/2/3 light flashes quickly, indicating Bluetooth pairing mode.
Connecting to Mac OS:
- Find "System Preferences" on your Mac.
- Choose "Bluetooth" in System Preferences.
- Search for and click to pair the "ProtoArc KM100-A". The device will show as "Connected" upon successful pairing.
Connecting to iOS (iPad/iPhone):
- Open "Settings" and turn on Bluetooth function.
- Search for and click to pair the "ProtoArc KM100-A".
- A Bluetooth Pairing Request will appear; tap "Pair". The device will show as "ProtoArc KM100-A Connected" when successfully paired.
Bluetooth Connection - Keyboard
General Steps:
- Turn on the power switch.
- Press the Bluetooth channel button (1, 2, or 3) once. The white indicator light flashes, indicating Bluetooth mode.
- Long press the Bluetooth channel button for 3-5 seconds. The white indicator light flashes quickly, indicating Bluetooth pairing mode.
Connecting to Mac OS:
- Find "System Preferences" on your Mac.
- Choose "Bluetooth" in System Preferences.
- Search for and click to pair the "ProtoArc KM100-A". The device will show as "Connected" upon successful pairing.
Connecting to iOS (iPad/iPhone):
- Open "Settings" and turn on Bluetooth function.
- Search for and click to pair the "ProtoArc KM100-A".
- A Bluetooth Pairing Request will appear; tap "Pair". The device will show as "ProtoArc KM100-A Connected" when successfully paired.
Charging
Keyboard Charging:
Connect the included charging cable to the Type-C charging port on the keyboard. The charging indicator turns from red to green when fully charged. When the battery is very low, the low power indicator will flash white quickly, and typing may be delayed. Charge the keyboard to ensure normal operation.
Mouse Charging:
Connect the included charging cable to the Type-C charging port on the mouse. The low battery indicator will flash red when the battery is very low. Charge the mouse to ensure proper operation. The charging indicator turns from red to green when fully charged.
Mode Switch Method
After connecting up to three devices via Bluetooth channels 1, 2, and 3, short press the respective Bluetooth channel button to switch between the connected devices.
Keyboard Mode Switching:
Short press the Bluetooth channel button (1, 2, or 3) to switch between the devices that are already connected. Wait for 3 seconds for the connection to stabilize.
Mouse Mode Switching:
Short press the Mode Switch Button on the bottom of the mouse to easily switch between multiple connected devices.
Multimedia Function Keys
The keyboard includes dedicated multimedia function keys. Direct press functions are available for some keys, while others (F1-F12) may require the FN key combination.

Kind Note & Sleep Mode
Kind Note:
- If the keyboard is not connected properly, turn off the power switch, restart Bluetooth on the device, or delete existing Bluetooth device names and reconnect.
- To switch between already connected devices, press the channel button and wait for 3 seconds for proper operation.
- The keyboard has a memory function. When reconnected to a previously paired channel, it will default to that channel with the indicator light on.
Sleep Mode:
- When the keyboard is not used for over 30 minutes, it automatically enters sleep mode, and the indicator light turns off.
- To wake the keyboard, press any key. It will wake up within 3 seconds, and the indicator light will turn on again.
