This addendum provides crucial information for integrating the HID SECONNECT iCLASS SE Connectivity Module into final commercial products. It details regulatory compliance statements for FCC and ISED, along with essential RF exposure considerations and labeling requirements for module integrators.
Regulatory Compliance
The module adheres to FCC Part 15 rules and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada's (ISED) licence-exempt RSS standards. Operation is subject to conditions preventing harmful interference and requiring acceptance of any received interference.
Specific operational constraints apply to the 5150–5250 MHz band, limiting its use to indoor environments to mitigate interference with mobile satellite systems.
RF Exposure Considerations
The module complies with FCC and IC RF radiation exposure limits for uncontrolled environments. It must not be co-located or operated with any other antenna or transmitter. A minimum separation distance of 20 cm between the module and the user's body must be maintained at all times.
Instruction to Module Integrator
Labeling
A label must be affixed to the final commercial product stating: Contains FCC ID: JQ6-SECONNECT and Contains IC: 2236B-SECONNECT.
Antenna Specifications
When replacing or adding antennas, they must be of the same type as originally approved, with equivalent or lower gain. Approved PCB antennas include:
- BLE: Chip SMD, WURTH P/N: 7488930245, peak gain: 0.5 dBi
- Wi-Fi: Chip SMD, AVX P/N: M830520, peak gain: 1.0 dBi (2.4 GHz) / 2.6 dBi (5 GHz)
Additional Testing & Modifications
The final host/module combination may require evaluation against FCC Part 15B criteria for unintentional radiators. Any modifications not expressly approved can void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
