Z-Stick Gen5 V1.01 Firmware Update

Introduction
You can update your Z-Stick Gen5 firmware. If you are unsure of your current firmware version, you can update the Z-Stick Gen5 without resetting your Z-Wave network. Note: Much older Z-Stick Gen5 units may not be possible to update.

Install Driver (Required)
- Download the driver from this link: https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/attachments/6071670591
- Unzip the file
ZW050x_USB_Programming_Driver.zip
into any folder. Recommended software for unzipping includes WinZip or WinRar. - Open the folder where you unzipped the driver and locate the
.inf
file.

- Right-click on the file named
zw05xxprg.inf
. - Select "Install" from the context menu.
Update Z-Stick Gen5
- Unzip the firmware file
Z_Stick_G5_V1_01_DFU.zip
into any folder. Choose the EU or US version depending on your Z-Wave Frequency. - Open the folder and launch the application
ZStick_G5_Update tool.exe
. - Connect your Z-Stick Gen5 to your PC. Ensure it is not connected to any other software interface.
- In the update tool, navigate to "Settings" and select the appropriate COM port (e.g., "Settings -> COMx").

- If the update is successful, the software's status bar at the bottom will display: "Serial Port: [Your COM Port] Status: Update operation completed successfully." The COM port number (e.g., COM3, COM5, COM10) will vary depending on your system's configuration.
- Click on "Update". The firmware update process will take approximately 3 minutes to complete.
