Welcome

Leviton's Decora Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug-In Switch provides easy smart control for outdoor lighting, including string lights, holiday lights, and landscape lighting. With a 15A rating and support for motor loads up to 3/4 HP, it can also control holiday decorations, inflatables, fountain pumps, outdoor fans, aquarium pumps, and other electronics.

Utilize the My Leviton app to create schedules, set run times, select sunrise/sunset options, or enable the built-in light sensor. A wireless Anywhere Companion Switch can be paired for convenient wall-mount control.

The switch is compatible with major smart home platforms like Matter, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home/Siri. Control your devices using voice commands or the My Leviton app remotely.

What You Need to Make It Work

• A 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with high-speed internet.
• An iOS (12.0 or later) or Android™ (8.0 or later) mobile device. Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled.
• A My Leviton account for My Leviton App connection.
• A Matter controller or hub for Matter connection.

Installation

⚠️ WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD. May result in serious injury or death. When used outdoors, this device must be plugged into a GFCI protected circuit.

1. Using a mobile device, confirm a strong Wi-Fi signal is available in the installation area.
2. Insert the Outdoor Plug-In Switch into a 120VAC outlet.
3. When the device powers ON, the Status LED flashes green, indicating it's ready for setup.
4. Press the Control Button to turn the connected load ON and OFF.

Notes:

• Ensure the switch's outlet is at least 3 inches above the ground to avoid immersion in water.
• Do not use in a switched outlet.
• For best performance of the light sensor, position it away from connected lights and shaded areas, with an unobstructed view towards natural ambient light.

Add Your Device to My Leviton

Connect to the My Leviton cloud for app control and integrations.

1. Ensure the device is in setup mode (Status LED blinking GREEN). If not, refer to setup mode instructions.
2. Launch the My Leviton app.
3. Log in or sign up for an account.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Tap the "+" icon on the devices page and select "Add Device".
6. Follow app instructions to connect to your home Wi-Fi network.

Connect to a Matter Controller (Optional)

Integrate with Matter-compatible systems.

1. Ensure the device is in Setup Mode (Status LED blinking GREEN).
2. Open your Matter Controller's app and select "Add Accessory" or "Add Device".
3. Scan the Matter Setup code found on the device or guide cover.
4. Follow the Matter Controller's app instructions to complete setup.

Note on Multiple Matter Controllers: The initial Matter Setup Code is for first-time setup. For adding to additional controllers, use the existing controller's app to generate a new pairing code. Factory resetting the device allows reuse of the original code.

Connect to My Leviton Partners (Optional)

Integrate with various smart home services.

1. In the My Leviton app, tap the menu icon and select "Integrations".
2. Locate and select the desired service, then follow the instructions.

Troubleshooting: Status LED

The Status LED provides feedback on device connectivity and status.

Troubleshooting: Diagnostic LED

The Diagnostic LED indicates Wi-Fi and cloud connection status.

Setup Mode

1. Hold the control button for 7 seconds.
2. The status light turns Amber; release the button.
3. When the status LED flashes Green, the device is in Setup Mode.

Test My Leviton App Control

1. Open the My Leviton app.
2. Tap the device icon to turn the connected load ON/OFF.

Pair an Anywhere Companion (Optional)

1. Place the Anywhere Companion in Pairing mode (press top rocker 5 times; its Status LED blinks GREEN).
2. Place the Outdoor Plug-In Switch into Pairing mode (press Control Button 5 times; its Status LED flashes GREEN/AMBER).
3. The devices will pair automatically within wireless RF range. A quickly flashing GREEN Status LED indicates successful connection.

Factory Default Reset

1. Hold the control button for 14 seconds.
2. After 7 seconds, the status LED turns Amber. Continue holding.
3. After another 7 seconds, the LED flashes Red and Amber rapidly. Release the button to reset.

What to Do If...

Device Not Performing as Expected:

• Ensure the plug-in is supplied from a non-switched 120VAC, 60Hz source.
• Verify the connected lights/load are working and the local switch is ON.
• Confirm the connected lights/load do not exceed the device's rated limits.

Not Connected to Wi-Fi:

• Ensure the switch has a Wi-Fi signal and is within range of the access point.
• Check "Device Health" in the My Leviton app for signal strength.
• Move the device closer to the Wi-Fi access point or add an access point to improve coverage.
• Avoid installing the switch inside a metal enclosure.
• Alternatively, use "Reconfigure Wireless" in the My Leviton app to update Wi-Fi settings.

⚠️ WARNING: DO NOT use for high power heating appliances (e.g., portable heaters) to avoid fire, injury, or death. Unexpected consequences can occur if not used with care (e.g., an empty coffee pot being turned on). This module is not rated for electronic low-voltage/high-frequency transformers or high-pressure discharge lamps (HID lighting like mercury-vapor, sodium vapor, metal halide).

General Warnings:

• Install and use in accordance with electrical codes and regulations.
• Consult an electrician if unsure about instructions.
• Unplug the unit when servicing loads.
• Leviton Wi-Fi devices rely on Wi-Fi communication. For large installations, consult access point specifications and consider upgrading to high-performance access points.
