3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Helmet G5-01 TW
Advanced Protection and Comfort for Welders
Adaptable to Your Needs
The 3M™ Speedglas™ Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 Series is engineered for adaptability, designed based on extensive input from welders working at high amperages who frequently grind. It caters to individual needs and situations, ensuring optimal performance and comfort.
Key Features
Speedglas True-View Technology
Experience industry-leading optics with 3M™ Speedglas™ True-View Technology. This feature provides a more natural light state, offering realistic colours, enhanced contrast, and improved control. The G5-01 TW welding lens features True-View technology, with options for Shade 5 (cut) or Shade 8-13, and a dedicated Tack Welding Mode.
The lens is designed for a smoother dark-light transition, utilizing an intermediate Shade 5 to minimize eye strain during rapid changes. If an arc is not struck within 2 seconds, the lens automatically returns to its TrueView light state (Shade 3).
Heavy-Duty Respiratory Protection
For demanding welding and grinding applications, the G5-01 helmet integrates with the 3M™ Adflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). This system delivers at least 50 times cleaner air compared to breathing unprotected (RMPF = 50), protecting welders from particles and gases. The Adflo™ PAPR is renowned for its respiratory protection capabilities.
Did You Know? Welding fume was reclassified in 2017 from IARC Group 2B to Group 1 (Carcinogenic to humans). For more information on reducing exposure, visit www.awsi.com.au.
Customizable Comfort and Airflow
Take complete control over your comfort with the innovative duct system. Direct airflow to your face, visor, or a combination. Adjust the air volume from the top outlet versus the side outlets. These adjustments can be made while wearing the helmet, ensuring continuous eye, face, and respiratory protection.
Light Up Your Workspace
An optional, helmet-mounted task light provides powerful illumination for poorly lit areas. Powered by the Adflo battery, it's specifically designed for welding, offering a wide light spread, even distribution, and configurable intensity.
Tailor Your Fit and Protection
Customize your helmet with features like a new self-adjusting headband design for improved comfort, adjustable options to control the distance and angle to the visor and lens, and an optional extra-large back head pad for enhanced comfort.
The helmet boasts a slim design for increased coverage of the ears, head, and neck. The welding visor can be completely removed for non-welding applications, reducing helmet weight by over 35%.
Expanded Coverage Options
Enhance your protection with various accessories:
- Standard configuration includes rigid neck protection and fabric head protection.
- Add fluorescent yellow extended head protection for increased visibility.
- Replace rigid neck protection with smaller fabric neck protection for better welding posture.
- Utilize durable leather head and neck protectors for demanding conditions.
- Increase coverage with larger fabric head covers and extended fabric neck protection.
- Maximize spark protection with a fabric shroud and extended fabric head protection, available as a kit.
