DCM1e MAC IP Discovery
Access your DCM1e on MAC
1. Overview
This document explains how to identify the IP address of a DCM1e Cloud Electronics Digital Mixer from a macOS system and access its web interface using Safari, Chrome, or another browser. The procedure uses the device's MAC address and the arp -a
command in Terminal.
2. Prerequisites
Before starting, ensure the following:
- You have physical access to the DCM1e unit.
- The DCM1e is connected to the same local network as your macOS device.
- Your macOS device has Terminal access.
3. Step-by-Step Procedure
Step 1: Locate the MAC Address
Find the MAC address sticker on the left side panel if looking at the front of the DCM1e unit. The MAC address will look like:
00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E
(format: six pairs of hexadecimal digits separated by colons)
Step 2: Open Terminal
On your Mac, open Terminal:
Press Command (⌘) + Space to open Spotlight. Type Terminal and press Enter.
Step 3: Scan the Network
In Terminal, type:
arp -a
Press Enter. This will list all devices your Mac can see on the network, showing their IP addresses and MAC addresses.
Step 4: Match the MAC Address
Look through the list for the MAC address you found on the DCM1e sticker. You should see it in the format:
device-name (192.168.x.xxx) at 00:1a:2b:3c:4d:5e
The number in parentheses (192.168.x.xxx) is the IP address.
Step 5: Access the DCM1e Web Interface
Copy the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.45). Paste it into your browser's address bar:
http://192.168.1.45
Press Enter. The DCM1e configuration page should load.
