INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.

Installation MUST be in accordance with BS 6173: 1990 for installation of commercial

catering gas fired appliances.

2.

Suitable for use with 1st, 2nd & 3rd family gases only on piping system at a pressure NOT

exceeding 50 mbar.

3.

Installation and commissioning MUST be carried out by a qualified and approved

commercial catering gas engineer.

4.

Gas supply must be turned off and all the equipment control knobs to be switched to

off position before connecting.

5.

An accessible, manually operated shut-off valve MUST be installed in accordance with

BS 6173 : 1990.

6.

Gas flow direction must start from the quick release valve end to the male end which

connects to the equipment.

7.

Restraint cable supplied MUST be fitted securely to restrict movement of the appliance

whilst the hose is connected to prevent causing any damage. The restraint cable MUST

NOT be attached to the gas supply pipes, to the flexible connection or to any point

insecurely anchored. The restraining kit shall be inspected as a part of the maintenance

and safety procedures.

8.

The gas outlet to which connection is to be made MUST be located in the same room

as the appliance and the connection MUST NOT be concealed within, or run through,

any wall, floor or partition.

9.

On completion, the final assembly MUST be tested for any leaks.

CAUTION. A naked flame MUST NOT be used for this purpose. Leak test solutions can

cause corrosion, so thorough rinsing with water after the test is required.

10. Connect2Gas hose MUST NOT come into contact with any sharp edges or wiring.

11. Connect2Gas hose MUST NOT be pinched, twisted or taught when installed. The installation MUST avoid excessive flexing, bending or vibration of the hose in service.

12. Both the end fittings of the gas hose are thread locked and MUST NEVER BE undone.

BEFORE MOVING THE APPLIANCE PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW.

1.

APPLIANCE MUST BE MOVED WITH CAUTION WHEN COLD TO THE TOUCH.

2.

DISCONNECT HOSE WITH THE QUICK RELEASE VALVE FROM THE GAS SUPPLY.

3.

DISCONNECT THE RESTRAINING CABLE BEFORE MOVING THE APPLIANCE.

Connect2Gas premium heavy duty gas hoses are made of corrugated flexible tube, woven with an extra layer of outer braiding all in 304 stainless steel, achieving ultimate tensile strength, durability and safety.

Disconnect the quick release valve by sliding the valve sleeve backwards.

Reconnect by pushing the nipple into the female end.
