HAOLIYUAN SZD06 Zigbee Sensor: Quick Setup & Home Assistant Integration
Product Introduction
This document provides instructions for the HAOLIYUAN SZD06 Zigbee sensor, a smart home device compatible with Tuya and eWeLink platforms.

Quick Setup
This product supports the Tuya platform or the EWELINK platform. To get started, download the "Smart Life" (Tuya platform) or "eWeLink" (eWeLink platform) app from your device's app store or Google Play. Alternatively, scan the QR codes below to install the official app:

Note: Before proceeding, ensure your Zigbee gateway is already added and listed within the Smart Life app.
To pair the device with your gateway:
- Remove the insulation sheet from the device.
- Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds. The LED indicator will begin to blink, signaling it's in pairing mode.
- Navigate to your Zigbee gateway's homepage within the app.
- Tap "Search new device" or "Add Devices" and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the SZD06 sensor to your gateway.
Device Installation
Install the device in your desired location using the included double-sided tape. For optimal performance, ensure the alignment marks on the device are positioned as close together as possible, with a gap not exceeding 15mm.

Battery Replacement
The SZD06 sensor is powered by two CR1632 batteries. To replace the batteries:
- Carefully slide the upper cover of the device to open it.
- Replace the old batteries with new ones, ensuring the negative pole (-) is correctly oriented towards the PCB.
APPENDIX: Connecting Device in Home Assistant
This section details how to integrate the SZD06 sensor with your Home Assistant setup.
Prerequisites:
- A functional Home Assistant system installed on a host device (e.g., computer, Raspberry Pi).
- A Zigbee Coordinator (USB dongle) successfully added and configured within your Home Assistant system.
There are two primary methods for connecting the device to Home Assistant:
a) ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation) Integration
- Access your Home Assistant instance via a web browser or the Home Assistant mobile app. Use the IP address and port, for example: "http://x.x.x.x:8123".
- Navigate through the Home Assistant interface: Go to "Settings" ➔ "Devices & Services" ➔ select "ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation)" ➔ then click "Add Devices".
- Initiate pairing by pressing the device's button for 5 seconds until the LED blinks. The device should be discovered and connected to Home Assistant within moments.

Note: If the ZHA integration is not already present in your Home Assistant, you will need to add it first by selecting "ADD INTEGRATION".

b) Zigbee2MQTT Integration
- Access your Home Assistant instance via a web browser or the Home Assistant mobile app (e.g., "http://x.x.x.x:8123").
- Navigate to "Settings" ➔ "Add-ons" ➔ select "Zigbee2MQTT" ➔ then click "OPEN WEB UI".
- In the Zigbee2MQTT web interface, click "Permit join (All)" to enable device discovery.
- Press the device's button for 5 seconds until the LED blinks. The device will then connect to Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT.

Note 1: If the Zigbee2MQTT add-on is not installed on your Home Assistant, you must install it first by accessing the "ADD-ON STORE".

Note 2: If your SZD06 sensor is not recognized or supported by your current Zigbee2MQTT version, it is recommended to update Zigbee2MQTT to the latest available version.
FCC Warning
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, as per Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are established to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If not installed and used according to the instructions, it may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a specific installation.
Should this equipment cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be identified by turning the equipment off and on, users are encouraged to attempt to correct the interference through one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation distance between the equipment and the receiver.
- Connect the equipment to an electrical outlet on a circuit that is different from the one used by the receiver.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for assistance.
