Installation Instructions
General Mounting: Follow the diagrams for correct mounting procedures.
Optional Anti-Vandal Mounting: The luminaire can be secured with anti-vandal mounting hardware (x2).
Wiring Versions:
- PSU Versions: Features internal wiring for power supply units. Cable entry diameter is Ø8-12mm, suitable for wire cross-sections of 0.75-2.5mm². Recommended torque for connections is 1 Nm.
- TW3 Versions: Features internal wiring for TW3 power supply units. Cable entry diameter is Ø8-12mm, suitable for wire cross-sections of 0.75-2.5mm². Recommended torque for connections is 1 Nm.
- Through Wiring: Diagrams illustrate through wiring connections for Line (L), Neutral (N), and Earth (E) conductors, typically labeled 1 and 2 for input/output.
Cable Entry:
- Mid- or Side-Entry (Optional): The luminaire allows for cable entry from the middle or side of the unit. Diagrams (a-g) show the process, including knocking out a section for cable entry.
Power and Installation Safety:
- ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Switch off the power supply before installation.
Silicone Plug Replacement (Optional):
- Instructions and diagrams (a-d) detail how to replace the silicone plug if necessary.
Luminaire Assembly:
- Follow diagrams to assemble and connect luminaires.
- ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Remove protection foil after installation and before usage.
Start/End of Line Connections (TW3 Versions):
- Diagrams show how to connect luminaires in a series for TW3 versions, indicating start and end points of the line.
Microwave Motion Sensor
This luminaire may be equipped with a microwave motion sensor. The sensor is designed to connect one load only; connecting more than one load may damage the sensor.
- Daylight Sensor: Can be set to activate the luminaire only when ambient lux levels are below approximately 300 lux. In 'DISABLE' mode, the sensor activates regardless of ambient light.
- Detection Area: Adjustable via DIP switches, with a detection radius of 4-9 meters and a recommended mounting height up to 4 meters.
- Hold Time: Default is 5 minutes, determining how long the light remains on after no motion is detected.
DIP Switch Settings (Example)
Detection Range (Example):
- Ceiling Mounting: At H=4.0m, 100% detection radius is ~5m; 40% is ~2.1m.
- Wall Mounting: At H=2.5m, 100% detection radius is ~7m; 40% is ~3.7m.
Refer to the detailed tables (9a, 9b) for specific DIP switch configurations and corresponding detection radii based on mounting height and area settings.
Sensor Initialization and Operation
Upon power-on, the sensor warms up and calibrates the environment for approximately 120 seconds. During the first 30 seconds, the light stays on, then turns off for 90 seconds. After 3 flashes, it operates normally. Movement during calibration may extend the off-time. Extended off-time without movement may indicate environmental disturbance.
The sensor reliably detects walking people and can detect movement through walls (e.g., brick, dry wood, glass). Sensitivity can be adjusted via DIP switches 3 and 4 to reduce detection range behind walls. Undesired detections may occur due to strong electromagnetic fields, heavy vibrations, water pipes, large metal surfaces, or water on the ground.
Service and Safety Information
Service:
- The light source (LED) is non-user replaceable. Replacement must be performed by the manufacturer, their agent, or a similarly qualified person.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: Do not touch electronic components as they may be under high voltage. Risk of electric shock.
- Observe precautions for handling Electrostatic Sensitive Devices (ESD).
Driver Replacement:
- Diagrams illustrate the process for replacing the driver unit.
- Torque Specification: Bolts indicated on drawings require tightening with a calibrated torque wrench. Pre-assembled bolts must be retightened to the specified torque for maximum strength.
Inrush Current
A graph illustrates the inrush current characteristics. Tables provide data on peak inrush current (Ipeak) and reference time (Tref) for various LED models.
Electrical Load Information
Tables specify the maximum number of luminaires that can be connected per Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) type (e.g., 16A Type B, 10A Type C).
General Warnings:
- Do not stare into the LED light beam.
- The luminaire must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the latest IEE electrical regulations or national requirements.
- The luminaires are not suitable for Central Battery Systems (CBS).
Compatibility and Compliance
Zhaga-D4i and SR Certified Compatibility:
- For Zhaga-D4i/SR-Certified luminaires, only Zhaga-D4i/SR-Certified components/sensors should be used. Refer to zhagastandard.org and philips.com/lighting for details.
- Functional compatibility of combined SR-certified and/or Zhaga-D4i controllers/sensors, and override possibilities, must be released by the master controller/sensor supplier.
- Using a NEMA 7-pin socket on an SR-based luminaire requires full system verification. Failure to comply may result in damage and non-compliance, for which Signify is not responsible.
Energy Efficiency:
- This product contains a light source of a specific energy efficiency class. Refer to the table or label for details.
