Safety
[!] WARNING: FIRE OR EXPLOSION HAZARD
- Failure to follow safety warnings could result in serious injury or property damage.
- This heater has hot surfaces and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.
- Do not install or use in areas containing hazardous or flammable materials including rags, fabrics, spray or aerosol cans, cleaning compounds, plastic containers, paper products, organic dusts, straw/hay, gasoline, kerosene, lighter fluid, etc.
- To prevent fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust.
- Do not insert foreign objects into ventilation or exhaust openings; this may cause electric shock, fire, or damage.
- Do not cover the heater or hang clothing on or near it.
- Caution! Do not use with another appliance on the same supply line or breaker.
- This heater must be properly grounded.
- The power cord must not be left on or around the heater body.
- Keep combustible materials (furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, curtains, etc.) at least 6 feet (1.8m) from the front, sides, and rear of the heater.
[!] WARNING: PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD - OPERATION
- The heater is hot when in use. Avoid burns by not letting bare skin touch hot surfaces.
- Exercise extreme caution when used by or near children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities.
- Never leave the heater unattended while operating.
- Do not operate if the heater malfunctions. Disconnect power and have it inspected by an electrician before reuse.
- Do not use the heater to light cigarettes or similar materials.
- Do not insert objects into heater openings; electrical shock could result.
- To disconnect, turn controls to off, then turn off power at the main disconnect panel.
[!] WARNING: PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD - CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- To avoid property damage, personal injury, or death due to electrical shock, turn the unit OFF and disconnect the heater from the main power supply before servicing.
- Before cleaning or replacing the emitter, turn off the main power and ensure the heater/emitter is cool.
- Service must be performed only by a qualified service technician.
Installation Instructions
Heater installation must be carried out by qualified personnel in compliance with local National Codes (NEC) and applicable standards. Failure to comply may result in personal injury and/or property damage. Wiring must conform to national and local electrical codes.
Modine infrared panel heaters produce radiant and convective heat. They include standard 4" brackets to direct heat.
To reduce fire risk, do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids near the heater.
2.1 Installation Clearances – Wall Mount

Observe minimum clearances indicated on the nameplate and in the manual. Keep combustibles at least 6 feet (1.8m) from the front, sides, and rear of the heater.

Wall Mounted Clearances Diagram Description: Shows clearances for wall mounting: 0.2m (8") from the wall, 0.45m (18") to adjacent walls. Also shows floor clearances: 2.1m (6'7") for USA and 2.4m (8') for Canada.
2.2 Installation Clearances – Ceiling Mount
For best performance, install 8' in Canada and 7' in USA (measured to bottom of heater). Minimum mounting height is 8' in Canada and 6'7" in USA. For outdoor environments, do not mount above 8'. Heater includes standard 4" brackets. When installed directly on a ceiling with provided brackets, the heater MUST be installed parallel to the ceiling.

Ceiling Mounted Clearances Diagram Description: Shows clearances for ceiling mounting: 0.1m (4") from the ceiling, 0.45m (18") to adjacent walls. Also shows wall mount clearance of 0.2m (8").
2.3 Installation on High Ceilings
For high ceilings, suspend the heater for optimal heating. For outdoor use, do not mount the bottom of the heater above 8' in Canada and 7' in USA. Chains may be used for indoor hanging.
2.4 Electrical Installation
Safety Precautions:
- Each power supply circuit must be properly grounded.
- Use a certified ground fault protection device for wet environments.
- Use a proper electrical connection box.
- Supply voltage and frequency must match the unit's information plate.
2.5 Wall-Mounted Installation
NOTE: Use overhead cover for outdoor installations. Not recommended for northern climates or high wind areas.
- Unpack the heater and remove protective foam.
- The heater includes standard 4" brackets. Spacing between brackets: 3200W: 48" to 30" (1.2m to 0.75m); 1500W: 18" to 10" (0.45m to 0.25m).
- Select wall location by identifying studs or structural beams for secure attachment. Ensure minimum clearances from section 2.1 are met.
- Securely fasten brackets to the mounting surface. Wall bolts/anchors are not supplied; select appropriate size for unit weight and wind load.
- Mount heater to brackets with the terminal box on the right side, using provided screws.
- Adjust heater to desired angle and tighten fixing bolts on the back of the heater.
- Secure the electrical supply cable so it does not contact the heater body or obstruct air vents. Follow electrical codes.
Diagram Description: Shows bracket mounting dimensions (3.5mm [.1in], 92mm [3.6in]) and indicates to tighten screws to lock the angle.
2.6 Ceiling Mounted Installation
[!] WARNING: Heater should be hung using rigid mounting brackets, unable to swing. Chain mounting is for indoor use only.
- Secure heater to mounting brackets with nuts and washers.
- Select ceiling location by identifying studs/beams for secure attachment. Note: ceiling bolts/anchors are not supplied. Select appropriate size for unit weight and wind load conditions.

- Attach unit to ceiling using ceiling brackets and user-selected bolts.
- Heater can hang vertically or at a maximum 45° angle from vertical.
- NOTICE: NEVER direct infrared heat at an adjacent wall.
- Secure electrical supply cable away from heater body and air vents.
2.7 Adjusting Directional Positioning
[!] WARNING: Never attempt to move or adjust the heater angle while it is running. Personal injury could result.
- Turn off the heater's electrical supply from the main power supply.
- Allow the heater to cool before adjusting the angle.
- Loosen fixing bolts on the brackets at the back of the heater, adjust as desired, then re-tighten.
Notice: The unit produces radiant heat. Install at an angle pointing the front face at the target area. Do not point at windows or vacant spaces.

Maintenance
[!] WARNINGS
- Allow the heater and emitter to cool before handling.
- Installation and maintenance must be performed by a qualified technician.
- Turn off power before maintenance.
- Do not attempt to service or repair while unit is running.
- If heater is dropped, damaged, or malfunctions, immediately turn off main power and do not use until inspected by an authorized service facility.
3.1 Cleaning
To remove dust or dirt:
- Disconnect the heater from the main power supply.
- Ensure the heater is cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the front face with a soft, lint-free cloth and a cleaning solution.

Warranty Information
This Warranty applies to Products sold by Modine Manufacturing Company. Seller warrants Products to be free from defects in material and factory workmanship under normal use and service, subject to exclusions.
Warranty Process: If a defect is found within the Applicable Warranty Period, Buyer must obtain Seller's written approval to return the product. Seller will, at its option, repair, replace defective parts, or offer a replacement unit. Warranty period for repaired/replaced items does not extend beyond the original period.
Exclusions and Limitations:
- Does not include consumables like refrigerant gas, belts, filters, fuses.
- Not applicable to damage from conditions beyond Seller's control (pollution, improper water/air supply).
- Not applicable to products repaired or altered without authorization.
- No coverage for materials or labor not furnished by Seller.
- No coverage for labor costs related to diagnosing, repairing, shipping, etc.
- Not applicable to products removed for reinstallation.
- Not applicable if operated, maintained, or serviced contrary to instructions.
- No coverage for damages from inadequate or interrupted air/water supply.
- Not applicable to misuse, negligence, faulty installation, accident, excessive thermal shock, humidity, physical damage, improper operation, or conditions exceeding design limits.
- For gas/oil units, not applicable if input exceeds rated input by more than 5%.
- Not applicable to products installed in corrosive atmospheres, marine/coastal applications, or exposed to corrosive fluids/gases.
- Not applicable to damage from improper voltage, blown fuses, open circuit breakers, or electrical supply interruptions.
- Not applicable to products with altered or removed serial numbers.
