Screen Settings
Adjust the image according to the procedures below if using an analog input signal.
The screen settings described in this manual are intended for setting the image and reducing flicker or blur when working with a computer.
- The monitor is designed for 1920 x 1080 resolution. When operating at a lower resolution, image characteristics may degrade because the picture is automatically stretched to fit the entire screen. Monitor use is recommended at 1920 x 1080 resolution.
- Displayed text or lines may be distorted or have uneven thickness when the screen image is magnified.
- It is recommended to adjust the image position or frequency using the monitor's standard control functions, rather than computer programs or utilities.
- Settings are recommended to be made after the display has warmed up for at least 30 minutes.
- After performing Auto Adjust, depending on the resolution and signal synchronization, additional correction may be required.
- Auto Adjust may not work correctly when displaying images that differ from Test.bmp (screen setup pattern). In such cases, manual adjustment is required.
There are two ways to adjust the screen image: Automatic adjustment of image position, Synchronization, Pixel, and Phase. The other method is manual adjustment.
When connecting the monitor to a new computer, perform auto-adjustment. Otherwise, the resolution may change. If the image flickers or is blurry after auto-adjustment, or if the picture does not fit the display, manual adjustment is required. Both adjustments should be performed using the setup patterns (Test.bmp), which can be found on the website (http://www.iiyama.com).
This manual describes monitor settings for Windows® OS.
- Select the optimal resolution for the image.
- Set Test.bmp (screen setup pattern) as your desktop wallpaper.
NOTE: If you do not know how to change desktop wallpaper, refer to your operating system's documentation.
- Set the image position on the display to the center of the desktop using the wallpaper settings dialog.
[Setup Pattern]
Diagram Description: Shows a test pattern with sections labeled "Шаблон зебра" (Zebra Pattern), "Цветная полоска" (Color Bar), and "Кадр изображения" (Image Frame). Various resolution options are listed.
Auto Adjustment
Press the AUTO button (Auto Adjustment).
If the picture flickers, is blurry, or does not fit the screen, manually adjust the image using the procedure described below.
Manual Adjustment
Vertical Position: Adjust the vertical position (Vert. Position) so that the top and bottom of the picture fit on the screen.
Diagram Description: Shows a diagram illustrating vertical adjustment of an image within a frame.
Horizontal Position: Adjust the horizontal position (Horizont. Position) so that the left side of the picture aligns with the left edge of the screen.
Diagram Description: Shows a diagram illustrating horizontal adjustment of an image within a frame.
Horizontal Size (Pixel Synchronization): Stretch the right edge of the picture to the right edge of the screen using the horizontal size setting (Pixel Synchronization).
Diagram Description: Shows a diagram illustrating horizontal stretching of an image to fit the screen.
NOTE: If the left side of the picture frame goes beyond the left edge of the display during horizontal size adjustment (Pixel Synchronization), repeat steps 1 and 2.
Another method for synchronization correction is to correct the vertical wavy lines on the "zebra" pattern.
The picture may flicker during horizontal size (Pixel Synchronization), horizontal position (Horizont. Position), and vertical position (Vert. Position) adjustments.
If after adjusting the horizontal size (Pixel Synchronization), the image frame is larger or smaller than the display area, repeat the steps starting from 3.
Phase Adjustment
For correcting horizontal waviness, flickering, or blurriness on the "zebra" pattern, use the fine-tuning (Phase) adjustment.
Diagram Description: Shows a diagram illustrating phase adjustment for image clarity.
NOTE: If severe flickering or distortion remains on parts of the screen, repeat steps 6 and 7 for horizontal size adjustment (Pixel Synchronization). Adjust the horizontal position (Horizont. Position) after fine-tuning if the horizontal position is outside the adjustment range.
Brightness and Color Adjustment
After completing size and phase adjustments, adjust brightness (Brightness) and color settings (Color) for an optimal picture. You can now change the desktop wallpaper back to your previous settings.
Power Management
The power consumption regulation of this product complies with VESA DPMS requirements. When your computer is not in use, the monitor automatically reduces energy consumption for its operation.
To use this feature, the monitor must be connected to a computer compatible with VESA DPMS. The power consumption regulation mode is described below. Necessary settings, including timer settings, must be made on the computer. Information on configuring these settings can be found in your operating system's manual.
Power Management Mode
When the computer signal is lost, the monitor enters power saving mode, reducing power consumption to less than 0.5 W. The screen darkens, and the power indicator turns orange. The monitor returns from power saving mode a few seconds after any key on the keyboard is pressed or the mouse is moved.
Diagram Description: Shows two states: "Normal Operation Mode" with a blue power indicator and "Power Management Mode" with an orange power indicator. A graph shows power consumption, with "Normal" at 100% and "Power Management" below 0.5W.
NOTE: The monitor consumes energy even in power saving mode. To avoid unnecessary energy waste, turn off the monitor using the power button whenever the monitor is not in use for extended periods, such as overnight or on weekends.
Troubleshooting
If the monitor is not operating correctly, please follow the sequence of operations below for possible solutions.
- Perform adjustments as described in the "Monitor Operation" section based on your problem. If the image does not appear, see item 2.
- Refer to the table below if you cannot find a suitable setting in the "Monitor Operation" section or if the problem cannot be resolved.
