Safety Precautions

Before using your KB camera, please ensure you read and understand the following product and safety precautions:

  • DO NOT use the camera in water without the waterproof case.
  • Always check the waterproof case seal is clean and free of debris prior to use in water.
  • DO NOT attempt to open or modify the camera. Doing so will void the warranty. Maintenance and repairs should only be performed by Kaiser Baas.
  • DO NOT handle or charge the camera without its waterproof case using wet hands. Failure to do so may result in damage to the camera and persons.
  • ONLY recharge the camera battery using the supplied USB cable.
  • If using a wall charger, ensure it is certified for your region (AC Input: 100-240VAC 50/60Hz, DC Output: 5V 1A). Only use a USB wall charger with suitable approval and certification.
  • Do not charge in conditions outside of the 10°C - 45°C range. If unsure about your charger's specifications, use the included cable to charge from your computer.
  • The camera should not be used in heat exceeding 55°C (131°F).
  • DO NOT drop, crush, pierce, bend, deform, microwave, incinerate, or shoot the camera.

  • 1. Record / OK: Start/Stop recording, confirm selections.

  • 5. Scroll Up / Wi-Fi: Navigate through camera options and activate Wi-Fi.
  • 6. Scroll Down: Navigate through camera options.
  • 7. ON/OFF Mode: Turn the camera on or off, and switch between modes.

Getting Started

Welcome to your new KB Action Camera. This guide will help you get the maximum performance from your device.

Battery Charging

It is recommended to fully charge the camera before first use. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours using a 5V 0.5/1A charger. The charging indicator LED at the back of the camera is RED when charging and OFF when fully charged.

MicroSD Card Compatibility

The camera requires a MicroSD Card (not included). Kaiser Baas recommends using a brand-name Class 10 or higher MicroSD Card. The maximum supported card size is 32GB. For a list of recommended cards, visit kaiserbaas.com/support.

Format Card

Before recording for the first time, it is recommended to format the MicroSD card via the Settings Menu. Note: Formatting will permanently erase all data on the card. Ensure any important content is backed up before formatting.

Firmware Update

Check the kaiserbaas.com/support page for the latest firmware updates for your camera. The current firmware version can be found on the last settings page.

Power On/Off

To power ON the camera: Insert the battery, then press and hold the Power/Mode button for 2 seconds until the Kaiser Baas logo appears.

Navigation

The Power/Mode button cycles through camera modes, playback, and settings. Press the button consecutively until the desired mode appears. Use the Up/Down buttons on the side to scroll through menus. The Record/OK button starts/stops recording, captures photos, and confirms menu selections. To exit the menu, press the Power/Mode button.

Wi-Fi & KB App

Connect to the Kaiser Baas X220 App to get started and access the full user guide.

  1. Activate Wi-Fi via the camera's settings.
  2. On your phone, open Wi-Fi network settings and select the network named 'KB XXXXX'.
  3. Enter the password: 1234567890.
  4. Open the Kaiser Baas App and click 'Connect'.

Connections

You can display the camera's LCD screen on a TV Screen.

  1. Turn the camera on.
  2. Connect the Micro HDMI end of a suitable cable to the camera's port and the HDMI end to the TV's HDMI port.
  3. Select the correct source on the TV.

Note: A Micro HDMI to HDMI cable is required.

Camera Modes

The X220 features two primary modes: Video Mode and Photo Mode.

Video Mode

This is the default mode. Press the Record button to start recording. The blue LED light at the back of the camera will flash while recording.

Photo Mode

To enter Photo Mode, press the Power/Mode button once while in Video Mode. Press the Record/Confirm button to take a photo.

Camera Setup

To access the Setup menu, press the Power/Mode button three times while in Video Mode. Use the Up/Down buttons to scroll and the Record button to confirm.

Resolution

The camera supports various resolutions and frame rates. Higher resolutions provide greater detail and clarity.

Exposure

Manually control the exposure/amount of light. Select the EV level using the up/down buttons.

Motion Detection

Triggers recording automatically when motion is detected.

Loop Record

Allows continuous recording with footage intervals of 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 minutes. When enabled, the camera will overwrite the oldest file with the latest recording when the MicroSD card is full.

Time Lapse

Time-lapse records footage at a very low frame rate, allowing playback to show rapid changes over time. This is effective for scenes with slow changes, like sunsets or blooming flowers. Video is captured at specified intervals without audio.

Time lapse intervals can be set to 1, 5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds.

WDR (Wide Dynamic Range)

The WDR feature enhances photos by improving overall exposure and capturing greater detail in dark shadows.

Microphone

The microphone can be turned off if you do not wish to record sound on videos. It is set to 'on' by default.

Date Stamp

Toggle Date Stamp On/Off to display the Date or Date & Time on recordings.

Image Size

This refers to the number of pixels in an image. Resolution is identified by width, height, and total pixels.

Quality

This setting determines the quality of the image.

Auto Capture

When enabled, this mode sets a delay for taking a single photo after pressing the Record/Confirm button. Available intervals are 3, 5, 10, or 20 seconds.

Sharpness

Select the sharpness level using the buttons on the side.

ISO

Manually control the ISO level. The default is Auto. A higher ISO number may result in more noise/grain in footage.

Anti-Shaking

Reduces shakiness and blur when shooting video.

White Balance

Manually control white balance. Options include Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten, and Fluorescent. The camera defaults to Auto.

Frequency

The default setting is 50Hz. If you experience light strobing in your footage, you can manually select 50Hz or 60Hz.

OSD Mode

Show or hide the On-Screen Display.

Screen Saver

Conserves power by activating a screensaver. The LCD display will go black, but recording will continue. You can toggle the screensaver and set its duration.

Rotate

Select to invert the recording orientation. Useful for mounting the camera in hard-to-reach places.

Auto Power Off

Powers the camera off after a selected period of inactivity (3, 5, or 10 minutes).

Language

Select your desired language for the camera interface.

Beep Sound

Toggle the menu click sound on or off.

Date/Time

Set the date and time. Use the Up/Down buttons to adjust values and the Record button to move to the next character.

Car Mode

Use the X220 as a Dash Camera. In Loop Mode, the camera begins recording when a power input is detected. When the power source is disconnected, the camera records for a set interval (see delay section) before powering off.

Delete

Delete a single file or all files.

Format

Formats the MicroSD card. Recommended before using any MicroSD card that has been used in other devices. Note: Formatting permanently erases all data; back up content first.

Default Setting

Restores all settings to factory defaults.

Version

Displays the current firmware version installed on the X220.
