Since hearing damage from loud sounds is often undetectable until it is too late, HYANKA and the Electronic Industries Association's Consumer Electronics Group recommend that you avoid prolonged exposure to excessive volume levels. Immediately upon receiving the product, carefully unpack the carton, check the contents to ensure that none of the parts are missing, and all parts are in good condition. Keep all magnetic devices such as credit cards and magnetic coded keys a fair distance away from the ferrite (magnet) core of the speaker. 2. Install the speaker system as explained in this manual. 3. Once installed, operate the speaker only within its RMS power rating. Overdriving the speaker will lead to failure. 4. Match the speaker to a suitable output source (amplifier). The amplified output should be slightly higher (ideally 30% higher) than the speaker RMS rating to allow for head-room and to eliminate clipped signals (square waveforms) being produced by the speaker. 5. Ensure that the speaker wires are correctly connected on either side (speaker and amplifier). 6. Clean the speaker using a clean, dry or water damp cloth. Do not clean with abrasive chemicals/cleansing agents. Optimal Recommended Wooden Box Specs Flexible Placement in Closed or Open Port Box. 1a12" Subwoofer Closed box: Volume 45L, Freq. cutoff at 45HZ 2a12" Subwoofer Open box: Volume 50L, Freq. cutoff at 35HZ BSM-12 Car Subwoofer 06 7.0 CAR SUBWOOFER MOUNTING Sealing Strip Installation: The PERSEUS Series car subwoofer can be mounted in a separate wooden enclosure. Ensure that the depth of the intended installation area is adequate and that the speaker is not obstructed once installed. 1. Separate Wooden Enclosure for Installation. (1) Turn off the vehicle's igntion in order to avoid unwanted audible spikes once the speaker is connected to the output source. (2) Connect the internal speaker wire of the enclosure from the connector panel to the speaker, paying attention to the polarity. (3) Secure the speaker to the enclosure using 8 suitable screws/securing hardware. (4) Connect the speaker wire from the enclosure connector panel to the output source (amplifier), paying attention to the polarity. 2. Connect the speaker cable to the amplifier output Make sure the polarity is correct when connecting the speaker cable to the amplifier output. Incorrect connections could lead to phasing problems or even damage to audio components (amplifier and speaker) . The positive wire (normally marked with a solid line) must be used to connect the positive terminal of the speaker with the demarcated positive output connection of the output source (amplifier). NOTE: When connecting a speaker to a component amplifier, pay particular attention to whether the amplifier is configured in bridge mode.If this is your intended configuration, make sure that the connection made is correct for this mode. BSM-12 Car Subwoofer 07 8.0 DESCRIPTION OF WIRING With a power output 2 times higher than the average subwoofer and a variety of wiring methods, our subwoofer can be used in homes and cars. Three ways of connecting the cables. 2/4 2/4 1. A single set of voice coil speakers has a resistance of 2/4 ohms and can be bridged with a high-power four-way power amplifier. 2/4 2/4 1/2 2/4 2/4 4/8 2.The subwoofer impedance of multiple connections is 1/2 ohm, 2 voice coils in parallel i.e. the power of the subwoofer is increased by 1.5 times compared to a single connected group of voice coils, a Class D single digital power amplifier is required to drive it, this connection gives the most power and the best results. BSM-12 Car Subwoofer 3.The impedance of the subwoofer series-wound connection is 4/8 ohm.
